Perfect example of how good gnr where in those day's. The balance between Izzy and Slash, with so much going on in the rhythm guitar position. Btw spectacularly well played here. Loving all of this!
You guys legit should collab. Would be the closest thing to that Slash and Izzy magic anyone has heard for over 30 years. Wicked cover dude, all those subtle chromatic touches and scratchy bends were perfect. They're difficult to pick out on a casual listen but they underpin the sleazy groove of the song so much.
I’ve probably heard this song 200 times since ‘88 and never realized how progressive the arrangement is. Wild. So many sections and the interplay between Slash and Izzy is incredible. Izzy took so many leads in this one. They were such a good duo. Slash never had that sort of partnership again. Fuck Axl. If he wasn’t so damn greedy, Izzy would have been involved in the so called “reunion”. That would have been something.
That was awesome, Izzy was and still is an underrated rhythm guitarist, Slash got all the accolades for Guns N roses, But with out Izzy it wouldn't have been so successful in my opinion... Again. Well Done mate.
Great video, man. The magic of Appetite For Destruction was the interplay between Izzy and Slash. Shame that they lost that on UYI, where Slash totally overpowers Izzy.
To be fair Izzy had one foot out the door by then , his parts are largely uninspired and basic apart from a couple of songs like Perfect Crime, YCBM, Dust N Bones and Double Talking Jive where he shines through.
Izzy's part is a whole different song it's own. He was the soul of GnR. I remember first listening to the song and then later actually learning to play it and then getting disappointed because I thought I opened an incomplete tab cuz all of them were of Slash's part and they had none of these little fillers that really pop out than Slash in the final audio. Slash's part on the other hand have so many little filler solos that he makes them sound so chaotic and fun.
Izzy's trick was using quite low gain (like Angus and Malcolm Young) so the guitarbisnt wallowing in drive, and a very loose right hand. Great rhythm player, I've been playing rhythm guitar in a Gn'R band for years, people always ask if I'd prefer to play Slash's parts, and the answer is...not really, no.
What i like about this cover is that it has a bit more edge to it, if you listen to the song without Slash's guitar, Izzy's guitar just sounds so...devoid of anything in my opinion. Sure, his playing is fantastic, but his tone and all is very flat and blank to me. Here it sounds like you have a bit of a harder rocking tone and it actually really adds to the song! I love it!
Dude, you did an amazing job on this one, you captured Izzy’s style and touch. Congrats 👍🙏 I did some cover too, I know how it’s hard to nail the original. Bravo !

Wow! I always respected the way GnRs two guitars worked together but I never quite realised just how dense the rhythm part was. Great job.👏
Izzy's parts in this song are my favourite parts. He plays most of the cool riffs on 'Appetite for Destruction'. Slash fills out with solos.
This Izzy part is a serious powerhouse.
So airy, yet so tight, effortless rock n’ roll magic. Really enjoyed this one, you’ve delivered it incredibly!
Thank you dude!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

That had to be the 3 of them not just Axl
@@Joe.s11 I always read it was Axl that dictated the terms of the reunion. The percentages, etc. which makes sense. Guns was his band at the time.
I hope Izzy returns to GNR :C

Only underrated in the mainstream.
Guitarists/musicians know.
Right. Izzy is what caused it to work because Izzy wrote the songs
Thanks, I've always loved Izzy's guitar, it's great to know there are a lot of people who love it too

This is dope man! Love GNR. This is great showing Izzy love. Dude was underrated as a guitarist. His parts were really essential to the thick tone.
Mate, that's a great looking guitar and sound.. clear and heavy as fark, plus you can see clearly what you're playing.
Had no idea Izzy played all of that. He’s bad ass
I was just watching Duffs tutorial video, I had this recommended, lovely stuff!
