Incredible in-depth review! Thank you 🔪
Thanks, Mickey! This is a solid shoe! 🙌🏽
When I was a kid (in Virginia), we called them "galoshes" ... which I don't think I've ever written out until now. It sounded more like "galoshas". Regarding the shoe, I don't get the rain boot bit. I can imagine it might help with wet, short grass but the drainage would be a definitive issue crossing trail streams, where I typically misplace my foot and it gets a full soaking. I once deviated from my Hoka habit and bought Salomon Speedcross 6, but I only wore them once, in the snow. For me, cushion for distance and toe box / mid foot support for downhills is the starting point. The nice thing about Hoka is that I wear a shoe for a proper test, and if it doesn't work, I send it back. I don't have the nerve to test out the return policy for other trail shoe providers. One thing I really hate is having shoes that I don't wear lying around. You almost convinced me with the toe box description (and of course pulling out the Challenger 7, which I'm already stockpiling), and I like the lug coverage relative to the Challenger 7, but the rubber seal is a no-go. Agreed about being 🔪 looking.
Ahh, yes! I wouldn't have remembered, but I have heard them called galoshes before!
These shoes are so comfortable, but for your use they're probably a non-started just because of the drainage. For my use they're very close to perfect, but I also think that about the Challenger 7s!
Interesting here: Though for a trail shoe it’s still higher than average price, when compared to the brand’s clothese the difference is almost neglectable. The Arc’Teryx clothing difference (say, a jacket) is way higher than the average or next comparable premium expensive (Patagonia). It seems funny that their management had to abide by a more reasonable acceptable price on the shoe.
Good observation! Even though the price is higher than average, they’re still relatively inexpensive.
Looks interesting. I do like the look of these, but they don't really look like a running shoe. Nice review.
I just purchased Nike pegasus 40's. So I'm hopeful they will do well for a while. My first nice(er) running shoes.🎉
🗡️
I’m pretty sure my infatuation with these shoes is that they don’t look like the typical running shoe. 😄
Great looking shoes🗡👍
They sure are! Thanks for watching! 👊🏽
I've found it on sale for 100 bucks!
Might have to cop😮
Wow! What a deal! Snag them while you can!
@@its_Matt_B_ probably will! I also got the aerios mid gtx from the same shop a few weeks ago, for less than 125 bucks 🤑
🔪 good looking shoe. Will keep them in mind when it's time for a new pair.
Good plan! These are definitely worth a look when it’s time to buy!
🔪 Never owned a shoe from this brand. It is great to have some coverage of lesser-known brands (at least lesser-known for me)
Arc'teryx is a pretty big brand in the outdoor/alpine space, but their primary focus is not on running shoes! It seems this is good for them as they've produced several shoes that are exceptionally well made (not churning out loads of mediocre shoes). Thanks for the🔪!
🔪. Challenger 7 remains on top of my wish list thus far.
The Challenger 7 is a great shoe! It's in the right place on your list!
Hi, how would you compare the fit of this shoe to adidas Supernova Rise? Should we go half a size up if technical terrain were the main surface? Thank you and have a nice day!
The Norvan LD3 is a little wider in the toe box than the Supernova Rise, but I wear the same size in both and they feel fairly similar.
🔪Great review and it sounds like an excellent trail shoe. I'm not sure that I can find room in my heart for beige running shoes but they do it for you and that's what's important.🗡
It is an excellent trail shoe and I think that it looks a little different from the competition that I love it so much!
Hey bud, honestly I’m looking for a good Allrounder shoe to start my travel/backpacking trip.
Would this work? Specially the gtx version, for daily life, hiking, etc. what you think?
Yeah, I think this would be a good option and would stand up well to the demands of travel! The only thing to keep in mind is that GTX shoes can run a little warm if you're somewhere with warm temps! GTX shoes don't breathe (obviously 🤣) the way non-GTX shoes do!
Where are you heading off to?
Australia soon :D
Oh, nice. I went backpacking there. You'll have fun! @@BarisDuygu-q2u
Thanks, Matt 🔪

A welly is a welly, simple
That is the most simple answer. Let’s just go with that!
@@its_Matt_B_ as
As much as I like out satirical semantic banter, your/we are not going to find a better subjective adjective noun than ‘Welly’.
You never really thought I would leave it at ‘simple’ did you Matt?
@@mawilliams777 🤣 not for a second.
Nice Shoes.🔪
They're pretty fantastic! Cheers, David!
🔪 Great Review
Cheers, Brian! Great shoes make reviewing them pretty easy!
$165 is absolutely expensive and ridiculous. That being said, I got some La Sportiva's and they cost me about $140. I'm not married, no kids, no debt, and so I'm dumb but only hurting myself. For years, I ran on used shoes, some costing as little as $3 and would last a month. Want, yes. Need, no. 1st world problems.
I agree $165 is expensive, but it's right in line with market norms. You're good to save money where you can. When you have a little disposable income (or when they go on sale), these are worth a look!

Cheers, Mark!
