I was Only allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of 1 year. Every year for the last 8 year I must reapply to stay in the Kingdom. If nothing has changed and all of the requirements are fulfilled by me, and all paperwork is in order, I can stay another year in Thailand. Every year it seams Thailand changes so lets see if this year is any different. Hi Chuck and Paige, i am a member and a subscriber recently retired coming up on 2 years now. I was a Construction Supt for a large construction company in the SF Bay Area and the best thing i ever bought was a HP office jet 100 mobile printer that was rechargeable and Bluetooth from my mobile phone and didn't even get out of my truck. I live near Kuchinarai and understand the simple idea of having to go somewhere to make copies to bring back and visualize your patience. Like you i was a problem solver and ate stress for breakfast but that is all gone now and hope to just buy you guys a simple beer someday. I really enjoy your videos and mindset! Rock on.

After 30 years in Thailand and too many bad experiences with immigration. I now use an agent. I am lucky I can, for a small amount of money I have a stress free annual renewal.
Congratulations on getting your renewal sorted.

Hi Chuck, I'm glad to see you got your extension for another year. Here in Chonburi immigration they seem to make it as complicated as possible so that you will use an agent. Either way, it's a small price to pay to live in paradise.

Udon seems to be an easier renewal process since they moved to the permanent office near police station, although Ive seen some 'customers' becoming quite irate because they're not prepared. Pretty friendly staff in there. I usually go in couple days prior and get the 'what you need' pamphlet . Then go in with everything needed in duplicate.- never been kicked back. I do the monthly transfer, not the parked 800K. 30 days before visa extension expires. Been doing the 90 day check online for two years.

I know that in Thailand different provinces can have differing interpretations of the rules
However the basics are the same.
I am married to a Thai national and go through the same paperwork as you do, one big exception is a marriage visa you only have to show 400,000 not 800,000.
I use the BKK bank and have no problem getting a copy statement stamped by the bank (for a small fee)
One problem is if you arrive too late at immigration you have to go get another bank statement as it’s only valid on the day it was given.
To be true it’s not rocket science and my wife does it all and I just sit and ‘smile and wave’
But it’s Thailand so never expect consistency 😂
    Good vlog as usual

I just did my new visa for Vietnam. We did it ourselves this time without an agent (for the first time). I changed from TRC to 5 years visa exemption. In a few months we're moving over to the states for a few years and are planning on doing the vanlife thing. We also want to spend some time with my parents while they're still young enough to do a lot of things and be active.

I think so many people get themselves worked up about getting their yearly extension of stay , my first year I was nervous about whether I’d get it , the next 2 years have been easy once you know the routine and what to expect , I consider visa day as a day out , go for a nice lunch somewhere close to immigration ( korat area ) last time it took me 2 hours and that included their lunch hour ,
Still good to see the stamp in your passport though , regards Davy 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇹🇭

The requirements are less too ….. only need 100,000THB in any bank account (can be over seas or Thailand) ….. if it works out for you plan you me next trip back to the USA around the time your retirement visa is about to expire and get the DTV ….. the whole process only took me about 2 weeks now I am good to come and go as I please for 5 years

I was told by Siam (the purple one) bank that they won't let a foreigner to have 2 bank accounts anymore. I am going to be at TLP tomorrow and I am going to ask about this. The bank said the law is about three months old. As usual maybe another bank will tell you something different but I tried Siam and the green one with no luck. I got a multiple entry with my current visa that will expire 29 April. I got two scheduled overseas before my yearly expires. Question to you, I read somewhere that I can process 45 days earlier for my yearly that's what I plan to do because my trip to USA will be in April 8th, is my multiple entry still good through the 29th even i decide not to avail the multiple entry for the next renewal? I'll just get re-entry as needed prior to any future travels 2025. Hope I made sense for my question. Thanks for any advise. Peace

Do you live in Thailand if not how would you know, Chuck is only explaining the immigration process in Thailand, it's informative that he's giving his opinion on the process because it's a big decision for someone to move to Thailand especially if you are moving to an area which doesn't accept immigration experts to deal with the immigration process on your behalf.
So it is a big deal in my opinion because I'm hoping to be retiring to Thailand in 4 years in April and it won't be in the crazy town Pattaya or the overrated Patong.

For today's pointless observation....... 😂 ....... In the version of "A Horse With No Name" you used in this video, the singer says "I went through the desert WITH a horse with no name," rather than "ON a horse with no name." So I wonder...... Does the singer consider riding a horse to be cruel, so he goes WITH the horse, rather than ON it? 😂😂😂 Is a horse to this man just like another big ol' dog he goes traipsing through the desert with? 😂
Heh heh, as I said....... pointless. But still a little funny, I think, that he changed the word from "on" to "with!"
    Cheers!

Nongkhai Immigration is very good and helpful, and some speak English. I use Kasikornbank very easily and usefully for my Retirement visa.
