I feel like it's because he has a good niche to be in now; he doesn't have to descend into Joisey Rage to make himself entertaining. Being in a group like the Lads also seems to help ablate his anger, especially since they can support him in the games he's not good at (and vice-versa).
I've tried their other Destiny videos and haven't really enjoyed them, but I heard about what happened here and decided I'd watch. Boy I'm glad I did. The salt, Geoff's peacekeeping, the editing, top notch.
The first 2 minutes are amazing. And I love the How Do Words Good callback at 3:28! Salty Ryan starts at 12:30! (until about 14 minutes in) Jack tries to recall salty Ryan at 16:35 Geoff's team support to try to cool the flames at 18:00
I feel like the writers did a good job building conflict between the characters this episode. It's going to make the cathartic relief even more satisfying when they finally complete the raid. I hope they include some sort of reconciliation scene for Ryan to help him work out his unresolved anger issues.
Ryan was right that the counselors weren't *that* hard and it seemed like no one was paying attention for counselors, but after switching and everything started working better, Ryan wouldn't let go of the salt until Jack fisted the bear with "Ryan, what happened?"
Ryan could have done more, he horded his super the entire time and he had the arc staff. But really it was all of them, no one was using their heavies til like 10 mins in, i mean look at how much purple blocks were around!
actually he might have hoarded his super on accident. if you remember when both he and alfredo both poped their super. they were confused. ryan might have forgot his super was polevdancer
Actually, Jeremy started it when he said "Oh, i don't like this, Alright you do this" to Ryan, basically telling Ryan to do his job for him. Jeremy's attitude is shit, can't take criticism.
*Remembers coin argument, in which both Gavin and Ryan were completely right, but couldn’t explain themselves to the point that they were literally having completely different arguments*
For those curious, the guards of Buckingham palace ARE allowed to walk away from hecklers. If you're enough of a jerk to one or try to make them laugh/show emotion, they could easily lose their job over that. Because of this, most are now stationed behind fences so people won't touch them or do dumb stuff like stick fruits to the end of their bayonets. Don't be mean to them. They aren't paid enough for putting up with passer-by's b.s.
Not to mention that if a higher up is around (I think captain is the rank) they can order to present arms, which can and will hurt hecklers if they're poking at the guards (I've seen it happen a couple of times)
Naonna Pryderi I mean if you touch one you’re violating the law and he’s well without his rights to aim his gun at you. They’re fully trained soldiers with fully loaded firearms..
Rewatching it, Ryan totally caused the raid to take forever. When Alfredo is returning with the 3rd standard the first time, he walks away in protest when he could've held off the Liberators until Alfredo got back and then they could progress
Hector Brown eh I think this (part) is water under the bridge for Ryan and Jeremy. Jack is the one that escalated things to the degree we saw. I honestly think if Jack hadn't stepped in and poked the bear, Ryan and Jeremy would have had their back and forth jabs and it would have ended real quick. That's just how they do.
So, I believe this is Part 1, where 4 is the Breaking of Alfredo. (As Michael said, Part 1 and 4 are full of salt) As mentioned on Twitter, he goes from Pure Fredo to Tainted Sauce.
I realize that raid videos don't usually do well overall but they have to be my favorite! Seeing you guys working together, or not, is a blast! Please keep making them. Take my views!
Jack and Jeremy are the kind of friends who start shit and then blame it on the person who finally had the balls to speak up about it. Hint hint, Ryan getting pissed off but Jeremy and Jack play the victim Then you got Geoff being the child that stops divorced parents from fighting bc he’s in the room which is pretty hilarious
I get like Destiny Raid is like the one video of Achievement Hunter when everyone loses their shit, but that's only like a quarter of the video. The rest of it is them actually communicating working together like they always do. It's even cool to see this group argue and fight like this, and still stick together afterwards. it really shows the great love they have for each other
TheRupertLitterbin yeah that whole argument was written and rehearsed so many times, Micheal even said how their biggest concern was Ryan completely messing up his parts
Yeah of course talking about the script was scripted. They’ve developed their writing abilities so well that they are now capable of breaking the 4th wall in a meaningful way. It gives more authenticity to the whole production
I'm on Ryans side in the Entrance side of things, Jeremy literally had to walk TWO STEPS FORWARD, and he would have seen the Councillors, and up until they got overwhelmed and Ryan didn't do anything to make a point, They literally didn't lose a single standard, unlike when it was Jeremy doing it, and even when Ryan died and put his controller down, while I do agree that it is a bit childish, Jeremy and Jack started being childish well before he did
@@elvinthegengar6083 but that's because Ryan was right, his job was way easier so he took on the harder job and did well and Jeremy handled the easier job fine.
"Destiny has the greatest community of any game. There are always great people to play with, and great experiences to share with your friends" -said some developer
I fucking love Geoff's attempts to calm everyone down. That saved the video for me. If they had just yelled at each other the whole time it wouldnt have been nearly as good
16:40 was like when a baby falls down and hurts itself it doesn't cry for a second but then everyone around goes "ooh! aww, poor thing" and then it starts bawling. If Michael and Geoff hadn't started yelling I bet money Ryan would've done nothing. He didn't have the idea to get mad until they started yelling at Jack.
Alfredo trying to make them feel good by saying opening the door is the hardest part when he knows damn well that shit is the easiest part of the raid.
You can definitely tell Geoff's Army training pays off when you watch these things. In 2 minutes he defused Ryan and pulled everyone together for that last push with the staffs.... staves?... staffs....
I only watched the videos and the memes of the salt explosion, but I gotta say Geoff doing cleanup and cooldown duty afterwards was genuinely impressive.
Ryan was very salty this episode. Though I must admit Jack really wasn't helping with annoying him and such. Great video anyways! And thanks to Michael for taking it off of politics, truly appreciate that!
zat1245 Wow. Talk about straw manning. At no point did I say no one should share what they think. But tis true there are good times and places. Politics is a subject almost always best talked about with good friends or family that usually have around the same ideals as you and even if they don't the relationship you have with them is strong enough to survive any debate that may come up. Imagine if you went to a job interview and amidst the job interview you just started spouting your political opinion all over the interviewer. You think you'd get the job? I am anti-trump and I still don't find any kind of politics against him entertaining. Because I along with many other people just don't like hearing politics in our entertainment either. Because many people who watch this show do not come to a group called "Achievement Hunter" a comedy group based around video games...for politics. You can have opinions and say what you want. And shit if Ah wanted to make a whole podcast mocking and destroying trump they are free to go right on ahead but let me say I doubt that video would be watched much by fans and they I am sure know this. UA-cam is a platform that allows almost direct feedback from your audience and if they don't like it they can do whatever they please until well...view and sponsorships fall because they always want to state their unwanted political opinion on every video because people like you are such fanboys for every little thing they do that they can never be criticized constructively. Goodcall.
Bill Berger He reminds me of this one raid team member who gave me an actual anxiety attack because they would always get the rest of the team to scream at and insult me at every little mistake.
Struggled to the end of this one, but I was impressed with Jeremy manning up and making an apology even if it was warranted or not. Good on you for being the bigger man here 👍.
Icecase, sure they took too long to realize what they were supposed to do, but Ryan's attitude opens himself up for criticism when he fails and him acting like a child afterwards kinda destroys his point. If he didn't start the sarcasm he wouldn't have gotten it back. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he did, I enjoyed every second of it and can't wait for part four, but he was a bit of a prick and then they all were.
I cant believe we get to witness the death of achievement hunter COD? Destiny Raid RIP (also Geoff calling Alfredo Trevor so nonchalantly was the best)
Geoff in part 1: "We are all family why can't we all get along!?"
Geoff in part 4: "We're not friends we're coworkers"
Somethings off when the only guy not yelling is the guy who started his career by doing nothing but yelling.
Micheal aint like tht in real life hes chill af dude
Michael yelled a few times, idk what you're talking about
Nah man Michael is such a cool dude in real life that and he wasn't in the "Ryan" stage.
it's weird how Michael, the rage quit guy, has become one the least aggressive and confrontational of them over the years.
I feel like it's because he has a good niche to be in now; he doesn't have to descend into Joisey Rage to make himself entertaining. Being in a group like the Lads also seems to help ablate his anger, especially since they can support him in the games he's not good at (and vice-versa).
I guess becoming a dad helps also he's just better at being funny now so he doesn't have to devolve to his ragequit persona
He trained so well in the rage that he learned to avoid it.
@@phi0_ Well that's not true at all. Just hand him a lollipop on October 31.
Might be one of the few who doesn't really enjoy watching Destiny but by god the legend around this raid destroying relationships, I'm all in

Despite all the salt in this video, I thoroughly enjoyed Geoff's positivity.
When Ryan Died and Jacks like "What Happened?" had me dieing with how they edited it lmaoo

holy shit yes it is

I hope they include some sort of reconciliation scene for Ryan to help him work out his unresolved anger issues.
randomrobin1 The script writers deserve an emmy.
Ryan's not been the insane guy for a while so all that pent up insanity turned into pure rage. he's now the Mad (angry) King.
randomrobin1 this script is better than rvb season 15
i hope they include some unnecessary romantic tension
They don't have Mavin for that
Ryan was right that the counselors weren't *that* hard and it seemed like no one was paying attention for counselors, but after switching and everything started working better, Ryan wouldn't let go of the salt until Jack fisted the bear with "Ryan, what happened?"
Dude Jeremy was condescending because of the script.
Ryan could have done more, he horded his super the entire time and he had the arc staff. But really it was all of them, no one was using their heavies til like 10 mins in, i mean look at how much purple blocks were around!

I love damage control Geoff XD
Geoff's hufflepuff side is showing....

lol
i love it when geoff tries to be nice to everyone when trying to keep the peace
Love the salt

I love Ryan during the raids, he's usually not wrong but is horrible at explaining himself. Well they all are actually.

Andres Valencia he is indeed a hufflepuff we rule the world
He's a hustlepuff.
Actually I think Ryan is in Gryffindor.
what do Hufflepuff's do?
I'm late to the party, but Ryan's a Ravenclaw, he said it on an AH panel and it's on the twitter post they did
Rewatching it, Ryan totally caused the raid to take forever. When Alfredo is returning with the 3rd standard the first time, he walks away in protest when he could've held off the Liberators until Alfredo got back and then they could progress

TheRupertLitterbin yeah that whole argument was written and rehearsed so many times, Micheal even said how their biggest concern was Ryan completely messing up his parts
Erik Gardner are you being serious they script their arguments?
ralph god no, AH mentions several times that people think their videos are completely scripted so they sarcastically joke about that from time to time
Erik Gardner 😂😂 had me shook for a minute a need my salt to be authentic lmao
Yeah of course talking about the script was scripted. They’ve developed their writing abilities so well that they are now capable of breaking the 4th wall in a meaningful way. It gives more authenticity to the whole production
