      I don't think they realise even their negative view on Forrest hiring a ref and the tweets they sent is highlighting exactly what they want to be highlighted.
      Some of those non penalty decisions were an absolute joke, even if what Forrest said was detrimental to the PL's credibility as a whole.. The poor level of the Video Assistant Refs credibility is hugely detrimental to the credibility of the Premier League.

    • @KingBarse
      @KingBarse 11 днів тому +18

      Also let's be honest the suggestion that the manager should say the decisions were poor in post match interviews is laughable.. 1. That interview wouldn't of got anywhere near the exposure. 2. Post match interviews highlighting horrendous ref decisions does absolutely nothing but get the manager a fine or an apology letter from the PGMOL at best. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
      Some of these clubs can get relegated off the back of a few horrendous not debatable but horrendous decisions that were reviewed by the VAR where a few points make all the difference.

    If true, and the VAR official is a Luton fan, then Forest are simply highlighting how inept and amateurish the PGMOL are. Referees should declare the town they grew up in and the club they support ( if not the same ) and should never be allowed to officiate matches with said teams. Theres a reason the officials on the international stage are not from either of the two teams playing. It should be no different at national level for the same obvious reason. Instead of instantly bashing Forest, these joke pundits should adk the question "can we first confirm whether the VAR is from Luton or Luton FC fan?" The fact that isnt their first question destroys ANY credibility they think they had.

    I don't get how Gary Neville just constantly defends the refs. Maybe Forest were a little out of line but I think they have every right to speak up, as did Liverpool. Liverpool may lose out on the league by 1 or 2 points, what happens then when they were basically denied 1-3 points by the refs in the game at Tottenham? I mentioned that because the PGMOL admitted defeat there but they also have valid complaints in the game vs Arsenal, vs Man City. There have been errors all season long all over the place, yet any time a team speaks out against it the media are saying that is wrong. No the refs deserve criticism, how else will needs be improved?

    Gary said that it lacks class for them to say something, but at this point, anyone NOT saying it, including Gary Neville himself, lacks a spine. We all see it. We all think it. We all say it amongst ourselves. Forest had the fortitude to put it in writing. Good for them. Every team should be saying it (about their own games and every other game). You talk about the damage to the league from the changes to being made to competitions and how they're doing that...when the fans lose faith in the referees, the league is already lost and none of that other stuff will matter.

    Gary you've clearly not seen the amount of ridiculous decisions that have gone against Nottingham Forest. All clubs have decisions go against them, no doubt about that. But if the decisions Forest have faced have gone against a team like say Liverpool. Jurgens head would of exploded by February.

Look at MU in the early 2000s. Look at RM now. The bigger the team you are the more likely refs are to favour you, not because of corruption but because they're spineless and weak. The statement has 36 Million views on X. Gary, the world has moved on since you played. This is now a louder voice than the manager. Previously you talked about a ref coming into clubs at the start of the season to explain rule changes being sufficient in your day. Now the refs change their interpretation of the rules multiple times through the season (e.g. handball, sufficient contact, time wasting) so having a part-time ex-referee consultant makes sense to keep players updated. Also gives Forest legitimacy to make such statements.

    I’m a Derby fan and would normally be happy to see our local rivals Forest lose.
    But in this case, the decisions were diabolical. 2 of the 3 penalty incidents were stonewall, and how VAR hasn’t overturned them I have no idea.
    So I completely back Forest for raising this so publicly. The decisions in this match alone could be the difference between staying up and relegation. Nothing will be achieved by just having a moan in a post match interview, which most managers seem to do nowadays anyway.
    Gary Neville is a good pundit but he has got it wrong here. Also, it is ironic that he is defending referees when he was part of a United team that were well known for squaring up and intimidating them in numbers during games in the late 90s.
