A seriously attractive building. Thank you.
Thank you - what a handsome building - Chicago is a treasure trove of marvelous architecture ~
SUPERB ESSAY ! :)))
the building looks very elegant
Loved this
So many visits to Chicago and never recognized the splendor of this building...definitely on my list the next time I go!
brilliant. i will have to seek it out next time im down town.
Wow, innovation at its finest. And what a concise, yet comprehensive lesson on architecture. I have a new appreciation of steel. 🙂
What a beauty! The decorations are so successfully integrated into the overall design of the building as to virtually disappear. It must have appeared as if it was transported from the future when it was 1st constructed. A real gem.
I couldn't believe that what's now a Hotel that I stayed in Downtown Chicago is an absolute piece of history. I can't help but learn so much more from this masterpiece.
Charming little building, well little by today's standards...
This building is beautiful, both in photos and in person! Not too long after it was renovated (it was very rundown before the city purchased it and paid for the renovation in the ‘90s), my mom and I had lunch at the Atwood Cafe on the first floor, and then went upstairs to check out one of the floors. They had retained at least one room on each floor with the original room door and decor in the hall.
