How did you become so comfortable with long breath-holds underwater? My GF wants to dive with me, but she isn't the strongest swimmer and runs out of breath. We have one dive scooter so I usually drive while she grabs onto me. Usually, after about 30 seconds, she tugs on me to tell me to bring us up to breathe. I prefer to stay down much longer. Sometimes, I will squeeze her arm to encourage her to wait which results in her calming down and trying to continue to hold her breath. Then, after being under for a minute, she gets desperate, tugging harder, because she feels needs air IMMEDIATELY. I will take her up at this point. Our dives are usually under one minute. How can I help her extend her time? She says she wants to learn, but she is nervous about pushing herself to hold her breath.
The video shows courses conducted by a competent instructor (i.e. me). The task of these courses is to correctly form the skills of holding the breath, going from simple to complex. First, you need to show the beginner the basic principles of breath holding, which consist in the fact that you need to learn how to relax and not waste oxygen reserves on unnecessary movements. Then gradually increasing the difficulty of the exercises can achieve good results. I recommend contacting a freediving instructor for training.
love scuba diving and theses videos
