That's a loop handle oscillator.. they made those in the 19 teens and twenties.

@@BigRobChicagoPL Your model is from the 20s. The wire is spot welded instead of twisted onto the frame. I’d estimate 1920-1923 is when your fan was made.
The second cable leading into the motor would be called the head wire.
Sounds like a airplane lol.
