I love watching how other cultures use the same ingredients I eat in different ways. I’m from Puerto Rico and cassava is used in many different ways, but as savory dishes.
Cassava cake is a traditional Filipino moist cake made from grated cassava, coconut milk, and condensed milk with a custard layer on top. It is a very popular dish in the Philippines, where it is commonly eaten for merienda. It is also served during gatherings and special occasions. :)
I absolutely LOVE this….nothing makes me happier then ur husbands mom teaching you how to make staple meals your husband grew up on and being able to cook that for him and your kids grow up on it, next thing you know you’ll be giving these recipes to your kids wife’s.
So translation of cassava is "kamoteng kahoy" which literally translate "sweet potato wood" so it's basically wood. I've seen people making it here, they usually grate the cassava after peeling the skin, then add a bunch of things sugar and milk mostly HAHAHA. Technically it's root tho.😅
This was such a cute video ❤😂 Also, did I miss it or have you not read your original proposal speech to Roni even after we got you to 100k likes? I would hurry up or people will start to expect a fancy video with cool editing and amazing camera angles. Unless you already wanted to go that route, save yourself the trouble and get 'er done!!!
I feel like there are so much in common between Filipino and Brazilian culture. We have cassava all the time, with everything. Here in Brazil it’s called “mandioca” or “macaxeira”. We make cakes, we cook it, fry it, put it in stews…. And the language, some words seems to be so similar
OH MY GOSH I SUDDENLY CRAVE CASSAVA CAKE AT 1AM! When we go to a party and we don't have a pre-planned gift, cassava cake is a go-to gift we buy from a local store here (Pampanga) in the Philippines. Brings back so many memories. ❤ also, first like woah. 😅
Aaron's mom saving the pickles container like a tupperware is 100% legit VERY FILIPINO 🇵🇭 😂 and we're very proud of it too 😉 Nice content, more of these please ❤
I also do remember on the first video on this channel that If this channel gets to 100,000 subscribers, Aaron was going to release the original proposal notes.
