god what is wrong with that reporter? she was asking some questions that were beyond reporter-appropriate. "So you're saying you're a virgin?" seriously? and wow, she was incredibly narrow-minded about gender and sexuality.
selppin I didn't find her questions rude but she did ask the same question of whether he thought of himself as a man or a woman over and over again in different ways which made for a very boring interview, since she already got the answer the first time she asked.
selppin IKR. and "Most of us have a general idea! HAahah!! (who they're going to marry" Umm.... So ignorant and stupid. She's like a century behind I think. Everyone doesn't know who they like, and there ARE bisexual and pansexual people, hello??
Most of us know? Know what? I'm bisexual and I still don't know what sex I will ever end up marrying. What kind of question is that to ask someone? Especially at that point in the interview where it's clear that he's asexual.
Andrej kicks arse with this interviewer, who's bluntness, incredulity and apparent bewilderment serves as poor veil for a seriously unprofessional lack of respect.
I love him! I can see why his hitting it big in the industry, his stunning and really knows how to hold himself with rude interviewers asking such personal questions like this!
Once in a while someone comes along who is above all this nonsense about gender, profiling males or females, dictating what is 'normal." Andre is level-headed, sincere and very smart and knows who he is. Being feminine or masculine isn't what is important. What is important is how it all comes together and living with it in a positive way. He is fearless and not influenced by others' opinions of him. This makes his super strong and indestructible.
Agreed Selppin, I'm a mother of beautiful daughters, 22 and 25 and I'd be furious, if a reporter asked them those same questions. It is so inappropriate and vulgar, especially, since Andrej is a minor! Talk about almost, abusive. Andrej has obviously been through so much in his/her life, the reporter could have centered on the trials he/she has suffered and how he/she rose above that. How about a question on favorite designers, how do colleague models view him/her. Are they jealous or does Andrej have close friends? Who inspired him/her?..etc...I was in New York radio and interviewed many people and always tried to build them up, it makes them open up, more. Either this reporter is from the Ozarks or a mean-spirited user who has to insult a teenager to get cheap ratings.
He answered the interviewer's questions with such poise. Good for him for being comfortable enough to share his confident view of himself with the world!
I'd think he's probably gender-fluid if we're going to categorize. Anyway, in my opinion, we shouldn't need to feel like we have fit a certain category, gender or another. Can't we all just be who we are? I think Andrea was trying to say the same thing, when he answered those questions as he did. I think he's great and very beautiful. And I don't see why people have to think that feminine is "a woman" and masculine means you're "a man". Why can't they be just adjectives for how a person or a thing look like from the shapes and style? Why always have to throw gender in there too?
I agree and must add that the reporter seemed to be trying to put him in either the "male" box or the "female" box. There was no room for ambiguity. However, he is also using this ambiguity to his advantage, coyly shying away from giving a straight answer. It works both ways
I don't understand why the reporter keeps probing about what Andrej sees in the mirror or asks have you had sex with a female. Does that really matter. Come on. Andrej is a person and needs to be respected as a person simply working in a career field he loves. Stop making him out to be a freak. He is simply Andrej Pejic.
All through my teen years I was constantly being mistaken for a girl. Through a model friend of my mom's, when I was eighteen I got with a modeling and TV commercial agent but even after a year he had been unable to get me any jobs. Each time he said that the client went union on us. I later overheard my mom's model friend tell my mom that the reason I could not get any jobs was that i looked too feminine. I would have loved to be hired to model girls' clothes, especially the really feminine and girlish prom dresses that were the style then!
Have transformed to a woman?? If so let me tell that being a woman is a horrible thing coz you are being judge all the time And you are the victim all the time. Stay as a man as much as you could This is from a woman perspective Sorry for discomfort
That interviewer was so rude. Even if she was required to ask those questions...she didn't need to be so judgemental. He's happy with who he is. Can she say the same?
The interviewer is determined to get to the bottom of it! "When you look at yourself in the mirror, do you see a man or a woman?" "When you dressed up as a child, did you see a girl or a boy?" I wish he'd just told her to mind her own business.
For some reason I ADORE him. He's so pretty and open-minded and comfortable with himself. The interviewer kept trying to pinpoint his sexuality like omg leave him alone already, he'll marry who he loves, that's it, that's all. gosh -.-
Judgmental reporter. I dislike her facial expression, her tone, the way she look at Andrej. "Are you gonna marry a man or a woman?" wtf kinda question. its her life!
The interview was more like an interrogation (but conducted in a 'faux friendly" format), perhaps to pander to the prevailing traditionalist attitudes and perceptions of the vast majority of the viewers.
Exactly! That is her job. What should she be asking him, "How's the weather?"? Any and all interviewees are always free to respond in any way they see fit. So if you think a question is too intrusive, how about: "No comment." or "Ask me in a couple years." or "If I asked you that question, how would YOU answer?" etc. Everyone who accepts a place in the public eye MUST be expected and prepared to at least respond to questions in some way. Sure, one could be silent but still accept public response
Haha. That reporter just couldn't wrap her mind around hi's open and undefined gender identity. Totally unprofessional of her to keep pushing on the male or female question. My mother is married to another woman and some people just can't understand that it is a totally unproblematic issue to me.
My god, does the interviewer forget he's only 19? Who really knew themselves or was comfortable offering such personal information at that age? I give him props for standing his ground though, and stressing the fact that just because he's a model does not mean he's sleeping around.
Honestly, this is the logical conclusion to the models we see in the runway. They all look exactly like how he looks: rail thin, no boobs or butt, androgynous looking (or pre pubescent). It's not a big leap to say that men could pull off female model's looks, seeing how most female models look like youthful men.
Why do they keep asking these questions? "Do you see yourself as a man or woman" "Did you see yourself as a girl or a boy?" There are people who define themselves as neither man nor woman, and they deserve to be treated the way they want. Why do you have to make him/her* fit your lifestyle of gender definitions? *We really need a new gender neutral pronoun.
that interviewer was really getting on my nerves. especially when she asks him who hes going to marry. like just get off his back. if he wants to marry a man he will, if he wants to marry a women he will, it wont make any difference.
Andreja is a trans woman, according to what I've read recently. This news story is kind of old. That was a cringe-worthy interview, and if I were in Andreja's shoes, I would seriously consider beating up that reporter! Ambiguity can confuse and frustrate people, so I'm not surprised that the reporter was so intrusive. But it doesn't excuse that deplorable behaviour, under the guise of cheerful inquiry! And Andreja was still a teenager! OMG! So inappropriate!
The interviewer just doesn't get it...shut up, woman. He seems so 'clean' somehow...with all the sexism floating around, androgyny can be refreshing. I like him.
Macy Adams haha where exactly? i've read the bible a thousand times, and nowhere does it say ''Guys aren't supposed to be effeminate''. lol yeah typical bigots, blame your own narrow mindedness on the bible.
"Have you ever had sex with a girl? Are you marrying a guy or a girl? Do you think you're a guy or a girl?" I gotta commend Andrej for playing it off so politely, but I can't help but notice how his smile faded a little bit faster with each question. Totally rude of her.
He is only 19 and such a gorgeous young person. I felt sorry for Andrej during the interview. It seems like he is still confused and trying to discover his sexuality and who he is and the reporter kept asking him some really stupid questions. If he is happy, leave him be. Why was she pressuring him to make decisions for her during the interview? I found that so disrespectful.
That reporter asked way to many personal questions. Like, she was doing her job, but she went a little to far. She went to the point where the model was uncomfortable, and wasn't certain how to answer these personal questions. Wow, she should be fired. -______-
He and his agent were more than capable of refusing the interview and/or limiting or even writing any questions. Its not as if the interviewer has a gun to his or anybody's head. There ARE public figures who never grant interviews as matter of policy. People, her questions are/were NOT rude. They are ALL good questions, well selected to answer what the public would be curious about. Nobody forced Andre to do the interview. Geeze, get real!
I love how he doesn't get offended. He seems to be very comfortable with who he is.
I'm built a little bit more manly than him, but I would not mind the questions.
god what is wrong with that reporter? she was asking some questions that were beyond reporter-appropriate. "So you're saying you're a virgin?" seriously? and wow, she was incredibly narrow-minded about gender and sexuality.
selppin I know, right? I have never seen anyone be that rude to someone during an interview.
selppin I didn't find her questions rude but she did ask the same question of whether he thought of himself as a man or a woman over and over again in different ways which made for a very boring interview, since she already got the answer the first time she asked.

the way the reporter handled this interview is incredibly rude
MsMarshmellowie I'd like to smack her face.
MsMarshmellowie the interviewee is incredibly confused
+MsMarshmellowie I agree with you girl.
But he was laughing. Not every one is a strict political correct type.
wow, the reporter has really put herself in a box when it comes to gender and sexuality. what a shame.
Most of us know? Know what? I'm bisexual and I still don't know what sex I will ever end up marrying. What kind of question is that to ask someone? Especially at that point in the interview where it's clear that he's asexual.
I totally agree. It's good that everyone noticed how rude the interviewer is. I think Andrej is amazing!
Andrej kicks arse with this interviewer, who's bluntness, incredulity and apparent bewilderment serves as poor veil for a seriously unprofessional lack of respect.

Is this person a pansexual?? A person who likes all genders. So open-minded. I respect that.
he is gorgeous...more gorgeous than most models..

he has a cute smile :)
LOVE your comment it's get's tiresome and boring reading the same thing in the comments on UA-cam!!.
The interviewer is determined to get to the bottom of it!

I love this. This should be the new standard.
this woman is rude.
Andrej is beautiul.
Beauty! Unnecessary to ask him man or woman.
Thumbs up for the model, thumbs down for the rude judgmental reporter.
Judgmental reporter. I dislike her facial expression, her tone, the way she look at Andrej. "Are you gonna marry a man or a woman?" wtf kinda question. its her life!
He is the most beautiful woman I have EVER SEEN!!
The interview was more like an interrogation (but conducted in a 'faux friendly" format), perhaps to pander to the prevailing traditionalist attitudes and perceptions of the vast majority of the viewers.
The reporter is really tactless and doesn't know the boundaries.
wtf is this reporter haha, shes too much

The reporter is kind of really annoying :/

He's so pretty
He's gorgeous, I don't care much about his gender!
Really? He seemed clever enough during the interview.
Haha. That reporter just couldn't wrap her mind around hi's open and undefined gender identity. Totally unprofessional of her to keep pushing on the male or female question. My mother is married to another woman and some people just can't understand that it is a totally unproblematic issue to me.

Androgynous and Femboys have the right to express themselves in society without this disgusting hate

Interesting guy. I like how he owns who he is :D
That reporter is way too disrespectful.

He/she is stunning
I'm under the impression it is you who's confused, otherwise you'd show a profile pic.

The interviewer just doesn't get it...shut up, woman.
He seems so 'clean' somehow...with all the sexism floating around,

That guy looks fabulous and must have many wanting to be dating him as fine as he is.

Nah, her job was to be at least somewhat informed on him, and not ask the same damn questions everyone else does. And she did.
Juju Chang was very bold in the interview
K,so he is a little taller and slimmer than me - definitely possible in the rage of possible men's builds.
