Honestly godzilla 2014 was the better out of all the legendary movies just because it truly shows the sheer scale size of the monsters unlike 2019 and 2021 it shows how massive and heavy they were especially godzilla with the way he walked and the way the mutos walked and moved. And when they showed it from a humans perspective when he appears from the fog with a swish of his tail and began walking towards the FM muto ready to fight. This specific legendary movie will always hold a special place in my heart for the way they made it
@@pooler57 Ye, I checked the movie again and ye I can see everything, I swear the first time I saw it I thought I couldn’t see a thing when Godzilla fought the mutos
Bruh despite the little screen time he gets, you know it was done right when even the movie poster alone made your stomach turn. I was 11 when this came out and just seeing the movie posters made me uneasy. Watching it at home, I remember watching Godzilla’s grand entrance and actually being terrified at the size of him. Dude, imagine seeing him in real life. That’s scary AF. Wonderfully done.
Godzilla is real and still lives. God spoke about him in the Bible (KJV) Job 41 verses 1-34 Also, giants are real. And Hollow Earth is real. People have tried to prove it but the Banking cartels have been a stumbling block to people going there to prove it's existence. Only Jesus can save your soul from hell. Accept him today and obey God's word
2:58 as a horror/disaster monster scene this bit gave me actual chills. Gigantic beyond all comprehension and indestructable, yet this was treated with such subtle delicacy, the chord strum with the tail moving and the distant shadow only seen in the lightning flash was cinematically perfect and it seemed like the monster could be quiet n stealthy if it wanted to.
I’ve grown to really like and appreciate this film, coming back to it after the two sequels, I can really see how monster movie it really was. Keeping the monster in the shadows, creeping about catching glimpses, it definitely had some horror movie feels to it.
Paleozoic Productions He would have gone under but SOMEBODY wouldn’t stop shooting at him. And it’s not like he wants to kill anybody (aside from the monsters who want to eat him), he just can’t help it, he is fckin HUGE. Also, if you look closely at 2:10, it is clear that he stood up for the missiles not to impact the bridge. Godzilla is not like wanting to be a hero for mankind, but he *is* aware of them, if he can avoid killing them, he will avoid it
It´s the best one since the original in my opinion. I think it´s okay to show it at key moments. It creates suspense, and the cinematography was amazing.
I know Godzilla technically grows bigger after this movie, but this one especially, and even KotM, he just FEELS so much bigger and heavier. I feel like this version would trample over the New Empire version like a landslide this movie is by far the coolest the atomic breath has ever looked in the Monsterverse. Have Gareth Edwards come back! The man is so good at his job.
I hope the next director either makes a solo film for Godzilla or makes a well balanced film between Godzilla and Kong. Adam Wingard’s films were more Kong than Godzilla.
***** He might not show up until the third film after GvKK. No reason to get him over with so early, especially if they have a big universe planned-out. TBH I would love to see either Mothra or Rodan and a new monster in the 2018 film. There should exist more original creations for the LPG franchise than solely the MUTOs.
Whoever designed this Godzilla did an absolutely amazing job!!! And I still stand by this claim in 2022. But I think the MonsterVerse has improved after this, and King of the Monsters, despite not killing it at the box office, is still my favorite (second place for me is Godzilla vs Kong, which was also badass)
Ya know the monsterverse was supposed to end there this was a one movie film but because people liked it so much they started making a sequel. The original idea was for Godzilla to fight muto prime but he ended up fighting ghidorah. The thing that this Godzilla lost most about his design though was his realism and impact. He used to be a towering sluggish figure that moved lazily and slowly and you could feel that. In the newer movies there is no realism it is all bs, especially Godzilla running and jumping. That is ridiculous. Same for kong skull island. It used to be a more realistic graphic take on kong and his island. Nowadays the hollow earth is just a milked out version of skull island. Both of these films followed a pattern. They started realistic and slowly diverged into cheesy unrealism. If these movies actually had sequels more like the original and weren’t trying to be flashy maybe things would be more interesting. Instead they went down the lame path and became as cheesy as an average superhero movie.

Bruh why they gotta make the movies this dark it’s hard af to see the fights. Ik it has something to do with cost and effort for animating, but like cmon
Regular weapons do minimal damage. He got hit in the gills at the Golden Gate Bridge and it looked like that actually hurt. Nukes on the other hand… Those only make him stronger
Tbh, I prefer the pov of the military rather than a centered perspective to a random main character just watching the titans fight in the recent movies.
The shark is in Jaws for 11 minutes. There are 15 minutes of Dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. Godzilla was in the original movie for only 5 minutes. So why the hell are people complaining about this one?
The problem wasn't the lack of Godzilla, but the lack of character. Jaws and Jurassic Park had engaging characters that made us care and root for them, we wanted to see them get through it. The characters in this were not engaging enough to warrant the audience's attention. But the action pieces were awesome enough that it harshly contrasts with the lack of emotional investment, making people crave more monster action.
I have been watching this video since I was 6 years old, and now I am 13 years old, and every day when I come back from school, I watch it. Indeed, those were golden days.😢😩
2:10 - Godzilla blocks the missiles from hitting the bridge. Godzilla wasn't in the way of the missiles, but deliberately moved to block it so the people on the bridge wouldn't get hurt. Godzilla's a real bro...unlike his bastardised version, Zilla, he's a real douche.
LUL the missile are just teleguided and they were following Godzilla's movement, why would he care about humans ? He literally destroyed the bridge few seconds after with civilians on it

@@lolstuffenjoy9880 of course you can hear sounds like that in real life but not as you'd expect it from the movies. Like an airplane coming through your place. Although this particular sound effect /design of Godzilla. IDK if an animal or something this big can produce sounds like that. It's commonly used in science fiction films nowadays.
2:56 to 3:05 is so striking every time!. The eerie and minimalist music, the flow of Godzilla's tail, the shrouded atmosphere, the lightning strike that illuminates Godzilla - they all combine to make one of the most hauntingly beautiful scenes ever! WOW!!
while it is sad think of it this way. in that 8 minutes of screen time the fight he had basically destroyed all of San Francisco. if he had a screen time of an hour with fights lasting longer. the whole west coast couldve been destroyed lol. but on a more serious nnote it probably cost alot for the CGI to have the MUTOS and Godzilla appear
SUPER MEMEZ i promise you if you had a whole load of time with godzilla the impact of him would have subsided the only reason the trex in the first jurassic park is so memorable, is because he had so little time on screen but his presence was felt on an off screen, and every scene he had was a big moment, that's what they were doing here, also you have to consider how long godzilla could fight for before it just becomes big things hitting each other over and over with no meaningful result, i get what you mean but less is more.
***** I did like the latest Godzilla movie. What I really dug was the sense of reality they brought into the Godzilla world in this one. It felt more down to Earth in over-all feel. One example being was the surprised response from an on-looker who said " Did you see that?" during the monster fight after Godzilla blasted his fire breath. I also enjoyed the emotion they put into the monsters. Sure the monster bits were short in the over-all movie but the bits I saw I really enjoyed. I think if the same team made another movie it would be way more mind blowing. However I dont think they had enough marketing for this movie so I don't think they made enough money.
But Joe Brody just steals th show for me and not in a good way, im glad the hokmuto killed him, it would ɓe a hassle to watch through if he lives good riddance to bad rubbish i say

***** Even for less than 25 minutes, it always felt like Godzilla was in a little less than half the time of those movies to me for some reason. In Godzilla 2014, it felt like he was there for 6 minutes at max to be honest.
I really enjoyed this film. I saw it twice in the theater, bought the video, and even bought the soundtrack. I thought the soundtrack was great, especially the theme for the opening, and loved as to how it paid homage to the original 1954 film score by Akira Ifukube. Some people I know did not like the film, in part because of too little Godzilla on screen time. I too would have enjoyed more on screen Godzilla, but I loved the MUTO's as well, as they reminded me of Rodan (at least the one that flew). The first time you see Godzilla in full as the camera slowly pans up when he's at the airfield in Hawaii, and you see his head and hear is roar, I got chills, and a huge smile came across my face. I felt like a kid watching all the great horror movies on TV, Chiller Theater, etc. That scene alone was worth the price of admission. Godzilla is the greatest monster of all time!
I will always remember sitting in an IMAX theater listening to the rumbling of Godzilla drawing his breath in and his spines starting to glow! The guy in front of me and my dad said “Holy shit, he’s gonna breath fire.” Then when Godzilla let loose the entire theater cheered and clapped for a solid minute.

The random Weasel guy I agree. I love the classic roar but this Godzilla is different like every other era of Godzilla, and his new roar fit with him a lot more. Some parts of where they put in the classic roar in King of the Monsters felt like pure fan service.
Kudos
Honestly godzilla 2014 was the better out of all the legendary movies just because it truly shows the sheer scale size of the monsters unlike 2019 and 2021 it shows how massive and heavy they were especially godzilla with the way he walked and the way the mutos walked and moved. And when they showed it from a humans perspective when he appears from the fog with a swish of his tail and began walking towards the FM muto ready to fight. This specific legendary movie will always hold a special place in my heart for the way they made it

The problem wasn't the lack of Godzilla, but the lack of character. Jaws and Jurassic Park had engaging characters that made us care and root for them, we wanted to see them get through it. The characters in this were not engaging enough to warrant the audience's attention. But the action pieces were awesome enough that it harshly contrasts with the lack of emotional investment, making people crave more monster action.

but other than that the king is back
kingmark210 But for a 2 hour movie and only appearing for 8 minutes, that's kind of sad.
while it is sad think of it this way. in that 8 minutes of screen time the fight he had basically destroyed all of San Francisco. if he had a screen time of an hour with fights lasting longer. the whole west coast couldve been destroyed lol. but on a more serious nnote it probably cost alot for the CGI to have the MUTOS and Godzilla appear
So was Jaws. At least in the first one. And not showing him much till the end made that film brilliant. Same here, IMO.

It was that and the tail swipe @ the flying muto that really got the theater crazy on my side haha.
