Making an Acoustic Guitar - Super Fast
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 січ 2018
- Last summer I made an acoustic guitar, my first one. I made the guitar from a bunch of free and scrap wood I already had so I did not have to spend a lot of money on something I would mess up for sure. I made a long, not sped up video of the whole process at the time. Now I condensed my entire guitar making video from a whopping 45 minutes to a short and sweet 6 minutes of acoustic guitar making goodness.
If you liked this, please check out the long version for the sound of the guitar. Leave a comment, like and subscribe.

I’m not a luthier. But I could complete my first ever violin 🎻 project. Without people like you on UA-cam it wouldn’t be possible. Now I’m thinking about making a guitar 🎸. Good tutorial. ❤️💙
I could too! Who needs em! Ya know.
I'm just pissed. I watched the whole video without hearing how the guitar actually sounds in the end.

I made a bird house once...
I don't think I ever made one! :D Maybe I should.. Thanks for watching!
That guitar might make a good wood duck house if mounted to a tree.
IT WAS AWFUL

My husband uses these plans from Woodprix and he is very happy with them. However. I love yours!
I knew guitar making was hard but after watching it just made me respect the work luthiers do so much more

I feel exhausted watching! I'll definitely look in on the 'real' version. There's clearly a lot to learn in here for us aspiring home luthiers - thanks so much for sharing!
Hahaha yup it's nauseating huh? ;) Thanks for watching!
Robin Coomans not sure that's the word I'd have used but, now you come to mention it... Thanks again mate. I'm saving the full length version for the weekend when I can settle to watching properly.

Great build by the way.
Hahaha glad tou liked it!
You can make it even faster with the youtube speed function, which is hilarious when you combine it with yakity sax.
I went ahead and did it: instagram.com/p/BfOiDecg8xP/

Fantastic handmade guitar what a hobby !
Holy shit, dude, you are AMAZING!!!
At first I thought, making a guitar is a long and tedious process, how could it be super fast, but you totally rocked it man.
A guitar in roughly 6 minutes?? Dude, are you a demigod or something? I have NEVER even once in my life seen somebody moving their hands so lightning fast and be so accurate at the same time, I am just baffled. Hats off to you!
It was a super long and tedious project :) take a look at the long video for a good taste! Thank you for watching!!
I made a guitar at school and this is really cool to see the different process that was done and to see how good the guitar came out.
Always wanted to see someone making acoustic guitar. But never thought I had the time. Thank you for making my dreams come true.
I did it myself. I used Woodglut woodworking plans for this.
Superb! I love it so much ! Woodglut plans are awesome!
@@romeliapolly2519 Yes. I have to agree with that Romelia :)
@@thomasralfenson2684 Hmmm... I finally followed yours advice and took Woodglut. It's great for beginners and has some advanced stuff too.
I thought it was gonna be about lowering the strings, polishing frets etc... in order to make an acoustic guitar super fast.
Haha no, I'm sorry.. I did those things, but most of it was later of camera. Thanks for watching though!!
No prob, it was my sincere pleasure :)
Exactly....I was thinking same too
ME TOO!
This is the perfect video for my attention span.
This video is amazing. It is so dense with detail. The six minute overview is so valuable, and I think you could pause it at each point and figure out how to make the process work. Nice work!
I would have really appreciated it if you slowed the video down at the end so we could hear the sound of it
Take a look at the long video! Thanks for watching!
I’m surprised at how simple this looks. Don’t get me wrong, making a good sounding instrument is really hard but the process of making a guitar (not taking quality into consideration) seems quite simple. No special tools needed, just time and some elbow grease. I might give it a shot sometime. Seems like a fun holiday project.
There are some specialized tools that are highly beneficial if not outright neccessary, really depends if you intend to build more than one or two. It also depends whether you intend to use prefabricated parts which can eliminate the need for otherwise indespensible tools.
@@deepfreeze202 not that specialized. I have all of them or have the tools to make them. Toolmaking is honestly one of my favorite things to do. Then again, a lot has changed since I wrote that four years ago and I'm now a piano technician so while not the same as guitar building, the skillset necessary is very similar.
Been nice to actually hear what the guitar really sounded like
Huge respect to the guy who makes guitar 👍👍👍
I've just got to know where you buy those speedy tools from, and do you need a racing licence to own them? Nice guitar by the way!
Wait, you never heard of superfast-tools .com??? And yes you need a licence but sshhh I don't have one.. keep that quiet! ;) Thanks for watching man!
Making a guitar looks like a lot of hardwork and it surely took days to make one. It was really satisfying watching this video! Thank you for this.
I agry
I have always wanted to make a guitar, but I could never think of what to use for the fret bars. Watching this was so cool, and right now I just want to make something.
Make one! But buy one the fret wire!! It's cheap enough.
This is so fucking beautiful. The whole process is just poetry in motion .
Il just buy one
By the time I buy enough materials for this I could’ve bought a regular acoustic
Or am I 0 he said it was free
Ill never take a guitar for granted
A guitarist myself ..amazed to see so much of manual work done there
Impressive, but does it djent?
Edit: Yo thanks for the heart bro!
2:05 me when i see T - Series sub count
Thanks, I now have the skillset needed to build my own guitar perfectly with 100% of the knowledge required with all of the math and geometry involved :D
Yes. Absolutely awesome. 1st time I see the whole process from raw materials to finish, great job!!!
You can easily make a guitar super fast just by simply taking it on a plane.
Wow man you can make a guitar in 6 mins
I ve never seen so amazing work before
Its so relaxing to watch even I if I didn't hear how the guitar sounds😁
I'm 10 seconds into the video and I see him cutting strips of wood. Subscribed.
but i wished we could have heard the guitar.
Haha thanks! I know.. I wanted to make this video as short as possible, sort of a teaser for the real time video. You can hear it in that video if you are interested. Thanks for watching!
damn... wanted to hear it.. :(
I love this song
I still cant believe how this guy made a guitar in 6 minutes, its like he sped the video up
A strong cup of coffee helps
Made by Robins Coomans.
Awesome, I think you put so effort on making this guitar.
By the way can you give it to me 😂!
100% handmade
He did not make the string!
It would be the greatest satisfaction for a guitarist to build his or her own guitar.
Kudos.
Must say I'd rock the shit out of a handmade guitar
0.25х For humans
Ok, but...the sound?
I got a guitar. Removed the paint with the sand paper. Can anyone suggest me if I can apply direct polish to the guitar now?
Thank you, I just learned how to build a guitar from your tutorial. I'm a fast learner.
How much did this cost lol
Not a lot I spend maybe €100 in total on tuners, fret wire, truss rod, glues and lacquer. Maybe even less ;)
Robin Coomans amazing. You did a good job. Hopefully there are more like this i will stay tuned
I hope so! Sadly I don't have a lot of time lately.
Robin Coomans that sucks you have skill. Maybe someday

Robin Coomans lol great video man keep it up

Wow I'm definitely making my own guitar. Thanks man
all that work, and that's what the guitar sounded like in the end? damn!
New speedrun WR confirmed
45 MINUTES!! Wow!
Hello sir I have Waterlox woodsealer and I have this rouge 090 guitar and do you think if add on the wood would sound better
Here I am thinking I can easily make a diy guitar during quarantine, silly me
Hey man it would be cool if you made a list of things you bought to make the guitar
Shows that hard work pays off
i'm a luthier myself, and this was tense as balls. due to the unusual order, i thought he forgot the truss rod and i was like "Oh god, he's making this insane guitar with no truss rod, its gonna fuck up. please remember the truss remember the trus for the love of christ! TRUSS DAMNIT YEEEES its not fucked!!
What kind of wood and how much was used, looks like pine or maybe curly maple, could be soft maple . If you or anyone knows please let me know
WELL done you hard paid off at the end,im really impressed
Muito bom meu irmão eu não só luthier profiscional mas tô enventando. qual é esse verniz que você aplicou
Tnx to those who made this instrument u made our life sings❤
And that is how they make martin guitars. Well done!
Sped up drilling noises is literally nightmare fuel...
If you didnt notice the video keeps goind faster
Dude he has some fast hands
I find this absolutely amazing.
Good work ! The fast video making feel like seeing a running cartoon show !
To see how the perform of work clearly is what we need !
Thanks! At first I wanted to put some cartoonist music over this one to make it completely over the top.. if you're interested I've got a long, real time version of this as well. Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for making a video for all of us with ADD… I finally got to see the whole process! (ADD stands for Attention Deficit... I should look up dinosaur videos… Or take a woodworking class….wonder where my phone is.....)
Haha my pleasure! I know what ADD is too well ;)
WOW, for the tools you have you are very good!
Thanks for this video!
Hi i really enjoy this video . what spray paint you use ?
Ah Japanese pull saw. I'm glad I'm not the only one to have discovered them!
I've officially seen the inside of an acoustic guitar. Now I can die in peace
great video. I actually watched it at 2x speed (which is standard to me, I always watch videos at 2x speed).. at some point I found it too fast and as I changed it to 1x I was happy to see that you would still working fast lol.
very nice shots/takes choice, you managed to display the whole process without being boring. new sub here.
EDIT: Ah, and if you're inspired by Diresta, you should put your name on a lot more tools and stuff ;)
Haha I know this video is brutally fast, it's just the 45 minute video cramed into a 6 minute video! Can't watch it more than a few seconds myself to be honest. And of course, who isn't inspired by Diresta ?! ;) Thanks for watching!
The playing at the end is my favorite part, sounds like galaga or millipede.
This actually blew my mind🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Woahhh, this is amazing!
Wish I could play one of the guitars you make in the future!
Very cool video-- nice job! I've built a nice acoustic and this brought back memories...
Do you have the plans, measurements, materials, etc? I read this was made out of wood you already had, but, do you barely know which tree was it from? Where can I see the long version?
I love that sound..
it is a real hardwork and another one is taping the work
You made this look so easy.
I couldn't wait to hear this guitar, watched all the way to the end and then...😭
In the long video you can hear the normal sound
Greatest edit I ever done did see. Thanks for sharing, and for leaving in the ambulance
