1985 I was just a kid, 12 years old, living in Tampa, well Brandon, watching This Old House every weekend..along with Motorweek..I enjoyed the home improvement shows more than cartoons! Now, many buyers love the original tile and vintage appliances in that small home..I grew up in a 60's home similar to the one in the show..not as small though..THAT was a small home!
Checking out the references of the contractors...something that seems to be lost on todays generation with the horror stories I see about people hiring contractors off of Facebook.
Pre Mr. Coffee. Rubic's Cubes. Dolphin's Green. Anyone else think that contractor breathed a sigh when Norm took off? I had a hat and shirt just like that one, wished I still had it.
I've lived in the bay area my whole life and watched this show since before I was old enough to remember, and NEVER knew there was a Tampa episode!
Bob and Norm were like Rock Stars of the building industry, they never miss a beat.
Back when TOH was for common people to do home Reno's & repairs... Now they won't answer the phone unless your gonna spend over $800k

That birch kitchen was beautiful.
Wow, 35 years old! Interesting glimpse into 1980s Tampa Florida style suburban living.
That house they started with is in perfect condition.
Reno they toured, HA. Gotta love the 80's.
Those cinderblock feet on the living room shelves are nice
Pura vida great show I love to see some latin last names on this project

For the first time in 1986, This Old House is taped on the road: Tampa, Florida.👍
So where is part 2?
The house with all the mirrors makes me think about how much cocain people were doing in Florida in the 1980s
WATCH THAT SHOW COCAINE COWBOYS AND SEE
21:53 "is that another mirror there?" Yeah Bob it's reflecting the trees and pool in the middle of the kitchen you were just sitting in
Hahahahahaa!! nice
BOB WAS ALWAYS A DOUCE
NO WONDER HE GOT FIRED
Bob Vila will be useful, but he help me upgrade my grandma's house to a lap of luxury Columbus-style.
Query: What does "DERRIVE" mean?
Norm showed up just to say he didn't want any part of that clown show

Bob had a pimp car
You see how he dressed and the rings he wore in the earlier seasons? He definitely had that pimp swag going on.
My thoughts exactly, that cutlass was niiiiiiice.
That hotel was already there. Built by a previous generation of people
FL then musta been like gods country
Where’s the full?
