From what I remember (about 30 years ago), the background hills would encourage Julie Andrews to perform the opening scenes from the 'Sound of Music' - provided it wasn't February when the temperature turned nippy. Thanks very much for this musical entry. Ian

Thank You Ian, Pleased you enjoyed our antics in Sapcote.
Anyone want to buy a large property in the Midlands with a Sound-Proof Organ Chamber, Blower Shed,
and Fully Licenced for Music and Dancing and Bar with cellar for Draft Beer?
Thanks as always for your interest, Kindest Regards, PAUL.

Hi Gary, Pleased you enjoyed this little bit of history. My late wife Hazel and me lived in Sapcote for a little over forty years but quite honestly when she passed away
I lost all interest in Compton Lodge and decided to move down here to Ynyshir. Everyone knew me in Sapcote but the folks are very friendly here in another village setting,
so I am pleased to live in the Rhondda where the locals are also friendly with many attending our shows at the Music Palace. Best Wishes PAUL.

Thanks so much for posting this Paul so lovely to see the organ being moved in these pictures. I always loved the videos you posted of the organ in its Sapcote days so to coin a famous Abba Tune, "Thank you for the music". It's no mean task moving a theatre organ. As I have said before, I just dabbled as an extra pair of hands with the great Les Rawle, so I know the effort and complexities of taking an organ out and then transporting it on safely. So well done to all. And to think dear old Reggie Foort, with his team of men in the late 1930s, did this every week with his Mighty Moller organ moving to a new theatre! All the best, Kev.

Hi Kev. Thank You so much for your kind remarks. I think my organ moving days are over and I just stick to playing.
Unfortunately with the pandemic we haven't been able to present any shows at the Music Palace, just across the road from my house.
Nevertheless we have a Group Visit booked in for February so I'll have to do a bit of practice! Haven't played for ages,
such a change. From summer 1964 I've had 4 or 5 dates every week, Summer Seasons and Pantomime at Christmas.
It'll be great to get back! Many Thanks once again, Best Wishes from the old pensioner in the Rhondda! Cheers, PAUL.

@@ComptonLodgeStudios Thanks, Paul. Yep, a bit like myself I have been caring for my 90+-year-old father in all this pandemic so have hardly been out! So here is hoping that in 2022 we do start to see the end of all this and get back to normality. Keep up the good works down there in South Wales. All the best Kev.

@@BramleyProductions Thanks Kev. I went through helping to look after my Dad. It was a strain on Mum and she passed on, All a few years ago. Time heals!
      All the Best, PAUL.
