That “leak”’ sounds has gotta be a slight separation between the air unit and the foam midsole. The actual air unit clearly isn’t leaking or it’d show some structural loss after those 45 minutes

What I was thinking too. Maybe even a space between the air unit and its chunky rubber housing.
What I was thinking as well, I haven’t seen it happen on an Air Max before but I had Concord 11’s and the 11 Low Derek Jeter Re2pect have it happen to (keep in mind my pairs came straight from Nike)

This can probable be solved by just getting some WD40 in the gap. No friction - no sound. This helps with a burst bubble

Agree! I’m not far behind you at 41, and love highlighting a new pair of kicks in every one of my videos. Couldn’t afford nice sneakers growing up, so thoroughly enjoying the hobby now that I can afford to indulge.
Love the content these guys make and I look for their reviews before planning some of my purchases.
I LOVE my 2090's, got 2 pair and use them for work, I walk around for 8 hrs a day, keep my feet more comfy then any other shoes I have.

I’ve had a similar issue with 97’s and AM90 slide and it turned on to be a defect on placement of the air unit were there is a small cavity between sole and air unit which which creates a suction. It’s annoying, but doesn’t affect the feel and comfort
I have the same issue with the Jordan mars 270. I changed them and the second pair had the same sound so I deciden to keep them because I wasn’t noticing anything bad with the air unit. I guess both pairs where made at the same factory and all got that issue...

All I know is that when the air bubble pops I call Nike and they make me send in the shoe and I get a gift card for the retail value of the shoe. Love Nike!!!

My 270s are the same, there's like a plush squeaking sound when bottoming out but I've had it for months and it's holding up.
It’s probably not seated fully in the soles making a complete seal.
@@thatchannel5294 yeah made me double think to return it at first but decided to stress it like what Foamie did and it held up, decided to keep it.
I had the same issue with the Jordan mars 270 and changed them for a new pair. That second pair had the same sound. As I wasn’t able to noticie and difference between the air unit making the sound and the one that didn’t do I decided to keep them.
Usually if the air unit is leaking or popped itll copress further than usual

This test is fugaze. Only way to test durability is to wear them for an extensive amount of time.

If it's "leaking" I think we'd see a significant change or deflation of the air bubble,
Submarge it into body of water and check if there is bubble coming out
AM 2090 is probably the best form factor sneakers fit perfectly for my daily use...they’re comfortable, with perfect narrow form that makes me feel even slimmer....and somehow I move/walk faster with them... I wear AM90, AM 97, AJ1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 11 and I feel most positive feelings when wearing the 2090...
I've had 270s, 270 React, 720, now 2090 most comfortable air max I've had, haven't had issue with air bubble either

Ah, my 270s also have that issue. Kinda scared to rock them because i thought, the air was already popped. But so far, it held up well. That noise was still there, but the air unit itself doesnt show any issues.
Interested to hear how the bubble is after the shoes sit for a week or two.
Had 2 pairs since 2020 3 yrs and used about 5 times between the 2x they last and stay strong but the quality control is horrendous paint and glue marks disgracefully noticeable upclose

Many older Airs used to make same noise. They were not an actual bubble leaks. I love this silhouette. It looks and feels all purpose and easy going, just like your video. Thanks

My air Max 270 lasted a week. Stepped on a small thorn and that was the end of that. I bought the air Max infinity. You you do a review on those
It's not a leak. Take out the insole and look at the construction. After sole swapping a few air maxes, I see they have holes underneath the materials beneath your foot. Which create a suction noise when you walk. If a shoe has a loud noise there's most likely just something up with the holes in outsole. The bubble will be fine
I have a pair of air max 270/720/ air max zero/air max 1/ air max 2017/ air max 97 and none.. I mean absolutely none of mine popped.. I’m Hesitant now to purchase the 2090s but I’m a big air max fan so fuck it..sold
Year or so back...i bought air force 270s. Same noise...right out of the box. I exchanged them twice more...bc of that air leak noise. Finally returned them for good. Then i went to several stores like footlocker, champs sports, and finish line, and tested countless pairs in stock with the sales reps, and all but one had these air leak sounds. Unreal. Either it's by design...or...its a defective design of the air unit. I tested nearly 30 pairs of air force 270s. I tweeted out to nike... Nothing came of it. If it is by design, then it's quite annoying since i was able to hear the air whooshing as i walked around the house and stores. But i never tested any other nike 270 maxs or etc

I also had that issue in my Air Force Max 270. I just put some rubbing alcohol (a lil bit) on the air unit and squeezed the unit so that I could find where the alcohol would bubble up on the surface and that would tell me where the air is coming out and I just lined it with some mighty bond glue to seal up the breach.
I used alcohol because it evaporates faster than water so there is only a slight chance of it actually going into the gap between the outsole and air unit.
Mighty bond superglue- not so messy because you only need a little of it to work and it forms a lining when it dries, covering the defect.
All these won’t go really invade the space between the outsole and unit because I squeezed the unit after application to make sure it gets squeezed out and only stays on the surface. 🙂
I also think that this is because of some outsole and air unit separation (it wasn’t glued enough).
Could it be some small gaps from the assembly between air units and the outsole
Ps. I would try to check and test my 2090 too and cheer up from BKK for a good VIDs

Foamy spray it with soap water like you would to try and find a pinhole on a flat tire or a leaky tire and see if you can find where the air is coming out
Just visit the Nike store and check another pair if they make similar noise and they maybe get a replacement or refund!?

Picked up a pair for my daughter at release. Sadly her first time lacing them up, the eyelet broke. Sent them back to Nike for a replacement.

isnt it obvious? qhwn u put pressure on one point, the air from the back just travels to a different air module where there's lesser pressure. That transfer sounds like it's leaking but it's just moving. The modules' shapes may be defective since it's making that noise.

Doesn't seem like a leak, it just seems like some air is getting sucked in and squeaked out when you lift and step. Two pieces of foam or rubber have a slit or opening. Kind of like making that pit noise as a kid haha.... air would've leaked out if that was a genuine leak. I think they should keep getting worn but you aren't feeling them so you get a pass foamie!!! Give them to someone who's been feeling them! Get buckets on another durability test, that offwhite test he did was proper!

Dude! The same thing happened to mine. Fresh out of the box there was that hissing sound. I sent em back and did not order a new pair. Sucks cause I loved the foam in the front, so squishy.
You'd feel it! Sound is annoying though. Maybe glue not holding the air bubble unit in place. If air unit is popped or leaking you'd feel it! It happened to me before. You have a one year guarantee. You can send them back and they will send you a new pair free. I did it and got a new pair free. A different Nike Air model.
might be water surrounding the bubble. Between midsole. Defo not popped otherwise it would be flat like a pancake!

I have a defective air unit with my Jordan Aerospace 720 QS saint Paris editions. Both air pockets feel the same but the left shoes air unit makes that same noise. I absolutely love the shoe but it’s making me think twice before buying those bulky exposed air units and I’ve purchased about 6 different ranging from 270s to 720s. But 1 out of 7 isn’t so bad. I should have returned the defective air unit but it’s too late now. Dope sneaker though
