Actually it would probably help spring bar manufactures overall as more people would be keen to have interchangeable straps, all of which will need a set of bars!
@@PerthWAtch what i meant was, the amount of spring bars lost which caused by the struggle of getting it out would be much less...hence less ppl buying from sellers
Thank you for this review. I was always puzzled about the two equally-sized pointers on this watch and your review made it clear. The hour hand is a real joke! One has to really search it out. So reading the time at a glance is ruled out! I really feel this watch is very overpriced given the fact that it is powered by a Miyota movement and mineral glass! Also, I am quite disappointed that the dial really is not based on any meaningful design and is just a marketing gimmick. I chose the titanium MY Series over this which is priced lower and yet has better fundamentals and in my country, it costs less in comparison.
"Weak piece" is but a frame of mind. Letting go of expectations allows inner core being to manifest into the world as infinite potential... resulting in Strong Marketing- the essence of the Consumerverse. Namaste : )

Wow, that seconds hand is one of a kind. Really creative idea. In a world of imitations, I love original designs, and this one truly qualifies on every level. A bit quirky, but a pretty neat-o watch.
Thanks for that - well this one definitely original, no doubt about that. Some of their other designs have more inspiration from elsewhere but they’re still different.
G'day Ivan , I hope your staying safe and well mate . Very interesting watch , I think with its couple of faults its still a conversion piece and looks good on wrist as long as you don't need to tell the time in a hurry . Great content as usual Ivan thanks for the great job you do .
I was feeling as one and at peace ☯️, then I saw this watch and Zen it was all gone..... Everything is down to personal choice, but I just don't get these kind of watches. I am someone who actually looks at my watch to tell the time as well as enjoy having the jewellery/design. When form overtakes function like this I'd just rather wear a bracelet. Needless to say certainly not one for me. But as with most some will love it and peace and harmony to them if they do
I thought it looked cool... but zen I tried to tell the time and ended up smashing stuff in frustration ;) Yeah that's a fair point... a bracelet might do the same job, although it would need to be a large bracelet!
Overall I like the design but the hour hand needs to be more prominent perhaps longer. It is after all supposed to be a timepiece not something to admire in a state of altered consciousness. Thanks for your review as always succinct and honest 👍🏼
Yeah agreed... you gotta wonder maybe they were going for those on pure drug/meditation high state, hence no need to actually tell the time hence you would simply just know it innately :D
Hi Ivan. captivating piece. As you said, avant-garde art watch which threatens to overturn entire conventional watch industry...NOT! ha ha ha. However, it is a conversational & riveting piece to say the least. Ciga is brave enough to put that of high price which can be copied at less than 30% of their selling price. (basically it is all about the dial and that dial can be copied in no time, as we all know). I am sure that Ciga/Xiao Mi has enough capital to make some captivating watches to open up new market or just to fancy some watch experts in Ciga company. No matter what, there will be some customers who love to show this off, for a while. As a watch, to tell the time, it is a complete failure, but I am sure they knew that going in. thanks a lot for the review and have a wonderful day!
Another $10k campaign, and another that's funded several times over such that they can actually cover the development costs even if they hadn't already had it all sorted before the Kickstarter marketing ploy! Honestly I think this is their worst piece yet, among the ones I've had in hand... but obviously there's a market for it, somehow!
Hiya,I thought their RM homage style watch was pretty cool considering how much the real things are but this offering is beyond me totally? Each to their own though.Cheers as per... Len.
I must say I own quite a few of their timepieces (from the square one to the Z steel series). I like almost all of them. But this one does not speak to me, and adding to that - mineral crystal and 8N24 movement with this hefty price? I think only people that buy into this Zen concept would buy this watch. Cut the price to 169 USD and we'll talk :)
I don't see how designers can keep churning out watches where the hands are almost invisible against the background. It excludes so many people. And they call themselves a "design" company. Very poor.
I've had more dinner platy watches, but yeah I'm not getting rock & sand either, though I think I get where they're going. The Bausele had the literal sand :)
@@Jaycelestra of course, watch is very personal choice. I also find it "not very attractive as a watch", but for me, it is more of an interesting piece than ugly piece. thanks Jayson
LOL. Bulova have a quartz movement designed to seep like a mechanical movement. This is a mechanical movement that appears to tick like a quartz. I have owned and do own Miyota 8 series watches, and non of them do that. With regards to the watch, YUCK
Probably because none of them had such long and slim dual limb hands that accentuate the ticking. All mechanical movements tick along... some are just more perceivable in their ticking than others.
Pretentious is the word here. Reeks of it! I honestly felt embarrassed reading the zen philosophy on the kickstarter ad. Gibberish is right! That said, it’s cool and different, just not for me. Great review!
So is it not possible to ask your local watchmaker to replace this ugly transparent plate for the hour needle with a needle? Potentially one that is equally long on both sides with one side completely red and the other side stainless steel. The plastic plate is ugly as it gives strange reflections and you can see the side of the plate
Cos I read a book about it once and therefore consider myself an expert. All that needs to be said is: “there are no straight lines in nature” ... (or visible mechanical movements either for that matter.)
Yeah, these guys could stand an art history course. Maybe a comparative religion course as well. Oversized, illegible and faux spirituality bordering on cultural appropriation. I struggle to imagine an occasion where I would wear this thing.
Good Lord! Is this some kind of sick joke? Absolutely repellant piece of kit. I'm willing to accept that they may have designed better stuff in the past but honestly this is laughable. A complete waste of a perfectly good Miyota movement. I wouldn't wear it for a bet. Definately no CIGA here.
Lucky you can tell the time on your phone 😀 thanks Ivan
Watch to have conversations.
Phone to tell time.
Sorted (in reverse) :)
