I don’t know at least one member of this group will see this comment, but I have a few words. Two or three years ago I had a very severe depression and I listened to your songs. And that helped me. Often I turned off the lights, put on my headphones and listened. At such moments, as if Ian was drumming right on my ribs, Rafik was playing in the veins, and Ryan's voice echoed in chest. After a couple of years, I still sometimes listen to your songs when something emotional happens in my life. I can’t imagine how I would feel when I was at your concert. Unfortunately, I could not get to your concert in St. Petersburg, but this is not the end of my life. Thank you for your creativity.
What amazes me, is that when we became adults we see so much depression and suicidal thoughts around us, so many people like you and me. I remember when I was kid or even teenager, reading about someone killing himself was weird, like how bad must it be that he would do so, but now its like, okey understandable another person fell of.
Yesterday, I saw them live in Warsaw - when they played this song, i shit you not, felt like dying, flying, like freaking ecstasy. Ryans voice live is even more powerful and Rafiq and Ians solos are exquisite. If you have an opportunity to see them live - do it. Its once in a lifetime experience.
Saw them in Toronto a while back and couldn't agree more. I was worried the inflection and delicateness of his voice might not be as powerful live versus his fantastic studio chops and was utterly blown away....and IAN...man oh man...I don't think I can muster the words to do his rhythmic talents justice. REALLY hoping I can see them in a huge outdoor venue too, in the future... 100% must see live band.
This song is not about being young its about looking back... Once you do that, youre not young anymore, but you do see more, become wiser... its bittersweet
But don't we all look back on when we were a child when we are a teen and at when we were a teen when we are an adult, does that make us old before we're adults?
Oh oh oh oh Oh oh Days we were young We took photographs of everything we could see We knew we were Impervious no matter how we'd bleed We never fought for breath Priest and prophetess We were nothing we would defy Invincible skin It's how we all begin Oh oh Awake, awake This is a dream state Oh oh oh oh Oh oh though we were wide awake This is a dream state Oh oh though we were wide awake This is a dream state Will we survive in this, our new wilderness? We have nothing on our feet We had to run from it Priest and prophetess We were nothing we would deny Invisible skin Where is the world within? Invincible skin It's how we all begin Oh oh Awake, awake Oh oh this is a dream state Oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh This is a dream state Oh oh though we were wide awake Out of the dark day, into the brighter night Out of the dark day, into the brighter night Out of the dark day, into the brighter night Out of the dark day, into the brighter night Out of the dark day, into the brighter night How do we feel? (oh oh oh) How do we feel in that photograph And how do we feel it again? How do we feel? (oh oh oh) How do we feel in that photograph And how do we feel it again? Days we were young We took photographs of everything we could be
The way this song continues to build in intensity and then the music starts "breaking" at the end is freaking iconic. Gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it.
this song just wakes up something inside my soul, i can’t describe the chills and weird sense of completeness hearing this song. full volume is necessary.
Guys, this song and the lyrics are pure perfection. This is an entire feature film in 5 min 30 sec. If I've loved you beyond a lot before, I love you more now. Thank you! Words cannot describe.
I heard this song for the first time about a week ago: It brought tears to my eyes. I needed the reminder that this song brings: that no matter what, if I can connect to the world within me and find peace with that place, then I can find peace anywhere, even in the face of adversity. Finding this song helped me through this time of struggle. Thank you.

superior taste? what is that? ^^ but yeah, calling some music amazing, just because I like it, is just being egoistic, that is my point.. ^^ you get it, right? ^^
I get it, but I disagree. By that logic, isn't calling anyone's taste "pathetic" also just being egoisitic? ^^ Unless someone explicitly labels something a fact, I'm pretty sure that anything anyone ever writes on the internet is his/her/it's opinion, which, presumably, everone's entitled to state and share to their heart's desire, no? How can that be considered egoistical? How else would we have any human discourse? ^^
Son Lux never ceases to amaze me with their beautiful lyrics and fascinating videos. The artistry is impeccable, and unique, I don't think anyone else could make music as good as this.
My boyfriend and I went to the Electric Castle this year in Romania only for Son Lux. When they sang ‘Dream State’ I literally cried. tears of joy. beyond words. natural high, no need for drugs. I love you, guys.
I agree the voice is like running your hand across some satisfying fabric only in the ears and it always boosts my brainstorming for making up balanced stories, and the instruments in the background just make it well balanced EVERY song
I have listened to this song probably about 50 times in the past 48 hrs... not exaggerating at alll... I just keep replaying it on and on... it is just soooo good😭 can't wait for a new album and hopefully a tour!!🙌🏽
Amazing and simply exquisite. I listen to this all the time. Son Lux is the best. Thank you for this amazing feeling starting my day... Or night... Idk!
i still remember the first time i heard this song. i was listening to kexp while driving to a mental health treatment program, and feeling really low. then this song came on, and i was suddenly like “hell yeah this is gonna be a good day!” so thank you son lux :’)

Same here. Can't remember what the advert was...probably just some other shite that I have no interest in watching...but this song...it just sort of crept up on me and kept haunting my thoughts. So I googled it and now, here I am. So glad I did, because it looks like these guys have a whole back catalogue of strange melancholic fugues to start stanning over. I love it when that happens.

amazing music video. Whoever made it is a graphic designer who knows the next trend and evolution of type and passing of information through a graphic format. So impressed by the music too
I've been playing this one on repeat lately. I'm still trying to unlock everything it's saying, but it still speaks to me even while I don't fully understand it.
Son lux are one of my favorites, they are really good musicians and the composition of the songs are always really clean. They touch me and my unconscious part too

i'm seeing them for the second time this year in october. They are indeed amazing.
Saw them last week! Truly an unearthly experience now every time I hear this song it's like I've had my breath kicked out of me.
saw them in Portland. I'll never forget this song. Ryan's voice. Ian's drum solo. I'll never forget. They are art.

This song is freedom, it's literally how I'd define freedom with music
Everything Son Lux does is warm sunlight and shivering stars.
The shiver you feel the first time you hear this... What an exquisite piece of music.
Son Lux's music sounds like my anger to the world yet soothes my anger to the world. Son Lux screams for me.
