This episode of Remarkable Stories with Ustadh Nouman is one that's difficult to listen to, but is a stark reminder of the reality of death and the Hereafter.
Meet Hamza Belfadhal, CEO of One Body One Ummah, who with his closest friends engages in charity work and also swimming at the local seaside in Dublin, Ireland.
Hamza shares the story of losing his best friend, Suhayb El Sheick, after a tragic swimming accident in May of 2023. Recalling the heart-wrenching weeks of uncertainty as Suhayb remained in a coma, Hamza reflects on how Islam and his faith in Allah kept his whits together.
Ultimately, Suhayb returned to the Mercy of Allah in July 2023, and in his memory, Hamza and friends have decided to raise funds to build a masjid and Quranic school as a form of sadaqah jariyah and to continue Suhayb's legacy.

"I saw my brother (Allah y rahmo) pass away in my mom's arms during Ramadan. I thank Allah for giving us the strength, and we were fortunate that it happened during Ramadan, the holy month. It helps because even in that difficult period, I feel lucky. The Janaza prayer was on Friday, the mosque was full, and I truly felt the sense of community that day. I had to pray Tarawih; it helps me to stay on a good path. I had no choice... thanks, Allah."

SubhanaAllah 🥺 tragedies make you to become a humble 😢 i lost my dearest brother 3 years ago and at the that time, I thought I'll never recover from grieving 💔😭 I've been crying for the whole first year of his death 😭 but Alhamdulillah 🤲🏽 step by step I got through it and now I'm always aware of death, am more grateful for every time that Allah wakes me up to see an another day. And so on because I can't count blesssings of Allah. But Alhamdulillah 🤲🏽 I don't say it enough but am always trying to show a little gratitude to my Rabb. I had a sister before the age of 3 yrs was a healthy toddler and got manengitis from the heat. She no longer could Walk' Talk' See. Was the most difficult time for my mum. 😢😢 by the age of 17 yrs old. She died from phenomia. Before she died she said momma her last words 😢😢😢 . She only said momma before she was 3yrs old. SubannAllah now the amazing thing she was the most beautiful girl. Jet black curly hair bright blue eyes. When she was born literally many other people who came to visit there grandchild etc they came over to look at my sister the doctors they couldn't get over her beauty. She was indeed very special MashAllah

Im from algeria too .. lost my mom in a span of 15 minuts at fajr in last year's in ramadhan due to a sudden heart attack she was so fine then death came and she got taken from us in 15 minutes we didnt even get to say good... My whole world fell i wanted the ground to get up and smash me and my whole existence but allah and only allah made me endure get up and do what needed to be done .. i entered the room and my mom was there dead and all i did was hug her and cry on her face the strength i suddenly got was unreal

We die not bcoz of sickness, or accidents, we die bcoz our ajal has come. We will mourn for those we have lost, but at the same time, we are comforted by the fact that we will see them again in another life.
