My uncle is a US Army Veteran. He served right around the time of the Bosnian war in the 82nd Airborne. He has always been an intelligent and witty figure with a strong head, i've always modelled to be after him in some way. I introduced him to the Old Man mission and some of my unit mods and he was so excited about it. This game can really bring people together and make for a ton of fun. Awesome list, subbed.
For those that doesn't know. The F/A-18 at number 1 is, sadly I might add, suspended for the near future. It's a beauty for sure though Oh! And congratulation on your daughter man!
It would be half of the time the Arma Players being pissed about being detected because they run on plain field and the other half being DCS player being pissed about being shot down in seconds. Actually everything would be as usual. Cheers!

Glad to see the old lady is still drawing some attention, and I hope you get the chance to experience the amazing work that Voodoo and his team have done, getting several of the features that didn't port over so well from arma 2 to arma 3 working again, and several new breaths of life.

I initially had Voodoo’s installed but for some reason it wasn’t functioning properly, so i used an older version for my video not realizing Voodoo fixed literally all my grievances I had, ha. So I’ll be making a stand-alone video for the AH64 in the near future :) Thanks again for your guys’ mod!

Nice list mate! Drongo has a few other must have mods too! DCE : Drongo's Command Enhanced, and DEI : Drongo's Enhanced Interface :-D Adds another layer of immersion with pop up GPS unit that let you control AI, just like DAO does with Air assets. Not to mention DMP, his map population mod which is INSANELY good, light and super optimized ✌️✌️
Ved Kay I agree completely! I only put 15 on the list, so I went ahead and put the aviation focused one on there since I primarily focus around flying, but Drongo’s other mods are indeed incredible!
I would say my favourite mod is the HAFM ships and submarine mod. It allows the players to launch realistic land and sea cruise missiles and ship to ship combat.
This has been my fav game/sim series since 2001. Operation Flashpoint, VBS and Arma. Awesome to see how far it has come. Congrats on the baby and awesome video!

Just one thing: If you recommend mods that are doing similar things, it would be nice to include a note about compatibility between said mods. E.g. the WarFX mod says it would not work with the Blastcore mod. As "avid user" (assumingly, as you are recommending it) you can do this alot easier than a mod creator who in worst case has never heard of another mod. In my experience modders are not interested in compatibilities unless they use the other mod themselves or are bothered by people asking the same question over and over. Especially considering how the recommended Blastcore and Hopecore mod are not updated for 3 and 5 years respectivly. [unless you did include a notice and it managed to get past me. Then consider me a fool and don't mind me]
Die Finsternis I have mentioned previously that too many mods together tend to have adverse effects, but I don’t believe I said anything in this video. Warfx is working with Blastcore and Hopecore for me and always has. It’s subtle, but it’s in there if you know what to look for. It seems like some folks have varying experiences which I can’t control. WarFX did literally just update two days ago and even changed its name, so that may be the cause of the problem now. Again, lots outside of my control. But thank you for the suggestion, I’ll make sure and mention that kind of compatibility issue in future.

I found the the AH-64D is very unforgiving to sloppy collective control, I had to learn very quickly to ease the throttle on. You should also check out the Hatchet Framework H-60 mod, it is the Blackhawk equivalent of the AH-64D Project
m8, congrats on becoming a father! and thank you for your service, good sir I instant subbed for that beginning speech on why you keep going back to ArmA. I can definitely relate to you there. I lived in the States for about 10 years, recently got back to my country of birth to take care of family and some business. ArmA is honestly the first ever game I got into after moving to the United States for college some 10 years ago. Been always thinking about enlisting, but never got the chance. I played so many games in these past 10 years, and will definitely be playing more in the future. But nothing really keeps drawing me back like ArmA does. In these years of ArmA, I met so many different people and eventually ended up knowing a lot of guys who served in the militaries across the planet - Dutch, Lithuanian, French, German, you name it. I even met a real 153A who taught me how to fly helos in ArmA 3. This game truly is like lego for adults. With all the mods, all the new content being added, this game just keeps on going!
Great job on the vid. I'm a huge of fan of arma but haven't nailed down the aviation in arma... I love other flight sims but would love to get into arma flight a bit more. Thanks for your work, you earned a sub.

i think you are using vanilla thermal when talking about the thermal overhaul mod. HALO jump is also a bit off when the C-130 is banking hard while troops were jumping nice vid btw, that's some really high quality and professional ArmA3 videos

@@Viper1Zero was doing some HALO ops on my team these few days so I am a bit picky on that lol. The new USAF mod C-17 really nails the green light, it's really cool doing gear checks and waiting for the green light. Now what we need is a walkable cargo deck so we can gear up and walk the ramp together
@@josh_jc_cheng A walkable C-17 would be great. If I'm not mistaken there is a walkable vehicles mod out there that may do that, but I believe its a bit buggy with a lot of players on one aircraft. Am new to ARMA 3 online cause i mostly played it on a crack ARMA 3 in one of my Net Cafe but now i finally able to bought the PC of my dreams, buy and Spend 290 hours on ARMA 3 this vid totally help me with these immersion mods i been looking for

Hands down one of the best Arma 3 related channels, I'd say. The video titled "The beauty of Arma" was fan-tas-tic. Can't really imagine how you find the time with the newborn (congrats btw!).

With over 6000 hours in the ARMAverse I haven't played in 4 years because I've been traveling. I'm lying at a camp in a forest right now and just closed my eyes for two minutes and let that familiar violin piccolo crescendo wash my mind once again.

Absolutely love your List, I definitely agree on the F/A-18 being the best and most realistic mod the ArmA 3 modding community has to offer. Gonna have to take a look at those graphics mods soon :D
It is a well-known fact that armoured vehicles are loaded into aircraft with the use of the Force. It's also why they're called the "Air Force". ...I'll show myself out.
If you plan on using Ai in your missions note that the Ai is programmed with Vanilla aircraft performance in mind. Using mods that change flight dynamics, such as ACE or AWESOME will dramatically increase the amount of fatal stalls suffered by AI pilots in combat. In other words, they will just fall out of the sky during hard maneuvers, potentially ruining your mission. Also note that you will have trouble using vanilla aircraft on short fields, as the main method of simulating "realism" is to cut the thrust to weight ratio.

Those mods are fantastic, I agree. The submarine launched cruise missiles are awesome. Love seeing them explode out of the water.

Hands down one of the best Arma 3 related channels, I'd say. The video titled "The beauty of Arma" was fan-tas-tic. Can't really imagine how you find the time with the newborn (congrats btw!).

Honestly its not that hard, I take care of my wife and she takes care of me. As long as I let her sleep after being up all night feeding she'll keep the baby, haha. Its give and take, just like any relationship :)

Also for the AH-64, make sure you get the Official Project on the workshop, it has a lot of improvements over the one I showed in this video. The official project one wasn't working when I initially did this video so my grievances with the weapons are no longer there. lol. Definitely worth adding to your mod pack.

If you plan on using Ai in your missions note that the Ai is programmed with Vanilla aircraft performance in mind. Using mods that change flight dynamics, such as ACE or AWESOME will dramatically increase the amount of fatal stalls suffered by AI pilots in combat. In other words, they will just fall out of the sky during hard maneuvers, potentially ruining your mission. Also note that you will have trouble using vanilla aircraft on short fields, as the main method of simulating "realism" is to cut the thrust to weight ratio.
Very true, the AI is pretty dumb sometimes. However I haven't had that issue in a while, at least since the last major game update.
