Great video. I use a seflie stick placed in dumbell weights to get and overview of my technical drawings, it's easier to see. In the UK, we use millimeters, I can't get my head around feet and inches.

If the sunken area is in the section view, it will appear as a cut-out in the floor.

Cutting mat/board
A cutting mat. Smooth ones make good substrates for drawing.

Mam can you explain difference between longitudinal section and cross section???
Longitudinal is parallel to the roof ridge. Transverse is perpendicular to the roof ridge. They are both cross-sections.
