Interesting take on a challenging build. I'm liking what you've done. The nose seems to be a bit of a fiddle to remove. Just imagine you're at one of those conventions, being interviewed and it's such a fiddle. But I'm certain you'll find a solution. I have massive respect for your work, you really take this craft (Lego) to a whole new level. I think once I find a job, I might become a Patreon
This is so AWESOME!!!! Flight engineer chair would be hard to do for full realism because the real one swivels and then slides forward on a track for takeoff (Flight Engineer disengages the aft-burners and pulls back on throttles after take-off to prevent the plane from violating noise ordinances). Also, that is not the windshield. That is the visor that protects the windshield from the friction of the wind at supersonic speeds as well as filters out UV light so the Captain and First Officer don't lose their vision.
The windshield of the Concorde actually slide down not bend down :D Later if you build the Soviet Concorde Tupolev Tu-144, the droop snoot nose maybe easier to build. More: the Concorde had 1 more pilot is flight engineer.
On the nose: you have the 2 upper parts that have to be removed to move the nose, if you change the studs from the not angeled version to a studless piece, than the upped two parts slide out and dont have to be removed and put back on
I love the progress on this plane, but for the snoot would it be possible to replace the staff pieces with the secondary windscreen of the Concorde i'm not sure but with the staffs it just looks off
The reverse buckets are also the secondary nozzle, the position you show them in for “reverse” is more like the position for takeoff, in reverse thrust the buckets are completely closed/vertical and touching in the centre. For supersonic flight the buckets open fully to make a con-di-nozzle (convergent divergent nozzle).
Not sure about that nose but the rest of the plane is looking pretty accurate. I’m assuming ur gonna upgrade the nose later on so I’m fine with it I guess for now. Keep up the great work!
Actually the thrust reverser lids fully close and wont let(probably only little)air out heading rear but forward to slow it down when they are activated, just some thing to note
Great job I saw you on “beyond the brick”. You really did a good review telling everyone about how you build it, maybe also do such big review on your own channel. (Ps I’m Dutch and would love to see a klm plane, al tough little light blue pieces made Try collecting them!)
Yeah, man, nice, but, if you look at concorde, the nose starts to get narrower just in front of where wing starts. So now all of the front section for me doesn't look quite right, and the droop snoop looks sort of too massive... But really nice job on the wings!!!
You should submit this to lego ideas. I love the concept, although the design needs a few tweaks, but I feel like this would be something that a lot of people would like.
Interesting factoids for Concorde lovers... 1. The British wanted to use the English form 'Concord' to name the plane. However, the French (President Charles de Gaulle in particular) were adamant that it be spelled 'Concorde' instead, the French form. 2. It's the only aircraft that is able to sustain a cruising speed of Mach II without assistance of thirsty afterburners. 3. The British Parliament wanted to shelve and walk away from the project toward the end of development due to massive cost overruns. However, the French (President Charles de Gaulle) were bent on building it, damn the financial consequences. 4. The first Concorde to fly was assembled by the French at Toulouse, France (where Airbus is headquartered today). Bottom line: we wouldn't have had Concorde without steadfast French involvement. Also, the French began designing a supersonic transport aircraft in 1960. It was dubbed 'Super Caravelle.'
I built a lego city sized concord a few days ago and used very similar sliding mechanism for the drop snoot seems to be the best way to do it the only problem with it is support but mine really just sits at my London airport moc so doesn’t really need a ton of support
This is amazing progress, I wish a kit like this was available from Lego or even Airfix (A new one anyway). The nose looks awesome too, apart from the bulging in at the seam between the nose cone and the actual front of the airframe. Makes me wonder whether this could be modified into a prototype Concorde like G-BSST or F-WTSS, the prototype iterations are probably my favourite versions out of the entire Concorde production timeline. The old style visor with two windows and the shorter and fatter airframe just makes me laugh. I can't wait to see the finished version, I suggest you try looking at the Tupolev-144 or XB-70, should you have a desire to make another delta winged jet.
I feel like you talked about the next plane recently, but I don't remember what video that was. I think it'd be pretty cool if you did the 777-9 or 8, if you decide to do a 777. (The -8 would be smaller and take up less space, even though they're focusing on just the -9 right now.) Also, a small regional airliner would be cool as well, like a Dash 8 or atr-72.
The model is gorgeous is amazing seeing such a legend being built in such an elegant and respectful way. Your honestly a lego master ahah, A suggestion for the nose, the curve bricks used on the top give the nose a heavy look possibly changing the curve plates to flat plates may change this.
@Nevan Bowman-Wilson: correct observation. I wanted to suggest the same. The nose needs to be more straight and less curved. Also the „you need to remove three bricks“ mechanism should probably be improved somehow. The usual way of keeping things locked, but detachable in official LEGO models is making use of the fork-pieces clutching onto a handle like the hand of a lego figure. (I don’t know how to describe this better...) Maybe this could keep the nose in place while in „cruise“ mode without the „fixing bricks“. And then you simply pull on the nose and it then lowers to the taxi position. I am sure, you will figure something out!
@@philipkudrna5643 funny I read this after I completely rebuilding the nose. And I came to many of the same conclusions. The main problem is the nose is too long and too fat. I removed about 4 studs from the drooping part and made it thinner. Also got rid of the large curved slope. It also now has no detachable parts to function.
I love your new Concorde series its such unique aircraft and I love it! Next you could make such plane as like a triple 7 with correctly 6 wheels each side of the back landing gear and interior. Also I think that the windows should be more curved if you could get any new windows for it. [If not its ok]
“I think we did pretty good” Dude! You did amazing. I was expecting that the nose would be a little bit off, because there are no parts to look the nose smoothly. But you made it so awesome! All the curves are just like the real one and it’s so smooth!!! My jaw litterally dropped when you demontrate the droop snoot. I love all your planes, but I think this is the best one you ever made!!!!! Soooo, next project is Baluga XL? 😉
Hey @bigplanes would u make a video about the building techniques u use when building your planes? I would be interested in learning more about the techniques u use:)
The droop snoot droops!! And for those of you who thought the nose section was too large, I’ve rebuilt that part and it will be in the next video.
Hey on your new models you should add a lot of advanced stuff. Like reverse thrust on the a380. Your building is the most extreme of the extreme!
Nice!
A brief question, have you ever dropped a Lego plane?
Shops stops locks

I wish I had money to buy that mutch lego to build because I'm good at building stuff like that so yea😔
nose looks a bit off, but it's getting there! hope this project is done soon.
It was really off. I completely rebuilt it. Made the droop part smaller.
@@BigPlanesCustomLEGOaircraft Eo you have another video coming out for the concorde today?

Russian Cookie Monster Series 4 or 5, 44 mm. Could be a series 4 because the always on display is off.

Please dont forget those shutters at the entrance of the engines! Nice work 👍
That's a smart way to do the cockpit visor! Still no water deflectors on the gear though.
Imagine thus being a LEGO IDEAS set :O

It’s beautiful the Concorde if one of if the most amazing and beautiful aircrafts ever built
Oh my god, I love the nose. Keep this up bro, you are doing great stuff.
DROOP SNOOT & thrust reversers! AWESOME! 😃
The windshield of the Concorde actually slide down not bend down :D
Later if you build the Soviet Concorde Tupolev Tu-144, the droop snoot nose maybe easier to build.

It was a compromise to have it bend.

It was like that initially. The nose needs to be better secured though.
BigPlanes what about using a technic axle or some sort of lock operated from the underside to lock the nose

Finally! I've waited an update on this concorde..!

For supersonic flight the buckets open fully to make a con-di-nozzle (convergent divergent nozzle).
I noticed that. Sadly, the LEGO just won’t rotate that far without some serious compromises in aesthetics.
Not bad at all for a first try, keep it up you are getting there!
Your skills are soaring to new heights!

wow..such a cool job man!! thanks for sharing this..this is amazing! specially for somebody who spent their entire childhood building legos.. aahhah

Great job on the nose. It’s so difficult to make streamlined elements out of bricks.

Thanks!! The primary reason I haven’t done KLM is because windows don’t exist in that color blue. If they did I would build KLM.
Looking really good. I think you really pulled off the difficult nose.
Absolutely stunning
You have to be the best at making lego planes tbh
