What if China has installed thousands of small radars in thousands of valleys in the mountains? Do not understand them, they are smart. At that time we can't say, Oh we didn't know that. All those time Indian Army had not even thought about the Light tanks on high mountain regions, only after watching Chinese tanks we realized the need of light tanks. Imagine if there was a war, we would have been caught by surprise.
This is the type of double ignorance or terrain and radar that helps to create mythology and Lord of the Rings type of stories. Ignorance of terrain is mentioned in the video.
The efficacy of AWACS is not all that it is made out to be. While LoS from "altitude" might be better than ground, the compression of equipment and power supply to suit an aircraft compromises the suite. Secondly, the cross-section of the surveillance beam is narrower than the ground based system because of aerodynamics and avionic limitations. Third would be the command and control of the theatre. Unless the ATC is transferred to the AWACS, like in the case of Balakot Operation, coordination delay cannot be avoided. And it's well known how hawkish the PLA & PLAAF is about relinquishing command and control.
You are a blessing Sir. Two things are clear. One PLAAF's ability to deploy is limited. Second momo's stress on their air defence is a clear acceptance of their lack of offensive capabilities.
The game has shifted to a different dimension. We are talking about radar coverage while Chinese satellites hover at altitudes where the term “airspace” melds into darkness. Sure, the Indian territory and the aircraft have the advantage of terrain shielding but VLRTRs coupled with the satellites provide a real time image with a resolution better than any imaginable radar system which are uplinked to the entire AWACs network. Funnier even, it is repeated often that PLAAF is operating from high altitude airfields and are severely limited by payload. I have frolicked at how the so called experts here conveniently ignored the role of midair refuellers. Get an aircraft airborne from these airfield with maximum armament and minimal fuel. Once at comfortable altitude, refuel and deliver the weapon. Yet, we keep on banging the drum that IAF is operating from sea level bases. Ridiculous. We are observing massive improvements in infrastructure along the eastern corridor. But to be honest, we are about 40 years behind our adversaries. The best opportunity was back in 1961 when IAF aircraft patrolled over Lhasa unmolested. Now, even with Rafales and new fangled toys, the eastern region of the country is in a precarious place.
you have a great point but neither VLRTR nor the satellites can be used for weapon guidance unlike a awacs that can vector missiles in real time, and due to the large scope of search in the case of satellites time taken to collate and analyze images is a big duration which cant be used in real time environments like flight vectoring, yes satellites may be good for detecting plume from a ballistic missile.
Not really. Real time updates of aircraft good enough for targeting are not possible via satellite. You need to brush up on radar theory over social media mythology
@@cybersurg well I operate in the eastern region on a daily basis in a civilian aircraft. The number of holes there are where the radars are not able to pick us up despite of having SSRs onboard is simply astounding. If I had to survive on social media mythology, I would be sitting on the grassy knells watching radars swivel in Tezpur chewing hay.
Looking at the terrain and the height of the mountains. In Air warfare, whoever attacks first will win. And as we know India will never attavk first. Because we have a disease of not taking pre-emptive measures.
What about mysterious sightings of flying objects in imphal? CISF had reported. What about the Indian radar system of forces to track unidentified planes or objects. Took too much time to respond means they were unknown about a mysterious object flying in their sky for minutes and only people who saw it and airport director of imphal airspace reported it. And that object went away without any action being taken by Indian Forces. Is this our readiness against unknown things coming into our NE skies and sluggish response? No further news came from that incident.
sat just like radars dont send a vid feed of the grnd they take pics every time they revolve arond the POI .... plus sats arent like hovering ... they are revolving around the earth ... plus again trying to locate a flying plane (in mountain region) is like finding a single blue bottle in a ocean (almost impossible to find in time to intercept )
@@captainparv5009 I understand the visibility aspect and also the fact that sats generally have a 24 hr lap time minimum, but what about geostationary satellites? Is that a possibility and do we have countermeasures for that?
@@protikbanerjee5933 No. Extraordinary power supply is needed for radar even at 300 km. Geostat satellties at 36,000 km cannot generate that power. Besides, the time that it takes for just one pulse of radar to reach a target and bounce back is just too long. But thanks for asking this question. Satellite radar is another myth that people ask about China. Basic ignorance of radar physics is used to make such claims.
Revisit time of satellites is less(weeks in some cases) you could use geostationary but they would have a hard time tracking the fast moving fighter jets(Inverse square low of radiation)
If you try to get all your information from videos made by unknown people you will only get misinformation. The fact that this is a lie is something you can find out for yourself by reading the news, and looking at Google maps.
Chinese AWACS especially the more numerous KJ500 have three array AESA housed in an non rotating dome that ensures 360 radar coverage at fast refresh rates as the radar beams are rotated electronically. Then there is a huge Devine Eagle AEW drone with two AESA arrays. Then there are Jilin satellite earth observation constellation that can provide a realtime continuous video and target recognition and now like US they are developing low orbit radar satellites to replace or supplement AEW aircraft and guide missiles over long distances. China also has indigenous low altitude look down radars to cover gaps. Overall its a formidable surveillance capability. But nothing is 100% there will always be gaps, effects of terrain, weather, etc that can be exploited as the opportunities present.
An aircraft flying above the mountains does not have the same advantages of terrain. You did not listen to the argument presented in the video. Catching sight of the aircraft on Radar does not men targeting and actual destruction.
@suryamitra7397 IAF is operating at lower ceiling than chinese af. Thats not the point. The point is that is it possible for IAF to catch J20 signatures (cuz it was said specifically that Su30 was able to detect j20). J20 already is claimed to be a 5th gen so we can assume that it has advanced stealth technology which im sure we cannot simply just detect with a su30 radar. And if terrain is such a hindrance then alreadg it should have been difficult to detect any aircraft let alone a stealth one. So my point is whether or not the IAF is capable or not to do this
Obviously IAF will count on magic to find approaching PLAAF aircrafts on Tibet airspace to give it enough time to take the advantage of the blind spots of Chinese radar for intercepting. Otherwise due to the fact that IAF only has 3 AWACS, which isn't enough to maintain patrolling the border 24/7; and since the radar blockage caused by mountains goes both ways which causes Indian ground radar also can not detect these Chinese aircrafts before it is too late, practically these radar blind spots wouldn't give IAF the edge which Indian military fanboys claimed if PLAAF indeed launched such kind of attack on IAF. The 2019 Jammu and Kashmir airstrikes proves that without AWACS's support, IAF won't have enough time to assemble enough fighter-jets to intercept the invasion aircrafts.
