I have to tell you something. No matter what the content of your videos are, I am always smiling by the end of it. All I get are positive vibes, and in addition, I learn something about the places you visit. Keep up your wonderful work!
Thank you very much! Malaysia is such a foodie paradise. We could plan entire days just around meals but the great thing about KL is that there is so much to see and do as well.
Audrey totally should have took a big bite out of the durian! Very nice video and probably the first one I've watched of yours. It was well edited and the dynamic between the two of you is good. Got a grown man giggling over here. Subbing
jalan alor is not a pedestrian road. it is just that the vendors expanded their stores closer to the road and the council are not taking any action since it attracts alot of tourist.
We just got back from SE Asia last week, and I already missed it. Like Sam I love love love durian, just can't get enough of it, I was at Or Tor Kor market in Bangkok, and there were a bunch of durian stall there, I though I was in heaven... We were also there at the Jalan Alor street market in KL last year, great place for food. Love your videos keep up the good work!!!
hi just wondering, can u do hotel review or hotel tour at where u guys are staying in every country? your channel help us to get ideas on what to do and what or where to eat but we don't know where to stay. cheers, from nz
Thank you! That is an awesome suggestion. We'll definitely be doing more of those in the future and I think we'll also start talking more about the neighborhood we're staying in and the pros and cons of its location.
Why i just found out yr vid today? Hahaha. Durian is my fav fruit ever.. Glad that u like it becoz usually people said it smells 'terrible' lol. Anyway I love yr video. Love from Malaysia :)
Hi Sam-- you made me jealous with your happy tears over the coconut ice cream sundae, but made up for that by getting brain freeze. Cheers to you both!
This video reminds me of my life in Malaysia. I lived in that area for more than two years. It was hard to make money there for us but I really enjoyed living there and still miss it. And this video is great, so far the best video of Jalan Alor Vlog I've seen. I like the way he ate durian hh
Just love the different foods in Malaysia, the iced cream brain freeze had me laughing haha that's something I'd do, and regret eating the Eno,e piece later on. Those skewers look wonderful but the coconut ice cream would be my favourite. Thanks guys
Thank you very much! LOL, we get brain freezes way more than we'd like to admit ;) The coconut ice cream was just amazing. Actually it was one of our favorite street food outings in a while.
There are so many night markets in KL alone. Most only open on certain day of a week. On any other day, the area will be a normal street (which is why you see cars and motorcycles drive through the market).
Just really enjoy watching you two ,always uplifting content & very sell done! My only complaint is I always get hungry while watching your videos Lola! Take care & stay safe see you in the next one!
you guys are always hungry...........lol.......good you can eat anytime....love Durian so yum yum buttery and flavorful......i like jack fruit too.....thanks
everything is more expensive in kl city area n jl.alor ia way over pricey,go outside of kl city to nearby satellite area like kepong, cheres, kajang, all accessible by MRT or KTM train.
nite market is rotational at every housing arae from monday till saturday, from small to big sizes depands on the area population,i enjoy those at chinese area as foods r more variety ,but the nite market at taman connaught in cheras area said is the longest in kl is the mix of different races.
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos hi sam and audrey. wd recommend that you check out Connaught Night Market. they once held the title of the largest night market in Malaysia book of record. they open once weekly on Wednesday. here is the address : Jalan Cerdas, Taman Connaught, 56000, Kuala Lumpur
Great video as always guys - didn't know about Jalan Alor. Fortunately, Restoran Yusoof and Lai Foong Cafe in Chinatown were still serving the same amazing food they were dishing up last time I was there!
Hi Sam, a kind reminder for you, next time if you eat durian, don't drink beer within that period of time as it is bad for your health... you can search it up on Google or something! Anyway I really enjoy watching your videos, it's so so interesting and fun to watch :))
SmillingCat too expensive..officially Rm1.80 is the standard price.20 Sen is for fuel,1 Rm is for pay Gst.No wonder the price is Rm3.Wish they can find any place that u can try foods and more cheap than that.
if u go out from bukit bintang, the price would be much more cheaper...go to petaling jaya for durian buffet...price of ice tea not more then MYR2...for satay hunter,do check with willy satay...just nearby to KLIA...cost u MYR1.40/stick for a big, juicy, tender,&awesome sauce...come again n prepare for more action in malaysian cuisine...thanx for coming dude
Thank you very much! Unfortunately, we filmed these videos a while back so we've already left but we have more videos from Malaysia coming out on our channel. We really appreciate the offer though. When we're back again we'll let you know.
different races different festival different foods different experiences but only in 1 place it call Malaysia halal food paradise🖒🖒🖒🖒 **Tropical Weather - Sweet Sunny & Romantic Rain Only** **Important - SunBlock & Deodorant**
Hahahaha...we do enjoy most things that we eat but definitely once in a while we'll come across something we don't like. Vegemite comes to mind although Audrey enjoys it.
whaaat RM3 for that?? I can sure you the normal price is around RM1.50 - RM2. I hate how some stalls take advantage on foreigners/tourist. Tips for eating/drinking in malaysia, always ask the price before ordering. It's normal to check the price and if you find it's expensive, you can leave the restaurant and find other place :)
Thanks! That is a really good tip and we should know better to be honest. One good thing about Malaysia is that when you eat at a restaurant with fixed prices you avoid this kind of thing.
Durian smells pungent but the texture is like custard and its milky and also sweet. its hard to describe the real smell of Durian. I have a love hate relationship with Durian. sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. :) Jackfruit, on the other hand, is so good specially if its candied. You should try the Jackfruit, it is fragrant but a little chewy. I think its like biting through a dried plum or date. its really good! Jackfruit > Durian for me! 😀
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos. In the Philippines we usually put it in desserts like Halo-halo (mixed sweet beans, coconut shreds, jelly, and jackfruit topped with crushed ice, flan, ube, with evaporated milk on the side.) and Turon (Banana Spring Roll some have Jackfruit in it.) :)
i think some of them cheated you .. teh ais in open market usually priced below rm2 .. rm1.50-1.80 ,..... the best satay in malaysia is satay kajang haji samuri... they have branches across the country .. they have a huge eatery in kajang (like a huge hall) just selling satay in kajang
Yes. I'm malaysian. I got cheated too when I travel to other south east Asian country. Anyhow it is still cheap.. So I don't mind. D best food is in Malaysia and Indonesia.. But it is safer to eat in Malaysia... when I travel to other SEA country I don't simply go to stall... Like in Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam I be extra careful with d Street food. Rats are everywhere
yup you got to have big bite when you trying eat durian. automatically the smell and phobia will disappear and turns out it become the most delicious fruit.
hypnoticpoisons as a Malaysian, i stongly advise you to NOT go to any public toilet unless it was in a shopping mall or highway rest area. Other than that places, our public toilet are not that great or hygienic even for me as a local.
Is it just me, or are the food a little expensive there at Jln Alor? RM3 for that tea sounds expensive. Also RM1.50 for one satay is expensive. No offense to Jln Alor's traders, I'm sure the cost to run business there factor in somehow. But maybe you guys can go to less touristy places for better food at better prices. Just my 2 sens.
Thank you! Appreciate the feedback about that. We definitely spotted other tourists but it seemed to draw lots of locals as well. We'll have to try to find a cheaper place that is more of a hidden gem :)
Hey that was fast haha! Anyway, I don't know which place to suggest for you since it might be difficult for you to travel, and taxi/uber may be costly. In KL city center area, maybe you can try Kampung Baru if you haven't? I myself haven't been there for quite a while, so I'm not sure about the current prices there. You can try and google for that area. And maybe do a vlog of it afterwards :D
Its sad how people describe Durian as such a disappointment, as an Malaysian, I would say to a foreigner that it has the texture of an overripe avacado that is smashed with vanilla, sugar and alcohol. Like the XO one you tried is well known for its more bitter note. Great video as always, looking forward for your return in future
We plan our trips/holidays/outings based on foods, we would take a day trip to Melaka just to eat the nyonya cuisine. Would you say South East Asia has the most appealing food? If not, where is based on your opinion?
I am from SE Asia, and I can't NEVER eat Durian straight (the mushy texture that I hate so much). If it it is in a form of dessert (durian sticky rice, specifically), then I can take it.
Jalon alor, the place where everything is overpriced thanks to tourists. Don't get me wrong I'm not blaming the tourist, but as a local that is used to normal price u get on other streets it's just not worth it to eat at Jalan Alor. To me Jalan Alor is like Chinatown, it's the kind of place where people thinks that local people goes to, but not really. Food there is kinda just meh too, check out Chasing a plate, some of you might know them, they did a lot of food adventures in just KL alone, and not just any tourist spot but actual places where we locals frequent.
Now I know why some westerners who visit asian countries get overcharged and sometimes ripped off at marketplaces and hawker stalls..... LOL.... Its because everytime they post videos online, they always say everything is " Soooo Cheap...".....hehehehehehe... My wife is an Aussie and she's the same, everytime I'm trying to bargain at the night markets in asia, she always ends up saying.... "but thats sooooo cheap already...."... it just kills any chances of a good haggle...... LOL.... Interestingly though, she's addicted to Durians...

Ah, thank you very much! :)
jalan alor is not a pedestrian road. it is just that the vendors expanded their stores closer to the road and the council are not taking any action since it attracts alot of tourist.
Thanks for explaining that.

hi just wondering, can u do hotel review or hotel tour at where u guys are staying in every country?
your channel help us to get ideas on what to do and what or where to eat but we don't know where to stay.
cheers, from nz
Thank you! That is an awesome suggestion. We'll definitely be doing more of those in the future and I think we'll also start talking more about the neighborhood we're staying in and the pros and cons of its location.

I hear the song "The Moon Represents My Heart"!!!! ❤️
You have a good ear! :)
There are so many night markets in KL alone. Most only open on certain day of a week. On any other day, the area will be a normal street (which is why you see cars and motorcycles drive through the market).
Oh, thanks for letting us know about that.
Just really enjoy watching you two ,always uplifting content & very sell done! My only complaint is I always get hungry while watching your videos Lola! Take care & stay safe see you in the next one!

You have a good ear!

Thank you very much! Appreciate the healthy tip :)
Either you love it or you hate it. There are locals who have aversions for durian too.
It is funny how we both represent opposite sides. I can't get enough of it and Audrey detests it.
I wish the videos were longer lol. so much different foods in the world.
Thank you! We'll try to make them longer.
Rm3 for an ice tea? Dang u can get it at other places for only rm1.80. Haha

you need a big bite to the durian to gets the sweet taste to work
yup you got to have big bite when you trying eat durian. automatically the smell and phobia will disappear and turns out it become the most delicious fruit.
what do you think about thai people and malaysain people ?
Friendly and helpful.
you eat and drink and I love it. but where do you go when you need to go to the toilet? and hygienic is it?
I think some restaurants have toilets. We arrived kind of dehydrated so we didn't need to go ;)
hypnoticpoisons as a Malaysian, i stongly advise you to NOT go to any public toilet unless it was in a shopping mall or highway rest area. Other than that places, our public toilet are not that great or hygienic even for me as a local.
van a regresar al perú ?
Rm 3 for a glass of ice tea is normal ni Kl...
Thanks for letting us know.
Wan Din that right..
Did you like kuala lampur.
where is this food street plz tell me
It is called Jalan Alor.
Is it just me, or are the food a little expensive there at Jln Alor? RM3 for that tea sounds expensive. Also RM1.50 for one satay is expensive. I Saigon, Vietnam...locals mix all weird " stuff " in their foods. 😯
We didn't get sick in Vietnam.
Durian is the fruit that keeps giving. You taste it when you belch and you smell it when you fart.
LOL!
Welcome to the durian brotherhood buddy... Hahahaha
Oh my gosh! Thank you! I just love it and wish I had of grown up eating it :) It is hard to find outside of SE Asia.
The Singaporeans have a saying-
"Durian: it's like eating a bowl of ice cream while sitting on the toilet."
Hahaha...that is the best saying ;)
Its sad how people describe Durian as such a disappointment, as an Malaysian, I would say to a foreigner that it has the texture of an overripe avacado that is smashed with vanilla, sugar and alcohol. Like the XO one you tried is well known for its more bitter note. Great video as always, looking forward for your return in future

We plan our trips/holidays/outings based on foods, we would take a day trip to Melaka just to eat the nyonya cuisine. Would you say South East Asia has the most appealing food? If not, where is based on your opinion?
Kenneth Ho but the smelll....yuck
joyjoyoo Well, its like cheese where you can instinctively know that its cheese, same goes for durian, when I smell it I know its nearby. I lOVE IT!
Kenneth Ho hahaha 👍👍
Im now soooooo hungry!😂
i just feel like saying that Skol is not local. it is Brazilian.
Oh, thanks for letting us know.
where you from?
We're from Canada.
Canadians are one of the coolest people on earth.
I am from SE Asia, and I can't NEVER eat Durian straight (the mushy texture that I hate so much). If it it is in a form of dessert (durian sticky rice, specifically), then I can take it.
Oh, that makes sense. It is a tasty dessert for sure.
Wow haha I cant believe I saw a white man love our fruit so much thanks bro!
Hahaha...thanks...I seriously do miss it
Jalon alor, the place where everything is overpriced thanks to tourists. Don't get me wrong I'm not blaming the tourist, but as a local that is used to normal price u get on other streets it's just not worth it to eat at Jalan Alor. Food there is kinda just meh too, check out Chasing a plate, some of you might know them, they did a lot of food adventures in just KL alone, and not just any tourist spot but actual places where we locals frequent.
u don't both have to film taste everything
We just can't help ourselves ;)
That's food porn right there from 3:20... LOL Good job, Sam!
Hahaha...thanks! :)
Define "it smells so good" for a durian XD
Hahaha...I'm definitely a bit strange to admit it smells good ;)
封面用中文😃
Nice tattoo on your hand
Thanks! You can get henna done at the Batu Caves.
Jackfruit tastes like bubble gum.
Interesting interpretation.
