- Ray Walston accepts the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama and gives a pleased and appreciative speech, taking time to thank the cast and crew of PICKET FENCES at the 47th Emmys in 1995
Ray Walston what a Gentleman ! Happy for him winning an Emmy.
So glad he finally won! He has always been one of my favorite actors!
such a great Theme and one of the best series with exceptional cast!
Ray Walston had class. We thank you, Mr. Walston.
Bill Bixby and Ray Walston were there in my childhood. Never been happier for an actor.
Should tell you he was not a fan of My Favorite Martian. But Judge Bone and Mr. Hand are to of the most lovable characters in film.
@@blabbermouth777 His attitude softened as the years went by and his career endured despite his fears that playing a Martian would derail it. Hey, one of his final roles was playing in the film version of My Favorite Martian, coming full circle as it were. RIP to a great actor.
@@HerrEllsworth on Picket Fences Halloween episode he wears a Martian costume.
Ray Walston was the goods! Just a great, versatile performer.
This clip makes me so happy. Loved Ray Walston since I watched reruns of "My Favorite Martian" as a kid and loved him even more in his last great role on "Picket Fences". This Emmy was well overdue and he won a second one the following year! Not bad for a guy in his 80's :D
gjolb I loved his speech how short and to the point it was and how he got to saying thanks right away to the proper people. Nowadays at these awards shows I feel like the celebrities just ramble on and on and it's when the music starts playing do they want to get to the point.
OMG what a class act Mr. Walston was!
MR. RAY WALSTON: A CLASS ACT ACTOR AND GENTLEMEN. THE AUDIENCE SHOULD OF GIVEN HIM THE STANDING OVATION HE DESERVED AFTER A 60 YEAR CAREER AS AN ACTOR. I GREW UP WATCHING HIM ON " MY FAVORITE MARTIAN", AND LOVED HIM ON " PICKET FENCES". SO HAPPY HE WON THIS EMMY! 👏 👏 👏 R.I.P. MR. WALSTON, LEGEND'S ARE NEVER FORGOTTEN. ✝ 👼 📿 ⛪ ❤
Heavens to Uncle Martin !! I love this clip ! The late great Mr Walston was a truly gifted actor ! And one class act ! THANK YOU so much for sharing this with us ! CHEERS !! :-)
While it was not LIKELY Mr.Walston would be recognized in ,1983 as a supporting actor nominee in FAST TIMES At RIDGEMONT HIGH, he certainly was worthy of it. Few actors have portrayed a concerned high school teacher with the comedic bravado Walston utilized as Mr. Hand in that forgotten movie gem. RIP.
In what bizarro alternate universe is Fast Times "forgotten?" It's considered one of the 80's teen classics! It's part of popular culture.
Ray Walston has great acting in Picket Fences: Seasons 3-4.
Ray Walston Well Deserved.
It seems like almost every castmember of this show won an Emmy. Great writing and acting. Too bad it never did well in the ratings.
判事役凄く好きでした!奇妙なローマで唯一の良心かもしれない。
また日本でも見られたらいいなあ。
Nothing but class.
Ray Walston, one of the best. Another class act who won an overdue Emmy.
He should have ended the speech by saying, "Shut up" and then, "Get out!" :)
metro121482, that would’ve been great. Unfortunately, so few people saw the show so they wouldn’t have understood the joke.
No, he should have said "what are you people? on dope?" It was like mr. Hand was on the stage.
@@BigNoseDog No, during that time, it was huge! The show was winning Emmy after Emmy after Emmy for several years, that wouldn't have happened if it didn't have that much viewers. Unfortunately, its life was cut short and so soon. And for that reason, only a few in this generation knows about it. But during its time, it was a huge hit.
I kept thinking that. Maybe less the shut up part, but ending it with a "Now everybody...get out" with a wink would've been classic.
Like it when actors stay classy and don't use this show as a chance to launch a polical talk show.
@@josephensworth7044 check your facts. The show was never a ratings hit. That’s why it was canceled after just 4 years.
So deserving. After decades in the business he finally won an Emmy for the role of a lifetime in an excellent though low-rated program that should have reached a bigger audience.
Always loved him as Uncle Martin and Boothby. Also in "The Stand," "South Pacific," and "Paint Your Wagon."
So glad he won it. He’s always been my favorite Martian.
He was so cute and funny!
Love this guy
A great character actor. Remember South Pacific
Mr. Spicoli could learn a thing or two from this man, and this man will come over to Mr. Spicoli's house to teach him if need be!
Right on, Boothby! 👽
so great, so great
Aloha Mr. Hand! you were so funny to me as a kid. what are you people, on dope! My favorite Martian forever.
0:09 If that was Judge Bone, he'd say to Jill "You do that again and I will hold you in contempt!" 😂😂😂
The Halloween episode where he wore antennae above his head. Lol.
Mr. Hand 🖐!
Never heard of it. When was it aired?
1992-1996. Created by David E Kelley (Ally McBeal, The Practice, Boston Legal). ;)
I know that dude!
shame all the great ones are almost all gone glad i was fortunate enough to live in a time when the great ones were still with us gone but not forgotten no never forgotten b
Do any of you recall what show & episode it was, in which Ray Walston, playing a judge, made an inside-joke comment about Martians, or little green men from Mars?
Mr.Hand :)
