@@JohnMelon-qg9tj GMT-7, so WAAAAY behind Saudi Arabia. Follows the Rocky Mountain trail, mostly, from Mexico up through Canada. It's an hour ahead of the US West Coast and 2 hours behind places like NYC or Boston.

great casting, production value, and amazing gameplay
Why Reynor lost:
Game1 he built spire, didn't use it. He built an infestation pit, never paid off or used it. Lost a lot of drones to oracles. Made 85 drones before 8:30. Massive stasis ward to start off the deciding fight. No ravagers. 50 lings with his +1 attack did nothing at the 3rd. Basically he just was wayyy too greedy. If he scouted more, made better decisions off of his scouting, and cancelled the spire as a fake, Game1 would've been closer. Serral's a monster at scouting, and then the decisions seem natural. Serral would scout the 3rd way beforehand, see there are 2 cannons, a battery, and a sim city, and not waste 50 lings to a do-nothing counter-attack.
Game2 he told Rotti that he hates Amphion, and Rotti has subsequently told everyone that will listen, that Reynor hates this map. Obviously Hero is going to pick it. Took too much damage to oracles and had slow reaction times when nothing was really happening 14:35 (it took 5 seconds from the time the Oracle appeared, to the time he moved the queens to intercept it). 14:50 didn't have vision of the dead-space the oracle was in, so it came back and picked off even more drones easily. He did a great attack mid game though, and got ahead from that. Didn't transition to threatening enough harrass (ling drops are good until a certain point, then you need more). Around 22:35 he should have gotten at least 2 vipers, and with perfect control, picked off the robo units and archons. Not enough scouting from overseers and changelings to see the Tempests. Never transitioned to a Broodlord, Corrupter, Viper, Ling, Infestor, Queen composition (plus optional other units) to ward off Hero's Tempest death-ball composition. Lots of other little things he could work on. He did come into this tournament knowing he has issues with Protoss.
I think Reynor will improve, he needs to do some casual things like fix his Queen positioning, and his mid-to-late game scouting, especially after 6:30. Then he just needs to hold out for a more standard map pool and his ZvP will skyrocket. He's way better on more standard maps.
I don't think he expected Hero to do this well. If Hero got knocked out sooner, Reynor looked good in his ZvT and ZvZ. He just didn't expect Hero to become godly out of the blue. Otherwise, Reynor probably would have been in the top 4, since he would have beat Cure most likely.

Hero is playing so well on this tournament, losing only 5 games to Serral and 2 games to cure. By comparison, Serral lost 3 games to Clem, 2 games to hero and 1 game to maru while playing way less matches than Hero.
The top 4 players, Serral, Dark, Clem and Hero are all very dominant and doing so well!
I want a Serral Hero finals!!! with a Hero win 😊

I think herO makes it to the finals (he embarrassed Clem at their last big tournament a couple months ago). There he either beats Dark or loses to Serral.

it seems recently protoss pro has changed to a style that high templar becoming a staple unit in any matchup, ever since trap back from military, he opened up this gameplay and changed a bit for protoss world
Guys just watch 5:21 to 5:26 ... and be happy with your rank lol. What ever our level, and what ever complaints we have about the other races, it's not that. It's APM. We don't have GM APM, we have the APM of our rank.
It's not even the APM, the contrast between how much Reynor hits his keyboard vs her0 is actually so interesting. her0 just has so much experience and just pattern matches the exact move at the exact time to beat Reynor. This is superior strategy.The APM is just another by product of seeing so many games that the game is ingrained in your head.

I feel like Reynor throw this second game like he was winning macro and micro but i still dont understanding why he decide to go + 3 melee when army was roach hydra lurker.
Also 0 upgrade on armor then he decide to pop 2 spire and no upgrade.
Fight would be much better with +3 range + 3 armor or even 1 or 2 in air upgrade than +3 melee who bring only value for ling harass drop in this game.

I don't think he refused to leave. He was processing the loss, tilted with himself. Before, I would have ridiculed hom also. But after watching many games, I understand why they did that.

Blizzard keeps changing the balance; pros' keep retiring or moving on to new games.
Granted the unbeatable race keeps changing; but it makes for boring games when one race just dominates a tournament.
Result: less viewers = less support for tournament prize pools = less pro players sticking it out = SC dying faster and faster past couple years.
