Now I need to see the finished product. Also, do you make custom pickups for Les Pauls. That pickup is beautiful.

Looks nice. I wonder, though, why you wouldn't take a syringe and fill those inlays and slots carefully. It would reduce the amount of work as well as the quantity of epoxy you're using dramatically. I also wonder why you wouldn't use your CNC to level the board afterwards but choose the rather more destructive method of power sanding. Don't get me wrong, I know you know how to do stuff but I am just curious.

In this video, I explain my method for joining parts at intersections. I prefer to join them and then mill or sand through the joint to achieve a precise and clean appearance. Since I don't do production work, the amount of resin used is not a concern. When I create CA Mother of Pearl inlays, I often use a CNC mill. However, the setup time and the risk of getting resin on the spoil board (which would require cleaning) make it inconvenient. Additionally, the resin requires 48 hours to cure. Using a thickness sander works well as long as I don't use a piece of sacrificial stock that is too slick for the belt to engage with.
