It was this performance right here that made me love Taylor Swift...she was so comfortable on that stage singing a song that belongs to the king of Country music, I would think it would have had to of been nerve racking yet she doesn't seem nervous at all. And George looks at her like he is so proud of her, he always does. That was the day I decided to actually listen to some of her music and now I just adore her. People knock her music all the time. IMHO she is one of the few recent artists that actually sings from the heart. Singing from the heart, and that alone, is what defines the good country music. The music that is produced this way has substance. If Taylor Swift did one thing she stuck to her guns and sang from the heart (just like George Strait). I agree with your perception of how he looked at her. Definitely proud.

I believe that music is a very personal thing for each of us though, some people don't care for her style of music and that in itself is fine, we all have our own taste for what we like and don't like. We are individuals and our differences make us unique. It's the bashing that I have a problem with. There is no excuse for how mean people get. I saw George Strait this year in concert. Ever since then my country station has been playing this song so i looked this up on UA-cam to find the offical music video and that is how i find out about this song. I did not know that Taylor sang this song.

watch this in 2016. tbh kinda miss her country but i love every song of hers and she's getting older too so i think its best to let her express her music in a differemt ways.
That wave at the end was a foreshadowing that she would be leaving country one day and Mr. George Strait knew she was destined for bigger things.

I've never been a fan of country music, I have never even heard of George strait, As a heavy rock fan i used to scoff at music such as this, but there is no denying Taylor swifts talent and George straits amazing lyrics, this song has touched me and they both have a new fan. I have no doubt this young lady is creating many more new country fans. I'm happy for all her success, she has truly earned it. she has sparked new life into country music.

She's given Sugarland one of her RED rejects called "Babe". Little Big Town got a hit out of another TS reject called "Better Man".
I have a feeling she will be giving old album rejects to country artists since she writes more than she can fit onto an album

I don't understand why people say Taylor Swift isn't country. So her song is not always about truck, beer, or Southern Pride. Her first self-titled album is as country as it can be. There are even some unreleased works from her that are just as country. So if she is diverging from country! it doesn't matter; fact is, she did country music. Songs like Tim McGraw, Cold as You, Stay Beautiful, Love Story, or Mary's Song have a very Nashville vibe! She just wanted to go "pop", but she was not never country!

Agreed, she could be casually more country than most "country" artists nowadays with her first album and unreleased songs. She was just too talented to stick to one genre, she was smart to move to pop to increase her general appeal.
