OMG DAN!!! This vlog is so emotional for me. My eyes teared up. You're so good at being a visual story teller. I hope you keep telling visual stories. I felt all the emotion and honesty of this vlog. You are a legend! Its time to watch the vlog again! You've achieved an awesome accomplishment Daniel 32560!!! You've learned how much you can endure and accomplish IF you set you mind on it. Run Dan Run! 👍👊👍👊
Wonderful video , I did 2oceans this year in South Africa and loved the experience (very tough mind) and the country even more. Comrades 2018 for me terrified but can't wait!
Hats off to you, sir! I have so much respect for you and all the people who participated. It demands a great deal of fitness, but even more self-discipline and willpower to achieve something like this! Well done, Dan!
I also ran and finished the comrades this year, i have to agree that it truly humbles a person. It is pain and torture from beginning to end, but the amazing feeling you experience as you arrive at the stadium is overwhelming , words can not describe it!!! Congratulations for finishing, you are truly strong!
That's awesome. Are you planning to run again next year? I have no words for that day and I'm not allowing myself to watch this video again or I'll want to start training for next year! haha
Definitely i' going back next year. This was my 1st one and i want to get my back to back medal. Your video brought back so much good memories. Do it again, you know you want to! ;)
Ah, I'm so happy that it did! I know - I'm far too tempted. I'd love to do Two Oceans next year though and not sure if my body couldn't cope with both haha. Enjoy the training!!
Congratulations, what an achievement. And a great message too. Just finished reading your blog post. You're preciously honest and inspiring. Keep it up! :)
Wow, insane... massive props! Just did a 17km run today, preparing for a 10 miles run in April and maybe half a marathon in Brussels after that. Nothing compared to this though
Just checked your Strava. Well done, very even pacing for the elevation and that last mile was a belter. Come and try Highland Fling up in Scotland next year, 56 miles trail race on the WHW.
Inspiring and motivating! I thought I was a good runner but I'm nothing compared to you. I'm 18 and I'm going to run my first marathon this year. Do you have any advice? Tips or tricks are very much appreciated! Keep on running
Ah, not at all! Distance doesn't mean I'm any better - you can trust me on that one ha!! My advice would probably be go easy on the marathons!! 18 is super young for a first marathon so I'd probably stick to halfs if it were me. If you want to go further, maybe go super super easy. That's just my advice :)
It looks like the registration is closed for this year. Google LeadvilleRaceSeries dot com. It is the Leadville Trail MTB. This is mountain trail running starting at 10,152 feet and climbs to 12,424. They have a video. Something to train for to be sure. You will need a crew to support you so bring George and Ben and get spectacular Colorado mountains video. It's brutal. It's beautiful. You'll love it.
such a great achievement!! wish I could do this one day - both my dad and grandad have done comrades 13 times now (with numbers 82 and 714!) but at the moment can barely run 5k😂 well done again!!
Nice work mate! What time did you finish it? Nothing beats crossing the line of an Ultra, such a special moment in so many ways. Any other future races planned?
Thanks Harry! A gruelling 10.5 hours or something around that! Was absolutely awesome. I'm going easy on the races for now, maybe a few park runs, Two Oceans next year would be cool! How about you?
Congrats dude. Good job. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed hearing Shosholoza.. Beautiful.

Holy Sh**! wow! Congratulations, you smached it! 90km that's a Long way to run!
Thank you! It was a flipping long way haha. Well worth every second though
I bet! I watched a couple of videos of people running a marathon and i will definitely train for one as well - so pumped! :D
Inspiring and motivating! I thought I was a good runner but I'm nothing compared to you. I'm 18 and I'm going to run my first marathon this year. Do you have any advice? Tips or tricks are very much appreciated! Keep on running

Dan Carter Okay thank you for your advice :) I run a half a marathon nearly every week for practice. It feels natural and I take it easy.
see you in 2017 for the back 2 back!
Haha!! I don't think so...! I'd like to give Two Oceans a crack next year though :)
Right on Dan. Absolutely killed it. I don't get how you did it cause there's no way I would've finished😂 keep it up man
Ah thank you Alec! I think it was just mind over matter :)
Congratulations Dan! Next up: Come to the U.S. and run the Leadville 100 (160.9 kilometers) in the beautiful Colorado mountains!
When is this?? I'm so keen! Colorado looks beautiful!

Incredible, good job! What's the next challenge?
I'd love to do 2 Oceans Marathon but nothing planned just yet!
such a great achievement!! wish I could do this one day - both my dad and grandad have done comrades 13 times now (with numbers 82 and 714!) but at the moment can barely run 5k😂 well done again!!
That's insane!!! You definitely can - especially with those genes 😉

Who came here from Mr Ben Brown?
Nice one 👏👏 did you return to run it again?
Congratulations Dan! Excuse my ignorance but which song/hymn are you all singing at the beginning? Once again, great achievement, very inspiring!
Thanks Marta!! Not atall, it's called "Shosholoza", it's a really popular South African anthem from the old mining days.
Hey bro what camera did u use to record this run ?
Shossoloza
