    Alan is really one of the only people I believe when he says he doesn’t have to pack food because he can eat as he goes. He has proven his abilities in an extremely public way

    Excellent info! Great video. Like that you are self-contained and can support yourself a long time with a canteen, cup and some chow on you. Most setups I see people don't have any water.
    I love seeing people rocking an LBE style over chest rigs and other modern set ups. I think a lot of people look at what gear was used in the GWOT by US forces and think that is the same stuff an unsupported, mobile insurgent would use CONUS. Mission drives gear not the other way.
    Chest rigs are great for riding in an armored vehicle, CQB or police actions but I don't feel they are the best for a rural fighter under austere conditions where you are crawling through mud, up and down providing security, crossing water etc. The weight carries easier on my hips and seems to tire me out less than a chest rig where people can tend to be lazy and stand instead of going prone. Also in the winter I'd rather have as little compressing my insulating layers and in the summer as much chest open to remove heat as possible.

    Great video. I just watched this, and I built one of these almost exactly the same set up about 4 months ago.

    Excellent video, I would say though that your canteen pouch can be utilized more effectively by removing the 1 inch webbing from the flap, then tucking the flap into the pouch. It then provides a slot for the canteen lid to fit through.

    What’s funny I see guys with three times that much in 72hr b.o.b. which weigh a lot. He has everything he would need on that kit to survive for a short period of time. Nice!👍 Makes sense

    Excellent video. I have a similar war belt. I like the bigger butt pack. I currently have a very small one but will take from your expertise and go with a bigger one for the reasons you mentioned.
    Thanks for sharing

    I have watched the videos about line 1 and 2 gear. I use a war belt as my line 2 gear. What are your thoughts on a plate carrier and daypack/sustainment pouch as your 3rd line gear? Some time after a catastrophic event I feel the armor would be welcomed. Is the weight worth the protection? I've used LBE gear for different situations and appreciate the mobility and efficacy.

    How does your weight distribution feel? I have a setup similar to yours, but my left side (having all the mags) weighs down much more than my pistol side. Any ideas on load balance would be appreciated.

    More ammo the better, you can never have enough. An I use almost the same setup for hunting, minus the ammo pouch's an extra ammo an snake bite kit included in the buttock also, but I'm in the swamps.

    Add one small bottle of Oil to that kit some people use a editable oil or rem oil CLP Ext player choice but you want to be able to lube the weapon

    I know this is an older video but I'd like to know how you attached the buttpack to the molle. Do you just use the lashing straps on the buttpack?

  • @mrd7067
    @mrd7067 6 років тому +1

    I`d prefer a double chestseal with hydrogel. Works way better than the improvisation with tape + foil.
    Trauma sheers are a good idea too.

    I would think that is your 2nd line gear. Pack is 3rd line. Right?

    • @spencerchandler8313
      @spencerchandler8313 5 років тому

      Not necessarily. Third line is sustained fighting load line gear that you can use to extend your second line but help you get to long term solutions Sometimes a pack would be too much when it would be easier to use pouches. I emulated the tyr scout load out which is a lighter version of Alan's kit but his kit is very well thought out.
