Hi Jennifer! I had to tell you, I went to the Seattle Recreative Store this last weekend. I had never heard of this type of store until you talked about it. What a great idea! Found some great yarn and other items. Even a crochet hook that I had been looking for. So thanks for the tip! BTW, mom's are not allowed to sleep....ha ha ha, I have trouble sleeping as well. Jen in the next 9 years your world will change so much. I have two children. My son is 30. Went back to school is a lab tech at the hospital. My baby daughter is 24. Has been in college since 2018. Graduated at LSU in Microbiology. After graduation she moved to New Orleans and started Law School. She will graduate May 2025. I always worked. I am an accountant. But in 2017 my vision was so bad I could no longer work. My plans were to work until I couldn’t anymore. Now I’m at home wishing I had grandchildren. It may not be in the cards for me. I miss my children being home and needing me. It’s such a transition. My daughter will be working in a larger city. We live in a small city. Our parish or county has 70k. So one day they will have lives of their own and you will get to sleep as much as you want. lol.
I saw those rave yarns in the store and they are SOOOOO BRIGHT!!!! About your books, if you search for Little Free Libraries in your area, you can add 2 to 3 books and stock up the community library. 😊
After watching this, I went online to Joann's and ordered some beautiful yarn! I've got so many containers of yarn but they're really old and every time I see pretty yarn I think I've got to have it! I just hope my spouse doesn't find out or he's going to be upset with me, even though it's my own money!! What a grouch!

Oh my goodness, Jennifer! Every time I would do anything, someone would need me, every time, regardless of what, shower, toilet, crafting, eating, reading, sleeping, whatever, someone wanted or “needed” me. Fast forward, a decade later, I still eat at the kitchen counter, because when my butt sat down,” are you busy?” “Mom!” My daughter is almost 30, and John passed away almost three years ago, and I still eat at the kitchen counter. You saved me some money. Although the rave is pretty, I am not going to purchase it with all those “bad” portions. Although, those jewel tone prism yarns, are calling my name. Love your little chocolate squirrel. We have a ton of little ones, gray squirrels. They are such cute tree rats! Unfortunately, they have already figured out, I will feed them. I look up, and they will be staring at me through the glass door! ❤ I love it! It concerns me, that they may get dependent on my snacks, but I can’t resist! Set firm Mom Boundaries! Oh yes I’m so happy I ordered my rave but now I definitely need the prism in cotton candy and the rainbow quartz. They look so lush and I can see them in a cozy cardi. Also I’m in NYC and we have the typical gray squirrels predominantly but…… we have these cute brown and white ones that look like chipmunks, we have black ones a lot and now my daughter and I have spotted red ones they look like cute little tiny pandas.

I dont go to the store I always order online .I put everything I want in my cart and give it a day then go back and see if I really want it . If I do than I send the order out . It is true! Oranges, pink, and yellows are just so perfect together. And, you can mix in a little lavender or purple yeah. These colors make me happy too. I just bought a lion brand Mandela ombre for weight that has these luscious colors in them.I can’t decide what to do with them. I got to cakes, and want to get a bunch more. Just to look at, and squish. They make me so happy. So I get it.
Beautiful yarn! I was looking at the Rave Tuesday when I went over for my dentist appt. The colorways were very nice. I didn't buy any because I have way too much yarn that I have to use before getting more. Good afternoon 😊 I love the prim yarns you showed. Where I live I have a drive an hour just to walk into Hobby lobby, Michael’s or Joann’s. I could just drive 30 minutes to Walmart but they only have not even half the shelves on one side of the aisle they other side has cake decorated stuff. Then to top it off every time I go a lot of the yarn bins are almost empty or completely empty. Im the type of person who can’t buy yarn online because I have to touch it first before I buy it. We use to live in Denton Texas area and I had all craft stores within max 15 minutes from me. Now we live in a itty bitty town (but we are outside of town in the mountain range) that doesn’t have very many stores. We have a grocery store and Family Dollar. Walmart is in the Next town over but it’s much bigger. So we drive to Ft Smith, Ark to go to the doctors or any store we need because it’s a city…still nothing like Dallas Ft Worth area cities. Anyway I hope you’re having a wonderful day. Hugs
I work with the public and I always go out of my way to help people. It's my job! Unless you are nasty, or my favorite, act like I am beneath you. Then I do my job politely and that's it. You can go call customer service. I'm feeling like I'd love to do mosaic crochet with these bright yarns! Our Joann's was great, not so much now. Michael's stinks anymore. I have felt let down on the last few yarn trips. 🧶 💕 😘
I worked in stores and up until last Augurs I worked at Christmas Tree Shops. Years ago I worked at Bell Yarn 1977 and then in mid 90’s I worked at Fabric Bonanza. I too went out of my way to help. Cashier plus position. When we were at motels/hotels, I straightened out our beds, neatened up bathroom, hug up towels wiped off sink etc. Our room was neat when we left each day.

I have no choice but to order from JoAnns online, they closed the one that was closest to me, (an hour away). I'd be talking to her manager, it's her Job to help customers; Do your job that is what they are paying you for!!! Pretty yarns! I can't help it but every time I see pink and orange together I think of Big Bird's legs LOL that is just where my mind goes every time LOL. Awww I seen him, he is so cute!! I've never seen a black squirrel before. I love squirrels though, shoot anything cute and fuzzy or fluffy and I love it!!! lol Shoot, I am all about any type of critter! lol

There is a VA Blue Ridge yarn crawl that occurs the last week of this month into the first week of June. Shops in Charlottesville, Fishersville, Lynchburg, Roanoke, etc. Nine different shops.
I have experienced this with coupons also at Joanns. U can use Michaels coupons on ad match. Last time I went Joanns coupon was 40% off 1 item and Michaels was 50% off 1 item so I ad matched and used Michaels.

You talking about the black squirrel made me think of the first time I weent up North and saw black squirrels and was so shocked , because here in Tennessee all I had ever seen were gray or red squirrels. I didn't know that squirrels came in so many different color ways, LOL. The yarn color ways are lovely but hey Twist your quality control needs work.
Forgot to mention, we have seen numerous albino squirrels in our area. One of my dogs, we refer to as Simba the Slayer of Squirrels! Like you said, he will defend his domain.
Sometimes I think the coupons are a scam. I use them and end up paying regular price instead of the sale price🤦. Michigan squirrels will chatter at you when they are mad and I find it adorable. I have so many books but I have started to donate them to the free bird house type boxes we have around town.

Dude, Joann did that to me with the Granny Square yarn - took my order saying it was in stock when it wasn't! They wouldn't even let me cancel my order! I was so mad, that I contacted the BBB and I ended up getting a really nice email and the yarn came delivered in a few days! They had said the yarn wasn't available and it could take several week even though the stores said they had stock available! ANOTHER THING, Joann accepts your online pickup at the store orders saying everything is in stock then when you pick them up, you find out they didn't have all stock available! I don't even order like that anymore. PS: I'm right there with your dogs on FedEx - they know what they're barking about.

They gave you a discount to just get you out of the store. There are employees who will do that so they don't have to deal with customers. It's so wrong, and I don't know how they think. My sister works Joann's she told me they are going to bankruptcy, but they are not closing down. They are working with all the companies they get yarn from. To pay their debt off that they own. Just the managers are working and a few part timers cuz of store pay roll.
I have gone through times when I didn't have books available, so I have a terrible book hoarding problem! It got so bad that my son forbade me to bring home more sale books from the local library! I love books. But now that I get ebooks from the library, I'm hoarding them on my phone!
Afternoon jen enjoy your yarn pawn. I don't understand shop assistants not wanting to help you I do my weekly shop at tesco and every time I ask for help they help find get what I want. Only once did the shop assistant say I can't reach the item I want but I will get someone who can help you.
I am so with you on the Joann ripping people off thing. Another thing, they keep canceling orders because they supposedly don't have the stuff in stock. Why have it on the website if you don't have it in stock. This has happened to me many times, and did happen to me again a couple of days ago. They canceled my order. Another thing they do, they will supposedly have it right back in stock after the sale is done. Like literally the next day once the sale is over. I don't live close to a Joanne so I have to order online. Total rip-off.
My JoAnn is terrible for yarn shopping. They really only have the blanket yarns. Once in a great while they will have a few of a new yarn, but that is rare.

I was on yarn ban but found some yarn at goodwill and on marketplace that I had to have. Now I am on a yarn ban indefinitely. Love the colors!

Here in Bowling Green, KY, we have white squirrels, not albino. They are a variation of the grey squirrel. We feed them.

I always throw big twist in the dryer. What’s the big deal?
I do audiobooks now. Give them a try.
I wash everything on cold and put all acrylics in the dryer on low. Never had a problem. High heat will cause acrylic to strech out.

Dude, Joann did that to me with the Granny Square yarn - took my order saying it was in stock when it wasn't! They wouldn't even let me cancel my order! I was so mad, that I contacted the BBB and I ended up getting a really nice email and the yarn came delivered in a few days! They had said the yarn wasn't available and it could take several week even though the stores said they had stock available!
ANOTHER THING, Joann accepts your online pickup at the store orders saying everything is in stock then when you pick them up, you find out they didn't have all stock available! I don't even order like that anymore.
PS: I'm right there with your dogs on FedEx - they know what they're barking about.

They gave you a discount to just get you out of the store. There are employees who will do that so they don't have to deal with customers. It's so wrong, and I don't know how they think. My sister works Joann's she told me they are going to bankruptcy, but they are not closing down. They are working with all the companies they get yarn from. To pay their debt off that they own. Just the managers are working and a few part timers cuz of store pay roll.
Oh, your pup babies are just like mine. Fed ex , UPS & school buses my dogs go ballistic when the cruz by the house. Gotta love our babies🐕🐕🦮🐕

I have gone through times when I didn't have books available, so I have a terrible book hoarding problem! It got so bad that my son forbade me to bring home more sale books from the local library! I love books. But now that I get ebooks from the library, I'm hoarding them on my phone!

Afternoon jen enjoy your yarn pawn. I don't understand shop assistants not wanting to help you I do my weekly shop at tesco and every time I ask for help they help find get what I want. Only once did the shop assistant say I can't reach the item I want but I will get someone who can help you.

I am so with you on the Joann ripping people off thing. Another thing, they keep canceling orders because they supposedly don't have the stuff in stock. Why have it on the website if you don't have it in stock. This has happened to me many times, and did happen to me again a couple of days ago. They canceled my order. Another thing they do, they will supposedly have it right back in stock after the sale is done. Like literally the next day once the sale is over. I don't live close to a Joanne so I have to order online. Total rip-off.
My JoAnn is terrible for yarn shopping. They really only have the blanket yarns. Once in a great while they will have a few of a new yarn, but that is rare.
I need to get some of that rave ♥️
Our Weis Market does that with their pricing also
