Not trying to bring old drama back, but I don’t think Geoff was even the close of voice of reason. He agreed with Ryan saying doing is better than explaining since visually you can get a grasp on the raid while I do agree with this. Michael, Jeremy, and Jack had absolutely not clue how to do the raid, in turn, makes the video kinda boring. The best part of a raid is when everyone does their part to beat the raid and it is a cooperation. Michael is the voice of reason since Michael knowing the situation and tries to explain that he can’t hear Alfredo at all since 6 people are talking (mostly Ryan talking which doesn’t allow the others to hear their part). Geoff tries to rebuttal saying speak louder and that I can hear him through his headphones tho. The real issue with this statement is that Geoff headphone doesn’t work which means that he cant hear 6 people in his ears while everyone does and why would Michael take out his headphone to hear Alfredo if the whole goal of the headphones is to hear other people to begin with. Ryan says he should just talk or talk louder but he is the one speaking over everyone which makes it difficult to hear Alfredo who is clearly speaking quite loud. I am siding with Michael and Jeremy. Just for the main reasons that there are editors to edit the explanation of the raid, Ryan is clearly speaking over everyone; which doesn’t allow anyone to hear Alfredo, Geoff saying Alfredo is mumble mouth; which is incorrect, and as an audience, I wouldn’t want to watch 20-30 worth of tries in a video (if they were all shown or even cut to short periods). I would rather watch a video of guys who I like finish a difficult raid and knowing what they do before hand. It is mostly because people in the comments would bash at them; not knowing how to do the raid even tho they could have been explained about it before. Geoff tried to keep the peace and they started arguing. Then Ryan with some residual salt wanted to go home after the earlier spat and so did the whole learn by doing. That pissed off the lads side. Michael tried to explain, Jeremy was pissed so he babbled, Ryan screamed back, Geoff took Ryan’s side for no reason, Jack was being Jack, and Alfredo snapped. Did I miss anything?
Not for no reason. Geoff was also probably bored to tears by the explanation for the dog part and knew they would have had to deal with the same or worse with the boss.
He would have liked it. The other raid video's were not very fun because they got alfredo to walk them all through it offscreen. Compare that to their other raid video's, where they only have a slight clue about what's going on, and how fun they are. Alfredo, by explaining everything, cut out most of the good content.
You say that like they didn't get almost the entirety of the Oryx raid explained to them by flying Andrew Panton in. Also for the Iron Banner raid they all knew exactly what to do but it was just people fking up those aspects like Geoff being unable to jump properly that made it entertaining. Could you imagine that series if they didn't know what being empowered meant and that they had to slam the back of the raid boss and just kept wiping again and again? IDK about you but that does not sound like good content. Just get the fight explained and THEN learn by doing, nothing wrong with that.
This was the funniest video I have ever seen in the entire of AH's history with Ryan being mad af and Alfredo not being creamy but becoming more of an Aribiatta.
As someone who did this raid when it first came out and as an experienced sherpa on D1, if there was the option to kick Ryan out of the team I would have done it. I remember someone jumping the gun and shooting the chalice and we then died within 2 minutes as no-one knew what they were doing, we reset and someone explains and although it took a few tries we completed it because both teams knew what they were doing from a calm explanation where people could ask questions if they were unsure about the mechanics instead of having to yell over each other with time constraints it was much easier. I may like Ryan in a lot of their other content, but after watching the Salt Raid, I wanted to punch him in the face and for him to shut up and let Alfredo explain.
I mean, people are all agreeing with Ryan and everything and while I do see his point, if you look at the history of the Achievement hunter fanbase we've always yelled at them saying 'Why don't you know how to do this? You're doing it the wrong way! You guys are dumb! How can you miss something so obvious?! How are these guys so bad a games! Well, now we had a time where they wanted to learn how to do it and Ryan gets all uppity about it. I'm pretty sure listening to a 5 minute explanation wasn't going to kill anyone watching.
Not to mention that fans watching, who haven't done the raid yet, could've learned how to do it while also being entertained. It woulda been a win-win for everyone involved.
How many other videos get comments like "ugh they aren't doing anything this is boring" they have to think of the entertainment first, then the actual objective.
@Naters How is he stupid? They even suggest, in the video, that they could edit out, or at least edit down, an explanation of how the raid works, so that they could know what's happening without boring viewers.
I like how the only problem is that there's too much yelling to do what anyone wants to do, because as soon as something is going to start- they all start yelling about how it should be happening
I mean, that basically is the side Fredo/Michael/anyone who's not on Ryan's side is on. Nobody's saying "spend an hour going over the plan in detail", just... let Fredo explain the overall gist and then they can figure out the specifics as they go along.
The Destiny 2 raid videos have become my new favorite AH productions (complete with some fun editing work), and the animations took them to the next level. I love seeing them put side-by-side like this!

Update: I wanna say on an off topic maybe a month or two ago geoff said he agreed with Ryan because he thought Ryan was alone on his arguement
Alfredo pausing after Ryan shoots the chalice was just hilarious.
"Ryan you need to have sex more" NO, NO HE DOESNT
Lmao fantastic comment, I cringed a bit hearing Michael say that.
It seems he took that advice to heart.
I would have loved to see Ryan's reaction if Alfredo left and got replaced by someone like Gavin or Andy.
'Heyooo, here comes Andy!'
Andy as in Andrew Panton?
This was the funniest video I have ever seen in the entire of AH's history with Ryan being mad af and Alfredo not being creamy but becoming more of an Aribiatta.
Gawd I'm so uncomfortable but man was that great
Imma take a swing...I feel like Ryan was pissy to begin with. Michael (being the voice of reason) try to calm him alone throughout the video
I already didn't side with Ryan originally in this video... And especially now.
I'm still baffled that these guys were able to actually finish this raid O.o
It’s scary when Micheal, the man who ate a grape from a stomach, is the voice of reason
I mean, if it was a normal video without salt, we wouldnt have this gem here with us.
This is the correct opinion
I love when Jeremy is actually pissed when he says *FUCK* you can feel the Bostonian coming out.
I may like Ryan in a lot of their other content, but after watching the Salt Raid, I wanted to punch him in the face and for him to shut up and let Alfredo explain.
idk what's worse
knowing what happened to AH/RT after this
or knowing that this raid in D2 is essentially lost media now
Downloaded it all because this is historic
What're y'all talking about? It's still available on their channels.
Alredo losing his shit is honestly the best thing EVER
8:37 Bottom right corner Jack had me dead
Ryan you're not yourself when you're hungry. Grab a snickers.
The day Ryan lost his *GODDAMN* mind
Everyone who’s ever played with friends has had a day like this
That moment when Alfredo loses it was amazing.
Jeremy's line "we all hate Ryan too" is more appropriate now
This is the let's play that Alfredo won the title of best girl.
@@TSTD_Punisher And that's where the wonderful magic of editing comes in
@Naters How is he stupid? They even suggest, in the video, that they could edit out, or at least edit down, an explanation of how the raid works, so that they could know what's happening without boring viewers.
People focus on ryan vs everyone in this video but michael and geoff were underratedly going after each other👀
I like how the only problem is that there's too much yelling to do what anyone wants to do, because as soon as something is going to start- they all start yelling about how it should be happening
i have never seen ryan so genuinely worked up over anything
it's beautiful and frightening
The further away from this we get the less uncomfortable it makes me lol. Legit like going to Christmas and having the whole family fighting.
...How about now?
Merry Christmas... i guess
I know it’s pretty real arguing this whole but from 8:35-8:50, the way Jeremy screams at Ryan, like damn.
I agree with both sides, explain it once before it starts, look at it, then explain any confusion during the fight.
That weird moment that MICHAEL is the voice of reason
When Rage Quit Michael Jones is the voice of reason........
i think i need to give my raid team some credit. we never had a raid go this badly.
Jeremy. "Four feet of stupid". Geez, Ryan
