- HUNTING IN A CAMPING TRIP IS A COMMON WAY OF GETTING FOOD FOR CAMP.SMALL GAME IS OFTEN THE FOCUS OF THE HUNT.MY BLACKBIRD HAVERSACK WAS DESIGNED WITH THIS IDEA. I OFTEN CARRY A 20 GA SHOT GUN FOR HUNTING AND SHORTLANE ARMS MAKES CHAMBER INSERTS TO CHANGE THE GUN FROM 20GA TO A 9MM OR 38SPEC OR SEVERAL OTHER CHAMBERINGS. IN THIS VIDEO I TALK OF HOW THE CHAMBER INSERTS MAY BE USED IN HUNTING OF GAME FOR THE POT ON CAMPOUTS. ALSO I TALK ON HOW THE HAVERSACK CAN BE USED IN A HUNTING MOD TO MAKE YOU TIME AFIELD MORE ENJOYABLE

Nice shotgun, wish those " Topper" H&R shotguns were still made ......I can remember buying them new as low as $69 as a kid.
me too..they were usually the first gun under the christmas tree for many
@@blackoracle69 Yes sir, was for my brother and I as well, we still have them though we passed them down to our children.
Cool video. We don’t have any adapters but we have talked about getting some to make our shotguns more versatile. We have many specific rifles that we hunt with so we don’t necessarily need an adapter but it would be fun to have. This was a great video! Love listening to you talk!!! Just subscribed to your channel. Sending love to you from my channel called Collins Country. I look forward to following you! :)
Can't wait to finally get my Blackbird haversack so I can do the same thing. Thank you for the true wisdom of your design.
Have a great weekend.
Awesome! Thank you!
I just got my 1858 remington 6shooter 5.5" barel in yesterday. yeaaa. I was so surprised when I found one to buy since everything is sold out lately. :) I love b.p. :)
That is awesome!
Great ideas!
Great video
cool stuff been cleaning guns all morning got the taurus g3 last weekend upgraded it and got alot of nice parts for ar15 a2 carbine
Good idea. Thanks.
You're welcome!
Having options is great. I would be glad to have any of the ones you described here. Currently swapping out a topper for a bolt axis here, for fall turkey hunting. Looks like a 3/4 moa barrel so far. With that all going well, I have been reviewing some of the spring hammock choices.
sounds good
Like your shotgun!
Great idea , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Thank you! You too!
Thanks Blackie
I have that shotgun. Absolute favorite firearm in my collection.
its the best woodsgun for me..easy to carry and gets the job done with little fuss
@@blackoracle69 Squirrel to moose, that gun will do it!
They also make 209 shotgun primer insert to turn shotgun into BP muzzle loader.
i saw that.i got several yrs shooting a .62 cal (20ga) tulle de chase (french trade gun for 1750's era)
@@blackoracle69 wow I shoot a .75 cal Brown Bess myself.
Each adapter is at least the size of a shotshell or 3. I sometimes keep a few shells in the stock of my H&R with an easy to loosen screw at the bottom of my buttplate for easy access. It just pivots on the top screw when loosened. Yours should too. That would be a good spot for an adapter as well. But again I don't like the adapters so I'll keep with the spare ammo.
Thx for the vid
my pleasure
This is what I had in mind
Went by my favorite pawn shop the other week and a double barrel 20 ga. shotgun caught my eye.. it was good and solid the barrels were clean no pitting but he was asking just a little more than I could pay, but it got me to thinking what if I were to buy a double and slide a shortlaine arms addapter in one barrel and leave the other open... I think I'll go back next week and see if that shotgun is still there
right i had the same idea it would have lots of uses
@@blackoracle69 now the question is side by side? or Over and under
Might have a sack for the shotgun 12 gauges and old map case I believe from the Vietnam era paid 5 or 10 dollars for it at a flea market it's got the pen slots in the front of the inside of the flap in which I cut in between them instead of having three 10 slots they fitted 12 gauge shell and it holds six 12 gauge shells on the outside and it has a long one but seven eight inches long that I can put my compass/match case in there and a bug repellent stick but the match case has fish hooks and fishing weights in it and so does the butt of my shotgun with two extra shells and a hook and weight set with some line that I carry inside the gun works out well for me I can also instead of using the 12 gauge shells in it I can put my inline muzzleloader speed loaders in it accomplish the same thing because I don't have a special bag for that I've got a special bag for my flintlock 12 gauge and one that's a convertible for the shotgun and in line but it was an inexpensive way of carrying a small haversack with me also carry a plastic bag to put small game in
Blackie, what do I need to do to order one of your haversacks?? I would really like to purchase one. Thank you, and I really enjoy your videos
go to downndirtywoodscraft@gmail.com and i will add you to the next run
Blackie? I’m interested in ordering a Blackbird Haversack. Tell me what to do to get on the list, or to pay. -Stephen, Ohio

Wouldn't a 30 round 9mm MOLLE pouch be a better choice?
Do they make a 357 mag adapter if so it can double as 38 cal
i dont think gunadapters.com has..but it would be a cool idea
Will a 12 gauge adapter fit in the strap ?
yep
i tried a 12ga to 45 long colt and it fit in mine
Them adapters are expensive at first look but if you consider what all you can do there dirt cheap. Take one gun and make it do near bout anything
yep and in bad times it will allow me to use ammo i dont have a gun for..
@@blackoracle69 that's what in thinking too. I ordered one in 410/45colt and I saw some more that will definitely be good to have on hand. My hats off to them guys at shortlane
Do you still have haversacks being made?
yes i do ..if you will email me at
downndirtywoodscraft@gmail.com i will put you on the next run list
.357 ? 👍
Thinking the same thing.
Opinion time from someone with several adapters bought when Dave Canterbury was hyping them up... what's the point? You want deer, buckshot or slugs. You want possum or coon, number 4 shot. Squirrel, six shot. In my area the only adapters they make that are legal for deer is 45 colt or 44 spl which both usually cost the same as a slug, shot per shot with a fraction of the power. In my experience none of the adapters are anywhere near as accurate as a handgun. So if your concern is not hamburgering a squirrel at close range with a shotgun, just use a 22 pistol. Heritage, Ruger whatever they're like $200 and near infinitely better than a chamber adapter.
They often offer a "what if?" option to whatever you may have, to use something else you may have as a sidearm. It's what some in my trusted circle might call 2nd cool. Many of us are still lucky enough to have what we need, when we need it.
And a good old 30-30 in the safe is great insurance.
@@waynehendrix4806 I like the idea that you could have one gun to shoot many calibers, especially with ammo shortages happening. I'm just saying if you've got shotgun ammo, use it.
for me a box of 9mm is 50 rds for less weight than 25 rds of 20ga..and i do hear you i use and have used the 20 for everything..the adapters also let me use other ammo that will do the job and save the 20..and with a few adapters i can shoot 45 acp /45 colt/410/38spec/9mm/22lr. i have a large supply of all the listed ammo..so it allows me to match the sidearm i carrying at the time
@@blackoracle69 around here a box of target 9mm is going for almost $60 while 45acp is $49 somehow. It's crazy. Can't hardly even reload cuz you can't find primers. The adapters let u shoot what you have which is nice. I just wish mine were more accurate.
@@blackoracle69 that's what I'm talking about!
LOL! Everything on the shortlane arms website has been sold out for the past year and a half...so no help there!
wow did not know that thanks for the info
