1993 was an insane year! I think I have 98% from my childhood. I passed on the color variants as a 10 year old. I remember TRU had an entire aisle and half and 2 end caps of Joes for 93 - 94. I miss these days.
My God man! That much real estate? In the later 90's my local TRU lost some magic when there were smaller isles plus those X shaped kiosks for lack of a better description.
@tydiriumhanger1320 that sounds awesome, and I appreciate you cause I just got out of work and thought there's not going to be any cool videos cause of the holiday and here was a Retro Wednesday. Happy Thanksgiving!
Nice review of these figures in the original line. The monsters are not too much of a stretch considering a couple episodes included the fuzzy cute creatures turning into monsters, dinosaurs, ghosts, other dimensions, etc. in the original 1980s GI Joe series.
I think in '93 and '94, Hasbro saw the end coming and tried to maximise their tooling investment by pumping out huge numbers of repaints. 1992 was the last year that I bought any ARAH figures (until 2016).
HasBlo was literally throwing everything they had at the wall in the dire hopes that something would stick. LAF gimmicks, from 5 pt articulation Ninjas, to Eco Warriors, to Sonic Figures and the NEON, Bright Color Decos. Their Vehicle line to a Cratering Nose dive, imo, in 1990. JUST JUNK. HasBlo was Joe Military themed Lore bankrupt by 1991 for me, and the writing was definitely on the wall. I always wondered what happened and how did those imbeciles get in charge that did a U Turn and head down Stupid Boulevard. Had the Vehicles and Figures/Characters stayed True to the Original Military Sourced Material, I would have stayed in, even though I had my DL, it was a secret I kept from my friends and girl back then, as I LOVED them.
With the canisters on the mega marines. You would put the playdoh in it and put the missiles in it. It would create "warheads" on the missiles. I just learned that a couple years ago.
1:06:08 That Headhunter Stormtrooper looks cool, with more subdued colors to be harder to spot during a war combat situation, making his less obvious in battle compared to so many Neon bright characters in this later line of GI Joe.
The roll cage on the ice snake had a rubber band attached so when you open it, it sprung open too squash a joe. That's why the pointy bits on top. I don't know why the mud buster used it. Buy that has the same missiles as the ice snake.
I was done by about 1986, but I do regret not buying some choice vehicles after that Biggest regret is not getting the defiant complex and using it as center of a joe space collection Which is weird, because the space stuff annoyed me as a kid

The Retro Wed Joe Reviews Thankfully I was almost 100% OUT of buying/collecting/playing with Joes by 1991 with their Eco Warriors and Sonic Figures. Joe's just went downhill from there with their mostly LameAsF gimmicks, Bright Colors and Neon guns. 1990 was the LAST good year imo. There were a few "Good" figs here and there, but few and far between. Duke V4, but the LASf guns was a pass. Joes had lost their way. Looking back on it, you could see the writing was on the wall with their Vehicles, way back in 87, with their Pogo and Buzz Boar . 1988 had a few misses, vehicle wise, 1989 progressively worse, then 1990 the Dam busrt and it was more misses than hits and went downhill rapidly from there. 1991 was a LOST year, and 1992 had the Two planes, Liquidator and Storm Eagle as well as the Apache. BUT by then it was already GAME OVER. GI Joe had a GREAT Multi Year Run, and I was glad to be a part of it. The 1980s what a GREAT and WONDERFUL Time to be a Kid. The Toys, the Cartoons, the Movies, the Music, the Culture. Thanks again for a walk down Nostalgia lane.

Really enjoy these overviews, kinda bummed they`ll be coming to an end next week. Thanks for posting & Happy Thanksgiving!
Worry not I have a few follow up vids coming in 2025 including what it costs to collect all 500+ figures and a few insane ideas

He is a cool one and many collectors army build him

I am aware that the '93 line has many figures but I never thought it would be this vast.
Yep they sure went out with a bang

Yep moving on to bigger things
You forgot blizzards name that is his weapon that iceberg has
True and he was a special figure because he was on my 12th bday cake
I think I have the recalled roadblock
The money part is the flying spinner and launcher which is the reason for the recall

Yep they started to run out of ideas and copied whatever was on the toy Isles at the time instead of continuing what made the brand so strong
