Sara, I am a master gardener, yes there is really such a thing and title, I saw your video where you were planting vegetables I love seeing young people planting and living off the land. This spring put a handful of lime in each hole and mix it well with the soil. it will keep the vegetables much more healthy. In the South East we have tons on nasty diseases that get on our vegetables and the line wards them off.
I meant to comment on this a few weeks ago, but got distracted mid video and then forgot to come back.😊 This is great for people to see. I’m on Vancouver Island off the west coast of British Columbia, Canada and we get severe weather changes within hours this time of year. I have my Sprinter, “Junior” that I use mostly for my onsite work when I need to be in remote areas, (I do custom off grid log homes)and the way you’re dealing with this is refreshing. Very hands on. @4:30 It's best to crack an egg over a small separate container in case the egg is spoiled or shell debris, that way you don't spoil the main ingredients. I like winter but it takes special clothes and footwear to be comfortable. Thrift shops are wonderful places for this. Nice video, best of luck.

Hi there. Just a thought- What about getting an electric blanket. I've heard usb ones are available. You could turn on your heater 15-30 minutes before bed to warm up the van and then turn it off and get under the electric blanket for the night. You could also get a zero degree sleeping bag. One of those combined with a warm pj set should do the trick.
Look at installing a mini wood stove like a Cubic CB-1000 costs like 350-400 dollars but will keep everything toasty, you do feed it wood but imo that beats buying and burning fuel and it's more fun and with a vehicle so small you probably wouldn't even need much wood to keep it warm, maybe like a third or quarter of what it would normally take. Also get wool socks, you can take them off/on when wet because they wick moisture so well that it doesn't stick and keeps your feet warm, a cotton base layer is good for most cold/freezing weather i'd only use wool base layer for below freezing and being outside for a long time. I worked in Prudhoe Bay as a truck driver so I know a lot about staying warm in the arctic hahah Diesel heaters are nice but the con is having to refuel and the noise, hope it works a long time for you with no electrical or mechanical failures, that's the only thing i'd be worried about, and keeping enough fuel in cans for it if I get snowed in.
I would add some clearstory windows in that hightop with a little ledge that borders it. I have cats, so it's important to give them a high ledge to perch in front of the windows so they don't feel claustrophobic. I prefer the snow to the desert heat 🥵. There are things you can do to stay cosy and warm, but when it's 🔥 hot you swelter without AC. I never understood why someone dresses in halter tops and shorts in the winter, then cranks up the heat till it's swelteting. In the winter, dressing cozy is part of the fun. Leggings and a warm sweater or a comfy sweatshirt. Then the heater can be turned on to break the chill and keep things comfy for everyone (including any fur babies).
Eerie vibes.. the music, the soft almost whispering voiceover, it reminds me of a movie right before something tragic happens. Would be cool to see a less edited and dramatic and more raw experience down to earth video

I recommend you get a Tadeto RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Alarm, 12V DC CO/LPG - With that stove and diesel heater it will pickup any levels of carbon monoxide in your little home and gives you a numerical readout and audible alarm at dangerous levels Cheers

Amazon has real good sleeping bags for a good price...i have 1 now for my boat it is great.....be safe and enjoy....Ollies in CT has a neck warmer toy can charge via a usb and you could put in your bag.....

I found that "install" of the diesel heater a bit deceiving - never saw the hole saw drilling down through the undercarriage of the van - only her getting under the van for a moment. C'mon...that part putting the hoses 'n stuff on is the EASY part! Show drilling the hole, threading the hoses down under the van - that's the "down and dirty" part! I know - I've done it!!!
Thanks for keeping us updated and for sharing with us that your fur-babies and you are fine with a heater 🤎🍃🍃 I have experienced a winter with my animals, in a Grand Jeep Cherokee, in Christmas time in cold. Not a tough cold but cold. Lesson learned. We always had heater, though, but I know what is that. What kept me alive and looking to transcend that phase were my fur-babies. Have their well-being in mind always. In these challenges our minds get tired. Please, keep your fur-babies within your truck. Keep them inside. Cats sometimes run sway if they fell threatened specifically in a foreign environment ❗️❗️ Too cold for the dog and cats to be outside. Keep that door closed, please. They can get pulmonary diseases ❗️❗️ Rest a lot, keep on going keeping them and you safe 🙏🏼🙏🏼🤎🍂🍂 Many good blessings to your fur-babies & to you 💝

Can't imagine how you let your cats out without a harness and leash,or having a gps collar,if they get spooked by a noise they will run away and finding them will be hard.
I will when we are in unfamiliar places, but this land is basically their home. I have an unbreakable bond with these fur babies and I’m happy we get to explore the natural world with fresh air. I’ve always heard that cats in apartments have high toxicity levels from not getting fresh oxygen and that’s why it’s so important to bring them outside. But when you are in an unfamiliar area definitely monitor them and keep them on a leash.

I personally don’t mind they’re very clean :-) I’ve lived with cats my whole life, and I’ve never run into any issues, but I do wipe their paws often when they come back inside. I even brush their teeth!

Thanks for keeping us updated and for sharing with us that your fur-babies and you are fine with a heater 🤎🍃🍃 I have experienced a winter with my animals, in a Grand Jeep Cherokee, in Christmas time in cold. Not a tough cold but cold. Lesson learned. We always had heater, though, but I know what is that. What kept me alive and looking to transcend that phase were my fur-babies. Have their well-being in mind always. In these challenges our minds get tired. Please, keep your fur-babies within your truck. Keep them inside. Cats sometimes run sway if they fell threatened specifically in a foreign environment ❗️❗️ Too cold for the dog and cats to be outside. Keep that door closed, please. They can get pulmonary diseases ❗️❗️
Rest a lot, keep on going keeping them and you safe 🙏🏼🙏🏼🤎🍂🍂 Many good blessings to your fur-babies & to you 💝

Nice photographing 😊.But when you do not have a lot of fat on your body you will get cold fast. That is why bears get fat before the winter 😅 They can not put on clothes 😊. Dress warm.

Can't imagine how you let your cats out without a harness and leash,or having a gps collar,if they get spooked by a noise they will run away and finding them will be hard.
I will when we are in unfamiliar places, but this land is basically their home. I have an unbreakable bond with these fur babies and I’m happy we get to explore the natural world with fresh air. I’ve always heard that cats in apartments have high toxicity levels from not getting fresh oxygen and that’s why it’s so important to bring them outside. But when you are in an unfamiliar area definitely monitor them and keep them on a leash.

Hey Sarah my first time watching your video it look like you was making some type of pastries nothing wrong with that but you got your cats kind of like walking by your food that you got to eat I guess if you're the only one eating it I guess it's okay but very unsanitary
I personally don’t mind they’re very clean :-) I’ve lived with cats my whole life, and I’ve never run into any issues, but I do wipe their paws often when they come back inside. I even brush their teeth!
