Hi stu check the plastic fan inside the mixer as are prone to loosing a Finn on the blade with wear an tear which causes overheating and will cut the mixer out
I think your doing a great job STU and KC, and I think your videos are inspiring to the younger generation to get in to bricklaying keep it up it’s great.keith
Cheers Keith, yeah I get a lot of messages saying they start their bricklaying apprentishio because of watching my videos so that’s a warm feeling knowing that and keeps me above the critical bricklayer that’s are doing anything for the trade only criticise others. 👍🧱
Not for you Stu, but for those new to the game. Air entrainer or fattener in the mortar is needed to get a pliable mix. Too much of it though can kill the mortar ie it loses it's strength on hardening and I have seen it turn to powder months later. So for newbies....don't overdo the Mortar Mix liquid or powder stuff.
You two are hilarious! I’m loving the lunch segments. I’m visiting family in Newton-Le-Willows next week so if I see you guys around, KC is getting some biscuits!
Great vid again stu. If you see this stu can you tell KC that his trick with the one ton sand bag is bloody brilliant. Also, on site we only use 15ml of feb and it does the job perfect!
I really like your work and the clips you shoot, I’ve been involved in construction for 20 years and from my experience I’ll say that you are an excellent builder and expert in your field, I have worked in many countries, now in Germany and I’ll say that there are professionals and you are a connoisseur of your field, and I’m also from Ukraine, and even there they watch your channel, and hello to your work friend, sorry for my English, this is a translator.
A tidy site is a happy site no matter the size of the site. As I said on the previous video I’m looking forward to this wall taking shape with that classic bond. Btw KC’s pointing is immaculate. He’s gotta get rid of those trousers though 🤣
Stu, I’ve been watching your videos forever and love the content. Something I was taught and it’s just a small attention to detail thing but there are two face sides to every brick. Obviously the long side but also the “header” or skinny side has a face and back side too Just curious if this is something you catch yourself doing from time to time. Some masons don’t care because structurally it doesn’t matter but visually it catches my eye every time. If you look at your course of just headers, you see the sharp edges, that “generally” indicates that is the backside of the brick and I normally face those away from view. Either way, love your attitude and work ethic. 🙏
I'm a bricklayer/builder from stockport currently living in Melbourne Australia. I love watching your videos, it takes me back home with all the sayings, and the banter. You do a great job of the way you set the videos up and you and kc are great!!! Keep up the great work guys and I'll be watching. And remember it's nice to be nice and f##k the w##kers!!!

Don’t know if you use this method or not, but on flat faced engineering brick, after you have finished the job and the pointing has dried, rub over entire wall with a piece of rockwool to remove any white stain marks on the brick, 👍
I worked with a bricky who laid bricks all his working life and for many years after he reached retirement age , when using a mixer he always (or I did on his instruction) put a bucket full of water in the mixer first then added the plasticiser, then cement then sand; the mix formed and was completed much more quickly than adding the water piecemeal as you seem to do. At one time the labourer always had a drum or container of water at the side ot mixer for this purpose. Is this not common practice anymore or has it been found that adding the water more slowly improves the mix?
Just 10 ml feb with concentrated mix of 5:1 we use, never drop 25ml to be honest. Black top opti mix we prefer. The red lid is weaker and takes longer to whip up
My feed is slowing turning into construction TV, I’ve now got a brickie, two chippies, three sparkies, a few joiners/finish carpenters, two equipment operators, and some odd job guys. All I need now is a roofer, and a couple grounds men and I can build a mini estate 🤔
Great lunchtime sketch and quite different? You guys are becoming very Morecombe and Wise! 😂😂 Have you thought of adding in the famous breakfast routine?? Now that would be cracking 🤔😎😎😎😎😎👌👍👏👏🏴
Yo KC think it was me who mentioned about that Feb,that Donald looks perfect.Another quality build Stu,your definitely my favourite Blade runner on UA-cam 🧱👌
Love your videos bin out the game for a few years to back injury , absolute class brickie stu and your relationship with kc is magic a lost my old man at 11 and would give my right arm to have relationship u have with your dad keep safe u 2 and look forward to more videos when we are back to Normal
It was me that said it's like goggle box👍. You and kc could be food critics, fashion icons, current affairs correspondence. Anything you want really your videos have it all😀.
thanks for this nice video, when you were using electrical machine to mix sand and cement, how long did it take you to make one patch of mortar ? 5mins, 10 mins ? thanks
Well good job, nice wall, nice technique! Ihave been thaught the same technique, nice consistency on the bed joints and mortar color!!!! I use a different tool to finish the joints but Its a nice technique also ! Overall I love this channel!
You two make me laugh wish I was there ...my m8s say I'm like max ....nice work clean and tidy ....if your ever in around Runcorn way give me a shout boys

Could just be your cable for the mixer stu I had the problem before and just stripped the plug down and then cut abit of the wire off and worked perfect ever since as the wire had been wrapped that ma y time round it came apart inside
So therapeutic watching a artist createing his masterpiece.
Cringe
Great job. It's good to see a tradesman take such pride in his work and also keep the customers property tidy and safe.
Whatever the day has thrown at you. There's no better way to unwind than with a cuppa, biscuits, and a Stu and KC video on UA-cam
On the couch with Stu and KC is a show on its own. I like the banter.
😂😂 KCs face when he looked in that bag! "Ooohhhh sht.... go on then"

Absolutely loving the vlog style mate. Two Bobbydazzlers right there lol.
I look forward to watching “KC” and his sidekick “STU”, LMAO. You guys are great, keep up the work.
Try using 10mm of that fed mate you will still get the same muck . The cap has a measuring mark on it . Great work again 👍
You can't tell this man nothing owd fruit. He shows us not we show him!! Just saying 😛
top job again boys, i found with them bricks a light rub down with rockwool insulation at the end about gone off brings it up nice
If you have some rock wool at hand it cleans engineering bricks up a treat after it jointed and gone off a bit
Instead of acid at later date
Thank you , Stu and KC .

Blimey! 15ml of that concentrate feb is more than enough! 😂😂
Awesome stuff though, I won’t use anything but now
MrOitoyboy that’s what I use never more lol
I use a whole cap of feb for 1 bag of cement tends to be the right amount for me
Yeah I use 1/2 a cap for 1/2 a bag so about right. The mix stays in all day with the concentrate too.
Different amount of feb for different type of sand
STU is the wizard of bricklaying.
KC needs a best bricky jacket like yours stu
Love you two ...makes my day when a vlog pops up,...........just asking why no drain holes in the wall
Been laying brick and block 20 years now... this is the first time I've seen anyone use a concrete mixer to mix mortar.
BRILLIANT, IT'S ALL IN THE MIX. 👍👍👍👍

Hi stu great work as always just wondering why you never use the stand for your mixer? Any particular reason?
I lay bricks all day, come home and watch another bloke laying bricks. You either absolutely love it or absolutely hate it 🤣🤣

great mud that.
Hi stu, what’s the reason for the red dye?
And also do you ever come across doing any lime mortar brickwork I.e hydraulic lime etc...
Great stuff x
So the colour of the mortar matches the brick
