What a great video you've produced for us again Ben, superb in every detail. A nice tribute to the class 325 mail trains and finishing off with a pair of Varamis 321's which i hope will pick up a fair bit of the parcel traffic that Royal Mail have relinquished. Ontop of all that was a cracking Sountrack mate. Great stuff. Hope you're well and haave a good week, Colin.
@colingarwood9971 Thanks Colin. Thought I would do something special as Mail on Rail has always been special to me. You star in the video as well. 😊 I'm all good though thanks. Hope you and family are well and have a great week as well. Rgds, Ben
We now its all to late know for another TOC to take over the class 325 operation moving letters on the railways, I don't think it helped that so many people would rather sent a email instead of a letter these days. But I for one would love Varamis to increase there class 321 operation to include moving our letter up to Scotland again. Ben it was good to see how different your Stafford footage was to mine, what a great night we had, well you had a better night as I missed the one working, cheers Mike.
@antman09ful1 I know what you mean, Mike, and I know you (like me) get very upset about this decision as it seems the railway is going backwards when it would seem more logical to go forward. But oh well!!! Common sense on the railway never seems to apply. Thanks for your comment, Mike. We had a great evening we did, and I'm pleased you enjoyed my footage and found it different to yours. As always your company is always the highlight of the day. 👍🏻
You did a very creative job compiling the video Ben. It is sad to see the railway losing a long established customer with the Royal Mail moving their operations to road transport. One of reasons was the exhorbitant cost of electricity compared to diesel fuel yet the government keep pushing ahead with the green agenda by wanting all electric road vehicles in the near future. In the long term Royal Mail may regret that move when they have to renew their road fleet. Perhaps GBRf could have offered them a few old coaches and a 66 for a few more years to keep them going.😄 All those Freightliners had me thinking you were out spying on the opposition, then a GBRf 66 appeared with all of four boxes on to save the day.🤣
@werringtonjunction thanks Mick. I do question the validity of the green agenda when nothing seems to get done about it that makes sense. Anyway that's a debate for another day 😂 It's a shame another operator particularly GBRf couldn't take it over for Royal Mail. But I guess the will from the customer just wasn't there. I'm pleased you enjoyed the Stafford footage though even if it was Freightliner heavy but I guess this is their stronghold (Crewe area) like Peterborough is GBRf's.
@CyclarityUK couldn't agree more. What upsets me is that they are scrapping the 325 units which makes reversing the decision more difficult and even more expensive.

Will be a shame and going backwards instead of forwards if they take mail off the rails

@@benGBRf Who has decided this, government or royal mail?
@CyclarityUK I think its down to Royal Mail but the Government should be putting pressure on to overturn this ridiculous decision
@@benGBRf First it was DB 90s and then mail trains. What a shame! At least Varamis Rail still has 321s running around on the WCML 👍
@arnoldspottingvideos5269 yes agree with you there Arnold. I hope Varamis increases their services 🤞🏻
