🌸Pujya Swami Chinmayananda Ji🌸
Hailed as the second Swami Vivekananda, Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda (1916-1993) is an orator, writer and leader par excellence, a patriot and spiritual giant, one of the finest representatives of Indian spiritual heritage who spearheaded a global Hindu spiritual and cultural renaissance that popularised the religion's esoteric scriptural texts, teaching them in English all across India and abroad.
He worked tirelessly with tremendous energy for more than four decades to spread the message of Vedanta, leaving behind a great legacy for man. He has authored 95 publications, including commentaries on the major Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita. He was a visiting professor of Indian philosophy at several American and Asian universities and he conducted university lecture tours in many countries.
The sprawling worldwide, spiritual, educational, and charitable organization of Chinmaya Mission that encompasses more than 300 centres in India and internationally, carries on the bright torch lit by this great saint.

Sanskrit Words meaning from Gurudev’s talk - Day 13 - 20th May:
Verse 18:
उदाराः सर्व एवैते ज्ञानी त्वात्मैव मे मतम्।
आस्थितः स हि युक्तात्मा मामेवानुत्तमां गतिम्
udārāḥ sarva evaite jñānī tvātmaiva me matam,
āsthitaḥ sa hi yuktātmā māmevānuttamāṁ gatim
Noble indeed are all these, but the wise man, I deem, as My very Self; for, steadfast in mind he is established in Me alone as the Supreme Goal.
Sanskrit Words:
उदाराः (udārāḥ) = large hearted (noble)
सर्व एवैते (sarva evaite) = are all these people
ज्ञानी (jñānī) = Man of Wisdom
त्वात्मैव मे मतम् (tvātmaiva me matam) = I consider him as myself
स हि (sa hi ) = he who is certainly
आस्थितः (āsthitaḥ) = steadfast
युक्तात्मा (yuktātmā) = established in me
माम eव aनुत्तमां (mām evānuttamāṁ) = considers me as the highest
गतिम् (gatim) = goal
āsthitaḥ-situated; saḥ-he; hi-certainly; yukta-ātmā-those who are united; mām-in me; eva-certainly; anuttamām-the supreme; gatim-goal
Verse 19:
बहूनां जन्मनामन्ते ज्ञानवान्मां प्रपद्यते।
वासुदेवः सर्वमिति स महात्मा सुदुर्लभः
bahūnāṁ janmanāmante jñānavānmāṁ prapadyate,
vāsudevaḥ sarvamiti sa mahātmā sudurlabhaḥ
At the end of many births the wise man comes to Me, realising that all this is Vasudeva (the innermost Self); such a great soul (MAHATMA) is very hard to find.
बहूनां (bahūnāṁ) = many manay / endless number of
जन्मनाम (janmanām) = lives / births (after)
अन्ते (ante) = at the end
ज्ञानवान (jñānavān) = the wise / man of wisdom
मां (māṁ) = to me
प्रपद्यते (prapadyate) = reaches / merges / surrenders
वासुदेवः (vāsudevaḥ) = Krishna, son of vasudeva
सर्वम (sarvam) = all
इति (iti) = thus
स (sa) = he
महात्मा (mahatma) = such great soul
सुदुर्लभः (sudurlabhaḥ) = very very difficult to gain
Verse 20:
कामैस्तैस्तैर्हृतज्ञानाः प्रपद्यन्तेऽन्यदेवताः।
तं तं नियममास्थाय प्रकृत्या नियताः स्वया
kāmaistaistairhṛtajñānāḥ prapadyante’nyadevatāḥ,
taṁ taṁ niyamamāsthāya prakṛtyā niyatāḥ svayā
Those whose wisdom has been looted away by this or that desire go to other gods, following this or that rite, led by their own nature.
कामै = desires
तै: तै: = by various - this and that
र्हृत-ज्ञानाः = whose discriminative power has been looted
प्रपद्यन्ते = reaches / surrenders
ऽन्य देवताः = other deities
तं तं = this and that
