- Such a unique, rare and special classic Datsun here, because not only is it a double-cab version of the sedan-based Datsun truck, it's a transition model, where elements of two generations of Datsun pickups can be seen. The U220 Datsun Truck had a curved, sedan-inspired C-pillar, whereas that of the previous generation had a distinct cut-off look; which is what we have here, in this U220! Wow

Wow what a beautiful double cab!! I love how the speedometer says kilos. The only other car I've seen with kilos and not km/h was some sort of 60s ford division car, could've been thunderbird. But wow that price! It's crazy because i always thought those really old cars cost big money in japan. Could it be that the market is changing towards round plastic bumper cars which by the way eww 😆 oh man I'm glad this truck is staying on japanese roads going to car shows. Love the minimal wasabi on it and the tiny dent on the fender. Awesome survivor
Kilos... I feel like I'm in the kitchen measuring flour. ;-) Regarding the low price, I think this one is just a little not popular due to age. I'm definitely seeing "ridiculous" (maybe) asking prices on late 1960's, 1970's cars.

Bro, and it was night shift this week, too. Almost dies... 5 times. I'm really doing it tough. Hanging in there as best I can. It's 9-hour days, zero public holidays AND physically demanding. lol (not actual lol) But, I effing hated teaching, so it is what it is

Wow, that is cheap - or at least cheaper than I would expect from prices having seen them over the last 2 years or so. Maybe we've crested the hill and prices overall will start to fall. If they haven't already. Great video Dan.

I remember someone telling me those engines were based on BMC B series (Morrie minors, minis etc.) I'm not sure how true that is though....
I did hear similar things, but can't say I can recall any specifics. I guess Japan absorbed the available tech of the time. Makes sense
Well they had the licence with BMC. Guess the engine too. But it was surely based on the design.
Seeing a car what you can start with a crank key in front is always Interesting. But man the price in the auction is confusing for me. I still can't adjust on the rising prices what everyone think is normal. But guess I am not normal because I buy only only low budget car's.

That is cheap! One generation later U320, less than 10 running around went for 2million. One reason might be (I am not to knowledgeable about this) that this is, as you said, a closed auction = less buyers. Maybe if the sell it on YahooAuctions or carsensor, it goes higher.
