A Marshall + Les Paul demo that actually includes clean and mildly driven tones, and not a clichéd old AC/DC, Sabbath, etc., cover to be heard? Okay, I'll subscribe... :)
Very good demo, and why did I like it?? Because everyone else plugs only into the bright channel and it sounds like crap, bright, harsh and sterile. Using both channels really brought this amp to life with good tone.
02:14 is where it's at man. Great vintage sound, which to this day is still the benchmark of blues rock and keeps on rocking on. Guess which song it is? Great job man.
That's as good as Classic Rock and Hair Metal Tones can get..Great to do some Van Halen Playing too, and I know Kiss Ace Frehley Tones would send great on there for their 70's sound. Ace loved those Plexi Amps! Great Playing Too From You. You definitely put your hours in, in the woodshed! 😎😎
Attenuators have come a long way since the early Scholz Power Soaks which soaked my tone so severely as to make it unusable. I had a HIWATT CUSTOM 50 at that time which had a master volume on it that sounded way better than the Scholz unit.
Mr. Marshall surly did get it right that's for sure...you have had alot of other cats come down the pike thru the years they have done some great great work as far as amp building goes...but for me it has always been the good marshall stuff that I gravitated too...I owned alot of great amps thru out the years...but my old 100 watt Plexi I got when I was 18 years old is still the best I have ever heard... period....🎸🎸🎸
Dude, I think I’m the only other human with an TubeJuice Attenuator .. They work but thinking a high end OX Box or other reactive load is the way to go.
certainly if you want to make full use of that amp at any hour ;) I have come to think that attenuators are a nice gadget in a studio or live situations but it really negates the use of a real cab, you will never be able to make use of the cab's full tonal capacity. There's has to be a certain load on it for it to sound good, and even on a single 25w speaker that requires a certain volume.
Great tone. Looks like you keep turning up the Volume I ("high treble") knob to demonstrate from 1 to 10. At what level is the Volume II ("normal") knob throughout this demo?
Great classic rock licks, especially at 5:27 The ubiquitous riff that not too many people can 'tastefully' pull off. I'm on the fence of adding a Marshall JTM45 or 1987x Plexi 50. Good job!
Hi great video and sound! You own so many marshall heads and maybe you have try many others. Can you please tell some differences between x example this plexi , a jcm 800 reissue and a jvm or a vintage modern ? Ty
To querendo arrumar um tb.
Would you rather this or the 59slp ? The only thing that scares me about the 59 is that it's 100 watts ... Is there a noticeable difference in volume? Which sounds better for a page like tone ?
+Dawson Hooker Actually there isn't much difference in volume between 50 and 100 watts, it's roughly 3 decibels, and you wouldn't say a 100 watts amp is twice the volume of a 50 watts, they're not the same but definitely one isn't twice as powerful, you won't be able to play a 50 watts valve amp without a master volume or an attenuator if you use it for example in an apartment or in similar places, so don't get the 1987 instead of the 1959 just for volume, think about the tone you want to reach. I think the 1987 is a little more aggressive (kind of in between a 1959 and a jcm800) but I'm not too sure, try to find out something more about it. If you want a page sound I would suggest the 1959 but they would both give you great results, try to look at orange amps as well, he's been using them a lot too...
+Todd apple actually, a 3db increase in volume makes for exactly twice the acoustic energy, though we may not perceive it as twice the volume. anyway, if you like the tonality of the Super amps better than the 50 watters I suggest installing a PPIMV and/or running a Superlead with only two output tubes (with the impedance set a notch higher) - it won't make your Superlead or Superbness a bedroom amp but it would bring it down to 1987 sound levels - which is still crazy, seismic, paint peeling, police calling, face melting volume levels.
Wow! Did you already use your attenuator to crank the Master and let final volume at bedroom levels? Do you think it may damage the amp/tubes? I tried that and my tubes almost blew....
Awesome sound, man!! How do you describe this amp in comparison to 1959? Do you think it is the same, just with volume differences, or a different amp?
Been watching demos of this amp for the past two days. Saw some really good ones, but this one kicked all there asses. If I pull the trigger on this amp, this will be the video that convinced me.
I just got one today and it is unrealistically loud. It’s acting like 100W. Anyone else have a ridiculously loud problem? I can’t even be in the same room with it comfortably
If you haven’t looked specifically at a Fryette Power Station, I recommend it. Most attenuation solutions color tone to some degree, almost all for the worst. This one does the absolute least, and gives you a lot more control than the rest in order to assist in preserving the full flavor of the unattenuated experience. Ain’t cheap, but man... they’re pretty great.
Lovely tone, top notch, but I can feel the frustration of volume problems, that's why they brought out master volume control.... lovely amp nice and simple but i think you'll be dependent on pedals for versatility
Which amp is this? The heading says Marshall 1987x 50 watt demo, and in the description it says demo of Marshall super lead. Which is it? The super leads are 100 watts, not 50.
Get it on Amazon: amzn.to/2RalkWa
Subbed
Pure tonal goodness!! Excellent playing and feel too!
A Marshall + Les Paul demo that actually includes clean and mildly driven tones, and not a clichéd old AC/DC, Sabbath, etc., cover to be heard? Okay, I'll subscribe... :)
Great playing man! I'm 35 years in and it's hearing guys like this that keep me practicing! Good stuff
The best demo I've heard of this amp.
You have to recut that and at the end stand up and shout "Thank You Good Night!! Great playing loved it
Beautiful, I will have this amp, when, hopefully soon.
Not for the faint of heart.
4:58 and onwards is what I'm talking about!
Im convinced! great Demo brother!
oh man, what an awesome tone! How did you mic it?
Very good demo, and why did I like it?? Because everyone else plugs only into the bright channel and it sounds like crap, bright, harsh and sterile. Using both channels really brought this amp to life with good tone.
Love your 1959SLPHW, 1987X, and JTM45 reissues. Fine amps and guitars my good man!
Watched your 1959 demo, and holy fuck, you letting rip @ about 5:19 surprised the shit outta me! Mad skills; mad respect.
Love those cleans from a Plexi
02:14 is where it's at man. Great vintage sound, which to this day is still the benchmark of blues rock and keeps on rocking on. Guess which song it is? Great job man.
GraffitiPhysical Custard Pie !
I have heard a lot of amp demos, but none of them come close to this vid. 0.0
Best amp demo player on you tube eva!
Awesome demo! Great sound!
Back this is good stuff right here
Perfect Marshall tones! well done, I want!!
Attenuators have come a long way since the early Scholz Power Soaks which soaked my tone so severely as to make it unusable. I had a HIWATT CUSTOM 50 at that time which had a master volume on it that sounded way better than the Scholz unit.

Guess I’ve watched it at least a million times….soooo goooood….soooo professional…..👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great demo ! Thanks for sharing
Does that Y cable work better than jumping the channels normally? And 2x12” cab or 4x12” cab?
Just subscribed, great channel and excellent demos!
Sounds kick ass man, sweet playing!
Guess I’ve listened to it approximately 1M times and just get enough of it....BEST EVER!!!!👌👌👌👌👌
beautiful playing man, I could listen to you all day long!
Nice review and nice playing bud
Hello thank for the video. I just purchased one. What are the settings you have for the clean tone? Thanks
man you get that amp sounding good,, i guess they can get the sound with modern capacitors.
Capacitor is capacitor
Great tone and playing!
I’ve got one..... I love it.
So great tones.
Hi, great demo and fantastic playing too. can i ask you which amp do you prefer, this one or the jtm45?
My favorite one.
Great tone and great playing man ! You recorded this with what ? And how did you EQ your marshall ? Thanks. Cheers. DD
+ERICLATOUR.COM treble mid and bass on 5, pres on 2
Thanks. Keep on the great work !
Sounded Great :-) What speakers you using?
Awesome playing!
Great playing! What is the amp volume setting when you start to play "Custard Pie"? Love the playing (and tones!) Keep up the good work!
Whats the attenuator that u used? Felt some tone loss?
Nice demo, what attenuator did you use?
Jimmy C looks like a Jett? No?
super musical amp and great playing and plucking man... you're getting a lot out of her.
Marshall 1987x Plexi 50 Demo
are you using the 1960AHW Marshall cabinet ?
Dude, I think I’m the only other human with an TubeJuice Attenuator .. They work but thinking a high end OX Box or other reactive load is the way to go.
certainly if you want to make full use of that amp at any hour ;) I have come to think that attenuators are a nice gadget in a studio or live situations but it really negates the use of a real cab, you will never be able to make use of the cab's full tonal capacity. Hi my friend ! Nice video ! Can you tell me which Speaker did you use to record ? And it was sm57 ? Thx
Great tone. Looks like you keep turning up the Volume I ("high treble") knob to demonstrate from 1 to 10. At what level is the Volume II ("normal") knob throughout this demo?
Good lord who is this guy? He should be famous
It's Kfir ochain he's gotta lot of great stuff on FB and utube.
wht's the volume at 1:23?
Great classic rock licks, especially at 5:27 The ubiquitous riff that not too many people can 'tastefully' pull off. I'm on the fence of adding a Marshall JTM45 or 1987x Plexi 50. Good job!
Great demo! What are your settings?
what speakers are in that cabinet? thanks! great playing! awesome sound!
Yes I'd like to know about the cab and speakers as well.
It looks like you're using a splitter and plugging into the top 2 inputs. Reason for that?? I have the 35th anniversary white one.
Love that tone man. Good job.
Hi great video and sound! You own so many marshall heads and maybe you have try many others. Can you please tell some differences between x example this plexi , a jcm 800 reissue and a jvm or a vintage modern ? Ty
Great playing
great sound, are y using mic to record or only direct out put? thank u
Hi, are you using the Marshall cab behind you or are you connected directly to the mixer or sound card? Tnk's
Great video man - good sweet tone! What speakers?
How did you mic the cabinet man?
The amp has the original bright cap or It was removed? thanks for the info ..
What cabinet are you running?
Hi. Can I as what attenuator you're using? Thanks.
it is loud enough to gig ?
Hahaha
Do Miley Cyrus’s fingers smell funny?
I was wondering where these demos went. They were uploaded by another user some months back? What's the story behind this?
I take it you are using the cab behind you, what speakers is it loaded with?
Kevin Allen most likely it’s the 1960AHW 4x12 with Celestion G12H30 Greenbacks...
with the attenuator I can play even on my appartment like a small amp without boring nobody?
To querendo arrumar um tb.

Back in the day the 50 watter was the ticket, but these new reissues, I'll take the 100 watt and twice on Sunday!!
Wow! Did you already use your attenuator to crank the Master and let final volume at bedroom levels? Do you think it may damage the amp/tubes? I tried that and my tubes almost blew....
Alright, so I need an opinion, this or the jtm45?
Is that an Altare you're using? Sitting on top
😲 🤘 🤘 🤜🤛 Sounds great
Great demo!! That sounds amazing! Love Plexi's. Were you using Greenback style speakers?
I believe the 1987 is much better than the 1959 RI.
Seems Drake did a better job with their OT's Than Dagnall.
Had a 92' 1987 and it totally killed!
Oh yes class. Nice playing too bro!
Van Halen tone with Les Paul!! Yeah!!!
Cab? Is this head all stock?
Awesome sound, man!! How do you describe this amp in comparison to 1959? Do you think it is the same, just with volume differences, or a different amp?
Del Rei It's different. The Handwired sounds better overall. This one is converted to handwired so no much difference.
Guitar Gear Demos Thank you!! What attenuator did you use? Great sound!! Was it very loud on 10?
Del Rei Cheap attenuator called Tubejuice. Yeah it was loud.
Guitar Gear Demos how much do you want for this?
Guitar Gear Demos who do you send these to, to get them converted to handwired?
Hell yes!!
beautiful sound! settings?
It sounds complexily
That sounds damned good.
Been watching demos of this amp for the past two days. Saw some really good ones, but this one kicked all there asses. If I pull the trigger on this amp, this will be the video that convinced me.
Holy Fuck I love this amp!!!
Is it kfir?
Awesome demo mate...eh ya didn't play 'Aqualung'...cheers from Down Under
How loud will this get clean, just before it gets some hair and starts to breakup?
Randall Yeager it gets very loud immediately... I suggest getting a high end attenuator. They are not cheap.
I just got one today and it is unrealistically loud. It’s acting like 100W. Anyone else have a ridiculously loud problem?
I can’t even be in the same room with it comfortably
Both 1987, 1959 are loud. He's using an attenuator. Beware and protect your hearing. These amps may benefit from a master volume.
It looks like you've got a splitter to plug into both the high inputs of both channels, am I correct?
+xMasterxRazorx Correct
+Guitar Gear Demos is it the same as jumping the channels?
Del Rei No, once you jumper from the lower channel you get -6db from that channel. When you use a Y cable you get both the loud channels.
+Guitar Gear Demos
hum.. thanks!
So, you get more gain and volume using a split cable?
Del Rei Correct
I do know that bright cap is long gone :)
Lovely tone, top notch, but I can feel the frustration of volume problems, that's why they brought out master volume control.... lovely amp nice and simple but i think you'll be dependent on pedals for versatility
hey buddy, what is the main difference between the 1987 x and the 1959 w , apart the fx loop and the wattage ? thank you ! :))
50 watts vs 100 watts.
Cool demo! I hear a little reverb in there which is cool.
Which amp is this? The heading says Marshall 1987x 50 watt demo, and in the description it says demo of Marshall super lead. Which is it? The super leads are 100 watts, not 50.
WOW
This is Kfiro
Super leads are 100 watters
