Only found this channel recently, but it my absolute favorite - that said, I never refuse someone wanting to get punched in the head. Truth be told, I've never done that to anyone, so this isn't much of a threat or accommodation
My buddy tried the Coy Hill and thought he was turning into a super hero. Skin turned green and everything. Turned out he was just feeling sick from setting his throat on fire….another great video Matt!
Finally a whiskeytuber reviewed this one. Got lucky and found it in the wild and it's my absolute favorite bourbon. Have to be in the mood to get smacked around tho. DO NOT drink if you have heartburn after dinner ☠
Happy New Year Matt! and every other ADHD Whiskey fan! Always enjoy your perspective on bottles and profiles and the Best of 2021 is a great list. Big hugs to the big man!! All the Best for 2022!!
You sir, look ravishing in green. And unlike most top-10 lists out there, I can actually get most of these. Already searching for a couple that I was on the fence on. Your high ratings pushed it right over to the buy side.
Had a buddy bring his Calumet 15 by to compare to my Louisiana release of Sam Houston 15. SH15 blew it away. Also good to see I have a good number of these in my whiskey cabinet
Great review. SH has done a great job of building their label from 12 to 14 to 15 year bourbons over the last three years. Not surprised they nailed it this year especially when considering they solicited addition opinions prior to release. Sure hope they keep it up and sure glad I have numerous bottles from this year. It’s my jam too. Agree with the WIN.
Couldn't agree more about the Bomberger's. I bought it not expecting much.. but for a chill filtered 108 proof? Sheesh it's a fantastic pour! Hoping Michter's expands this line going forward, it's so much better than the Shenk's
My wife scored me a sh15 and c921 for christmas. I got the bomburgers too. Never ever seen a stagg jr and passed on the remus for a doc swinsons 15 yr. So i did pretty good i think. Just waiting now for the blood oath 2022 and the special george t stagg frenzy! Cheers!
OMGooodness. Great stuff Matt! I had the Stagg, the Remus, the Calumet Farms, the Sam Houston 15, two of the Three Batch's of ECBP (somehow those C batches have been avoiding the Western Slope for me). Tried hard finding the Coy Hill...never saw it and I wuz bummed. Thankful we can still grab a DISCO 6...at least before you posted this darn video. On that note, I am on my way to grab me some DISCO6. Peace out and here is to a great 2022 and the best year of your life. Thank you for the laughs and the content in these crazy times.

Great list Matt. Sam 15 is also my favorite, followed by the Remus. I don’t include the Old Carters because I’m such a fanboy and they create the best blends. It’s almost unfair.
Great list Mr. Porter, Unfortunately for me I’ll probably never be able to try the Coy Hill, unless you have a sample bottle just layin around you wanna ship lol! Here in good ol’ California that bottle is selling anywhere from $800 to $1000.
Loved my batch of Sam Houston, but my bottle of Coy Hill blows it outta the water. If I had and endless supply I would daily it for years to come! Not a bad bottle on the list though, great job.
The Sam Houston California batch tastes like cherry, bananas, oak and soggy barn hay. I really like the other flavors going on in there, just can’t get past those nasty barn notes. Someday maybe I’ll get to try those Colorado and Kentucky batches. I have a feeling those are better.
Happy new year matt. Interesting you say there wasnt a standout ecbp. I thought c was way better than the other two and i really enjoyed a and b. Love the list dude. Lets hope for a good 2022.
Nice list and entertaining as always. 2021 was a down year in Virginia as distribution of limited releases constricted even as more types of limited releases became available. I fell back to more available bottles and backed off the rat race a bit. But I love getting these reviews even though I’ll never see most of these on a shelf. Here’s to the Berserker of Bourbon in 2022! 🥃
@@tommyrq180 near Dahlgren by chance? Im by aberdeen. I guess I got pretty lucky this year…I have a stagg jr batch 15 also got a store pick at the end of the year…also I got the Sam Houston, and bardstown…
Well the first half of this list I though Matt was just picking the order based on how empty the bottle was. My local craft beer and liquor store has Sam Houston on the shelf. I will have to go pick one up and give it a go.
Entertaining as always! Too bad most of your 10 ten aren't available in VA. Glad I get to travel for work to places where the state doesn't control liquor distribution. Otherwise, I would have a very small and dull bourbon collection.
Last I checked my local store still had like 3 on the shelf after I bought mine. I've been really debating on going and seeing if I can grab another. 🍻
@@josephstaton8282 Yeah, I have a local store called the Beer Cellar. They specialize in beer but for some reason they can get some hard to find bottles of liquor. They had Smoke Wagon Small Batch right next to Sam Houston the last time in. I picked up the Smoke Wagon.
despite the universal hatred for it, I thought ECBP B521 was fantastic, excellent nose and delicious pallet, especially once it opens up. The ECBP from Heaven Hills bourbon experience was the best I've tasted.

Great episode Mattman. I love how you ran right through your list like falling dominoes. By chance were any of these picks under $100? Most likely not. Also I bet these picks were more expensive than last years (at the time). And next years will be even more $$. The times we live in. (whiskey golden age.) Cheers !
I can make a list of best under 100! The 4 bottles with MSRP under 100 on this list are Coy Hill (I got one for 85) Elijah Craig (70), Remus 5 (90) and Stagg Jr (60 but good luck with that one). I've also seen Calumet 15 for 99. The Bombergers and Knob Creek 15 are also right around the $100 mark.
It’s not a cold it’s omicron. Not even joking.
