It was about 36 download and 10 to 12 upload when I was there. I also experienced frequent outages. But it wasnt something I was paying for so it could be possible to do better. Its also been 2 years since Ive been there.
Cartagena is the best but hard to escape higher prices if you want to enjoy your time in popular areas. Regardless, overall Colombia is probably the cheapest country I've been to in latin america next to Peru.
Not true at all. Colombia and it's mentality is nothing close to the first world. I live here in Colombia and it's not even comparable to the first world
@@markplimsoll advertising doesn't affect a nation as much as genetic composition does on a nation. Eg. Guns don't create an enormous murder rate in Jamaica. Jamaican genetics create this behavior. Unfortunately Im no longer in Colombia and wasnt really making videos yet. But id be more than happy to recommend a place in a good neighborhood where the owner will take care of you and can recommend all the good places. Just email me at lostslowtraveler@gmail.com
when you move your camera from right to left.. you should do it slowly. it makes you dizzy the way you do it!!! $20.00 per hour for Spanish lessons,, I think is too EXPENSIVE for COLOMBIA!.
The food scene and especially street food is pretty dismal in Colombia if compared to SE Asia or India. I just went to a mid range burger restaurant in Pereira and it was just under 40,000 pesos for a burger, fries and a drink. In Bangkok, KL or Bali you could eat for two people in a restaurant and get waaay better quality food for $10 USD. Food scene is lame in Colombia if you're used to SE Asia and East Asia. Burgers, chuzos, hotdogs, arepas for street food - that sucks!
@@lostslowtraveler nahh I just get my girlfriends and their moms to cook for me. I've been coming to Colombia for over a decade and know tons of people and have tons of friends. Colombians don't typically invite foreigners to their houses to cook for them. That's not a cultural thing here.

@@lostslowtraveler I felt the same way about a good few parts of Mexico. I'm yet to visit Colombia, but Santa Marta does interest me, hence how I came across your vid! Apologies for the abrupt initial comment ;)
Do you have information on broadband internet speed in Santa Marta (Download/Upload)? Gracias

I have been to Bogota and Medellin and soon Cartagena and looking at this video I can tell Colombians inspire to live like the 1st world !!
They are really wonderful people!

I plan on making it back there eventually. Was originally just looking for a place to live but plans changed.

i like this , good video
Thank you for watching.
Where can I find real estate in El Rodadero and is the buying process complex for foreigners?
Sorry, I cant help you with that at all. Maybe someone in the comment section can. Ill pin this to the top.
Perhaps the next video could be tours and prices of various housing options and what neighborhoods would be best.

Beautiful!
One of my favorite places

This was filmed with camera glasses, so that is me walking and turning my head. Wasnt really planning on doing UA-cam videos at the time.
500-1000 USD for foreigner work seems very high
He also did not mention the fact Colombian employers tend to hire locals over foreigners and you need a cedula to work in the country.

Absolutely agree. But if you find some local friends they can generally cook

Really India? That's legit the worst country in the world to visit

They were trying to sell boat tours. If you are bothered by that, then dont go to tourist areas.
@@lostslowtraveler you're right. I was stereotyping a bit

@ba8898 No problem. Its a great place to visit. I spent 3 months there and cant wait to go back. Just have to finish traveling elsewhere first. Lol
