    You can tell the age and generation of the people by their comments.
    Shaving will make the hair grow back thicker, is an old wives tale. Which has been proven by science and medical professionals decades ago. The hair only appears thicker because hair is shaved blunt at the base of the hair shaft, which is the thickest part of the strand. When left alone the hair tapers at the end making it appear thinner. It’s been proven by dermatologists that shaving the face is beneficial and often encouraged for many people. It does remove the layer of dead skin so cleansers, creams, and serums penetrate more effectively into the skin. Also, makeup primers, concealers and foundations glide on smoothly, evenly, and adheres to the surface of the skin, rather than coating the hair with a layer of makeup. Then applying any loose powder, blushes or contours on top of that, just highlights each individual hair.

    • @Andy-xx3tt
      @Andy-xx3tt 9 місяців тому +8

      Shaving off the peach fuzz isn’t bad but it’s not something that everyone should do. Aside from causing micro-tears (like physical exfoliants), if you’re using a dull or dirty razor, you can give yourself an infection if you nick your skin. People with skin conditions, such as eczema, rosacea, or cystic acne should NOT do this either because it can irritate their skin and exacerbate the problem. People with sensitive or dry skin need to be careful too because they’re basically exfoliating their skin and for anyone that already uses chemical or physical exfoliants, this is just overkill and is not good for the skin. This honestly isn’t necessary, especially if you’re already using the right products for your skin.

      @OnePlancheMan 10 місяців тому +20

      that's not true, and I'm shocked how many people still think this when it is so easily proven false. Hairs gradually taper from the root to the tip, so a long hair feels thinner. You don't notice the thickness of the base. But when you shave it, you then notice how thick and coarse the base is. When the new hair grows in and it looks and feels thicker, it was always that thick to begin with, you just never noticed.

      @@bonneymac38 you don't even need a dermatologist to answer this tbh, you just need to think about. Why would a hair need to get thicker after being shaved? How would a hair do this? Hairs are dead cells and have no way to respond to the "trauma" of being cut. So, there's no way a hair could grow back thicker in response to damage.

      Today my boyfriend (korean) showed me this video but translated for koreans and korean women insulted all western women for being so "hairy". He said to me "you are not hairy at all" so i answered that yeah that's crazy that people have different bodies so we have bully the ones that are honest or don't fit whatever we have to fit, in a sarcastic way. My hair isn't so visible but it is there and I live in Korea and I know WELL Asian women shave their dark facial hair for cosmetics or to brighten their skin, in front of men they act like this isn't true. Nation of pick mes. In Korean hospitals they shave women before any beauty procedure and before giving a birth. When I had practices (I wanted to be a dermatologist) on young people I saw Korean teenagers with hairy arms and mustaches and their own mothers could shave it but it's not good to skin if someone don't know what is really doing. I'm happy that in western people can feel better in their own skin though.
