Damn, you're car is hella nice, love the sound that exhaust system and those rims. I wish I had the GXP trim. Mine is only a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix base, still has the basic steel wheels and all but I plan to upgrade those eventually. It was a rare facebook marketplace find, I got it last November with only 48,000 miles on it, has almost 54,000 miles on it now unfortunately due to doing some door dashing because of my financial situation. But I wont be doing that too much longer, dont wanna rack up a lot of miles on the car doing that.
I have the same tuner, but I installed a tune from overkill. You’re better off with HPtuners. You get credits for 4 vehicles vs 1 and the hptuners allows you to reprogram many parameters that this one doesn’t. All for the same price.
Super new to the car culture , I have an 04 Pontiac Grand Prix GT what should I do to get better performance? I've considered getting an upgraded transmission... Thanks in advance.
Consider adding the GTP supercharger and corresponding upgrades to support it like exhaust, intake, bigger injectors, upgraded spark plugs, etc. There’s a few sites that specialize in 3800 performance parts, look around on google a bit. Upgraded trans is a good idea as they should be beefed up eventually, but I would add a little power first. Hope this helps! Mod on brother!
Nice car, Chief...did a quick double-take when I saw the video title and thought for a second it was a video showing how to make a GXP run like an old Pontiac T-1000 (i.e., rebadged Chevette) from the early '80s...which I couldn't imagine being in very high demand... 🤪
Hey on your cam position sensor was replaced what did your car do cause I have an 04 as well and it trying to figure out what's wrong with it its true over but want start up and I did everything under the sun
Slight difference in throttle response with the intake, but heat soak reduces power when engine is real hot as well since there’s no insulation box to dispel heat. I like the look of the intake better than the stock air box.
Yes you can raise and lower rev limiter and where the shift points are, you can also have it so you can take the car to 9000rpm in manual mode, I wouldn’t recommend taking a ls4 over 6200 but you can if you wish.
Hi... Have you deleted the DOD yet? If so does it make a sound and power difference? I was told it's wakes up the car cause ur running in 8 cyls all the time. I'm thinking of deleting mine. Wondering if it is worth it?
depends what your looking for. You could change transmission shift patterns, change fuel/air mixture. for better mileage. or better power. possibly both. can change the ratio's at which it stays in the power band. those sorts of things. typically most factory's set these patterns conservatively as to not push cars too hard or to make for a simple super smooth shifting. but it's possible by changing the tune to grab more power. better shifts. let it stay in the high rpms longer.
@@AndrewsCarReviews if you somehow can stop the tire smoke lol. Great video. Ordering a transmission from tripple edge performance, and now I think I will get that tuner box you showed in this video. Love the GXP Best 4 door sedan of the time IMO unless you are rich of course.
Yoo!! You did all that to gain 4 horsepower 😂😂 you should have just mail-order tune or again get a Dino tune you would have got maximum power out of your PCM or ECM 15 to 20 horsepower with some upgrades 🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ especially if you're going to spend $500
If youre going to spend 500$ on tuning hardware, get HPTuners and tune your vehicle properly...

Nice car man !..you should get some more tubing and run your intake into the fenderwell and get real cold air
Nice car. I have the same. Where did I get ur cold air intake and what kind is it?
It’s a no name brand kit I found on eBay for like $50. Didn’t want to spend $300+ for a name brand one.
@@AndrewsCarReviews OH OK thx. Also is there a noticeable difference in performance from stock with it?

Do you gain horsepower?
Great video. Does it allow you to delete the rev limiter and speed limiter? 🤔
That I don’t know, although I haven’t come across that functionality thus far.

Thanks for the info. Also does the car have a speed limiter? If so what it the top speed and can it be deleted?
So the car maxes without a tune 130mph I’ve taken a turbo gxp on a diablo tune to 165 before tires were giving up

dude the more i see your vids the more im being swayed away from a charger an G8Gt
You’d be happier with a Chevy SS over a G8
I wonder how many transmissions his tune has destroyed so far
My 06 gxp grand prix oil burning is a pain in ass I had the range afm diasbler but it was garbage
I am using one and it still seems to work, no oil consumption
Did u do a DOD delete
Clean GXP
What kinda tips are those?
so this should work on a 2006 impala ss ?
you think it's worth the risk to invest in one cuz I see a gem
Use your best judgement. It is expensive to maintain but a very fun car to own.
nice job
does your cooling fan come on with this tune ?
See, I dont have any power to my duel fans also?
What's the benefits of tuning your vehicle?

How much more power can you make?
Do you know any good ways to tune a 1998 grand prix gtp
Idk if you still respond to these but. I plan on getting one of these but wanna turn off dod or the afm. Does this thing do that?
Yeah the tuner does have the capability to turn of DOD which is nice 👍
@@AndrewsCarReviews does it do only dod or will it set to 91 octane as well
Both
@@AndrewsCarReviews nice. The one I'm getting is only 4k with a rebuilt trans. The car itself is at 125k miles . Just gotta get the work in for it.
@@AndrewsCarReviews I'm maybe getting that car this weekend!!
Does the the tuner already have tunes loaded on there for your car because I need one for my 07 gxp
Yeah it came from the manufacturer with GXP tunes on there!
@@AndrewsCarReviews okay thank you looking forward to getting this for my gxp
Can you also select different shift firmness with this tuner?
Yeah! I have selected a firmer shift with the transmission tuning because it will save a little wear and tear on the trans
I like this car I just feel like itd be a nightmare to work on.
What kind of mpg highway do you get with dod turned off?
20-21 hwy mpg with my 91 tune no dod
Will it work on my 2005 Grand am gt?
Unfortunately not, there's not a tune for that engine on the device.
Damn?..well I'm thinking about putting a LS engine on my grand am GT...
@@calypsocyclops677 polish a turd
Would this work for a 04 gtp comp g
Not sure if there’s a tune for the v6, I can’t recall seeing one when I was scrolling through the menu on the device.
Heyy i got the same car
What year is your grand prix gxp ?
Mines a 2006, but this should work for any 2005-2008 GXP with the 5.3 liter v8
The 2005-2006 ls4's have the E40 ECM's n the 2007+ ls4's have the newer E67 ECM's I don't know if that would make any difference for the tuner
kurupt 2400 I am fairly certain it doesn't make a difference, thanks for that bit of info though, I was unaware!
No problem... You should make a 0-60 run before n after tune id love to see the difference
That’s a good idea, I never thought to do that!
So how much hp did you gain for 500 dollars?
It’s hard to say, I never had the car dyno tuned so there’s no way to know for sure

Any way to make adjustments for E-85?
Gxp supposed to only run premium😑🤦♂️
