Speed Upgradation in Nagercoil Thiruvananthapuram section from 80kmph to 100kmph 🔥🔥🔥

Railways to increase the section speed in the Thiruvananthapuram Nagercoil section from the present limit of 80kmph to 100kmph. As part of this initiative Over run lines will be constructed at Neyyattinkara, Kulitturai and Eraniel stations. These stations donot have over run lines at present deu to which there is a permanent speed restrictions imposed on all the three stations at 50kmph.
Construction of over run lines at the stations will help to improve the section speed. The railways have started the preliminary works for construction of over run lines at Neyyattinkara, Kulitturai and Eraniel stations. Increasing the section speed is also favourable in the introduction of trainsets like Vande Bharat, Vande Metro and Vande Sleeper etc in this section in the near future.
What is an Over run line???
Its a line that keeps trains on loop line away from the main line in case the train fails to stop within the signal. This protects the mainline from damage that may happen due to such incidents. In the images below you can see the loop lines of Neyyattinkara, Kulitturai and Eraniel stations directly connected to the mainlines whereas the loop line of kazhakkuttam station on both sides are connected to the over run lines as well as the main line by means of point 💗💗💗
