@@zAvAvAz There is something wrong with this amp. I have exactly the same DR504 and I promise you you cant stand near it with the normal channel gain at 13 o'clock and the master on full. it will damage your hearing and knock out your filliings. Has he pulled some tubes or used a sink?
@@billpugh58 yeah, i know, i don't really like them except trying to out volume someone's splawn quick rod is what they are good for and use some loud ass 18" speakers to either soak up some of that power or to be louder hahahahhahah, its a no win situation for the hearing loss
i came here to say the same thing. There simply is no way. Also whatever he would be recording with would simply completely start clipping.@@billpugh58
won't matter , as long as the master volume is all the way up to FULL . no actually hiwatts like 10 to 11 position although distorts above 10 with some speakers and other things.
Most standby switches are wired incorrectly and cause premature tube failure when used. Leave them on all the time and just use the power switch and give 30 seconds for the tubes to warm up and play.
I know this is an old video for an advert but I love the way you just plug into a Hiwatt and take the master straight to full
thats the only way to play a HIWATT is master at full.

Best amp in the world
when master is at FULL
my dream amp or the 103
awesome sounds, shape pretty good for a 1981.
sounds killer
yeah, because the master volume is on = FULL ! :o)
Is this Hylight or Biacrown version? I know that there were some of both made in 1981 after Dave Reeves passed (RIP)
The guitar is a Gibson 335?
Clean the pots ?

hello, your shop is in which country? thank you
We're in Texas
@@markbernier8947 Yeah, that's a pretty foreign land! Greetings from OK
It bothers me how this lovely amp is being handled, mains and standby "off" all at the same time?
Won’t hurt it.

I recently decided I’m not using the standby anymore. I’m the one shelling out a fortune for tubes.
Those who don't run a Hiwatt everyday will only know others assumptions.
Wtf? Sounds like crap
