Ignore the jealous idiots and their negative comments. I'm a Glock fan and I'll definitely use this video tutorial when I do my mags. Yours look awesome good job.
Hey at least we eat with our rifle on the ready. Pulled right up on some Army dogs in Iraq 03, no weapons 2 guys asleep. I blasted my 203 danger close and they all about shit themselves. I couldn't believe it. But then we jumped out of the hummer and boarded a CH 53 and flew to turkey where we watched and gambled on camel races at the track. The prince then said what are you doing Marine..?? I smiled at him with silver and gold chunks of wax Crayolas and lil Jon started playing on the jukebox....which was all on 45's. I found that strange, because the Stargate we jumped thru was permanently removed to make way for a Starbucks. I will never go back to Combat without permanent markers again....ohhhh, I almost forgot...the damn bat's flying around.
Brother please don't listen to the trolls. That process is easy and looks killer.I will do this to my upper slide and all my mags. Thanks for the light of imagination and the process of DIY. Love you Brother in arms. Keep up the positive attitude and keep posting for us You Tubers that really care!!!!!!!!!
maaaaaaaan that's really a smart move from you excellent thinking...the letters on the magazine is really clear and beautiful your guide surly will help a lot of Glock owners thank you for posting that
Nice detailing man. I'm a bit of a detail freak myself. While I do not own a Glock, this has to make it quicker, easier, and SAFER for those who own multiple Glocks of differing calibers. Good job!
I used red yellow and green as well. At full to 8 the numbers are green. 8 to 3 are yellow and 3 to 1 are red. The emblems are also white. Good looking mags and a suggestion. To anyone who wants something other then plain white.
I succumbed to this shit too.. Color coded my baseplates grey filled logo for 40 with a white 40 within the border..nines are green logo with yellow 9 ..those are the ones easier to mix up so a quick look at bottom keeps my gear straight. Pro tip...Use testors modeling enamel in tactical manly flat colors instead of the wife's nail polish or you'll mix your mags with hers.
brad fiser thank you for sharing some humor about these fools coloring firearms with crayons, has everyone gone mad!!the point of black is so it doesn't stand out, today's newer gun owners must customize their firearms like it's a,pimps Cadillac, ak 47s looking like ar 15s ar 15s looking like something out of star wars, they're all just a vehicle to deliver the projectile, not stadiums to plaster shit on,more gun owners is good but someone please tell them to relax, spend time and energy SHOOTING not playing dress up
michael cohen if my girl wants a pink fucking glock then god dammit she's getting a pink fucking glock! Lmao as long as she's packin I don't care what color the damn thing is!
Thanks for the vid. Gave me the confidence I needed to color fill my glock properly. The razor method didn't work for me it pulled the paint out of the lettering. But love the way my 30s turned out.
I GOT A SMALL BOTTLE OF. WHITE TODAY AND AM GOING TO TRY. THIS ON A FEW OF MY GUNS AS SEEING THIS I REALLY LIKED THE WAY THEY LOOKED---THANK ALL OF YOU
Fuckk Face better word is both, but people in general like to stick with glock for all their sizes, ie, a 17 for duty, 19 for carry, and 26 for backup. Me, my dad bought a glock 17 when we bought our first pistols (mine was a beretta 92) and a year later i won a raffle and got to choose any glock for free, so i chose a glock 34.
Nice attention to detail. I am sure it could be done many "other" and possibly faster ways. However with this technique and the patience you are exuding, I would bet no area is untouched. Probably a fine running weapon. Haters dont have shit.
Thanks mate!! I used another brand of nail lacquer but it worked out great!! Scrapping the top layer off before wiping it down definitely makes it much easier, cheers!!
Ha! That's crazy! I used the same exact polish purchased from the dollar store. Bought it because of the fine tip. Exactly how I did it but I didn't do any scraping.
I'm undecided on the white on the slide, but I definitely like the fill on the magazines. It solves a problem that multiple glock owners face. Nice video, thanks.
All you are doing is trying to help others and you get people making some of the nastiest comments. I would make a comment about them wasting their time watching a video that they hate but I was raised a little different. I also have a relationship with someone that warns me that if I want to spend an eternity at his place I need to treat people the way I want to be treated. Thank you for the post.
I would only suggest adding nitrile gloves when handling the magazines or slide since you can transfer oils from your skin/hands to the surface to be painted
skip ahead to 4:00 to the meat of what he's doing. Good informative mod. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Curious if certain lacquers are better than others, and hold up over time.
I know it's been a long time since your video but here's an idea. Place tooth picks in the count holes and cover the open end of the mag. Then spray a clear coat of some kind in order to help the color fill last.
Found_the_Light yeah check out glock conversion barrels. You can switch out almost all glocks. You can turn 1 gun into like 3-5. Great way to save money as well.
My daddy, he disowned me 'cause I wear my sister's clothes. He caught me in the bathroom with a pair of pantyhose And if you don't know the reference then you MUST watch more Cheech and Chong.
My only concern would be when using the knife to scrape away the excess nail polish that any debris doesn't make it in to the inside of the magazine. A similar concern would be a small worry that any nail polish that might flake off from the magazine, getting on bullets and then into the slide/trigger mechanisms. I thing this is a great idea for the stamping on the slide, but not as comfortable with something that goes inside of the gun.
Simple solution to your concerns. After your done painting, scraping, and wiping away on the magazine you disassemble it and give it a good cleaning. I always clean my mags every time I clean my gun since I do a lot of carpentry work sawdust gets in every place possible. Takes no time and makes it like new again.
I used enamel metallic gold paint and a needle to apply the paint so there wasnt much clean up... looks like it will last a long time but only only time will tell.
I use yellow for my Glock 19 and white for my Glock 30 guns and magazines. I still get confused as to which ammo goes to which gun, so I color coat the bullet stamps on each casing. Now it's all fool-proof!
I live in Texas and its over 100 every summer, and I have gone shooting in the heat and never had any problems with it, never had to re apply or fix anything. Some type of razor blade is your best bet for removing the bulk, I think a credit card could pose the risk smearing badly if its not fully cured, and if it was, possibly pulling out the colorfill with the extra. It doesn't hurt the finish or the gun at all, and won't mar the polymer if you are careful and make level scrapes.
I have seen an additional step, where a clear coat is put on last. Either way, it is a great look. I have a friend who uses a white pen from the arts & crafts store. He keeps "touching "his up.
This the same process for doing paintfill on golf clubs, I recognized it as soon as he started alluding to how to do it lol. Straight edge(throw away gift card etc) with a paper towel, brush over at an angle after putting your paint down. then use a Q-tip with nail polish remover to clean excess lol. probably put some acrylic clear coat on it to help last long as well lol. This ain’t nothing tew difficult, although if you do it the way I’m saying it completely takes out the whole “xacto knife” method, lol the jist is you brush over the paint and let it settle instead of just putting multiple coats.
Nice video Bro! I know I'm a little late for the party but I couldn't figure out wtf I was doing wrong so I checked your vid and learned that you need to let it dry completely then wipe with the remover which the non acetone tip was an excellent one as was the type of polish to use!! Mags look awesome and can't wait to have mine looking good too!!! Thanks.
Nice job. FYI. what I have done in the past for women. I use white paint. then go over it with pink nail polish. It really sands out nict. If you do not use a white base it does not look very good. Good luck-Shawn- this goes for any other color you may desire. I never heard of the nail polish laquer. It sound more permanent. I find my self having to go over from time to time as I use a paint stick-I buy them from an arts & crafts supplu store called Miachels.
Great....now I need to know what acetone will do to my mags. I've got a bottle of 99% sitting here, I'll bring in a spare mag tomorrow and report back. I'll also try some harsher stuff to see if I can mess up the finish at all.
Plus use Hoppes #9 to take off excess. Nail polish remover dulls the colors inside the fill. Hoppes will get the polish off just as good and not dull the fill.
Thank you so much.... I followed your video to do it on my (Airsoft) Glock 18C... Nice attetion to detail, nice video quality, very clear.... Thanks again!
Nice video in spite of idiots trying to make bad remarks. I have a Glock and I do like what you did with the magazines. Anyone can criticize. Most of the critics just showed us just how stupid they really are just by making their comments that were about where their pay grade in life is.
I like what you did, not sure about putting the knife onto the magazine, with my luck I'll scratch it. Can you just wipe off the excess with the nail polish remover?
to take this even further, I make each caliber a different color so i dont even need to read. all i have to do is look at the color and i know which caliber im grabbing.
So the standard machinists method of doing this is to apply the paint, then wipe it lightly while wet so that it stays in the indents. Taking it off semi-dry seems like kindaof a pain.
I find this works much better as well. I use Testors, a piece of white print paper and some CLP. I see a lot of guys let it dry and end up having bright engravings but a shadow around them as well.
Scott Franco, Agreed. I paint models and any time I need to fill a groove I fill it with paint and wipe it off against the grain then after a couple of coats I clean up the residue. At this point however I have gotten rather good at litely pressing a thin brush into the groove and allowing it to soak the paint into itself with the power of physics, but it does have to be a very thin paint to do it that way. It also helps that I varnish with a clear coat around the grooves before filling as it removes most of the surface area that the excess paint would stick to making it easier to wipe off, but I don't know if I would do that step with gun parts.
Have you painted a bright war other color in the Glock logo on the case I think that would look fairly impressive let me know and if yourself up for it Chillis was just like I think you look incredible thank you for this demonstration
Beautiful, thanks for sharing this informative video. I saw that your firearm was done also, same method? Blade won’t scratch slide? If you get a sec let me know, that really gives your Glock a custom look. Thanks again.
I used a sharpie paint pen with a fine point worked out real good on my taurus pt 111 g2. Yours looks really good too. Oh and I dont care who likes it or not it's mine and can do with it as I please
I gotta tell you. You had me searching high and low for this brand of nail art lacquer. Wall-mart didn't have it, K-Mart. And the 2 places that did (Dollar Tree and Family Dollar) only carried white / black / gold / silver. No Red! Anyway, I'm sitting at home doing this to my magazine's #'s in white now. Ordered the red online. Nice Tutorial though and thanks
How well does that hold up? three coats seams a bit excessive. I bet you could use a special paint pen to lay in there with one pass and be done. Looks good, just worried about how well it lasts when it takes so long to do.
The plasic coating is very forgiving, a small knick from the knife won't even be noticeable. You could leave out that step, but It would probably take you 2x-3x longer to remove all the extra paint.
Couldn't you just use a paint pen, place alot of color onto the surface then wipe it while it's wet so the paint gets stuck in the cracks. If it smears a little use acetone. On the numbers above the dimples use a qtip. Maybe im being stupid idk.
Looking at comments, I can see that many of you are complaining about the time spent on such a small thing, but, considering that this takes like 10 minutes per mag(and less, if you do many of them at the same time), well, I think you must have a really shitty life....or waaay too many mags.
Ignore the jealous idiots and their negative comments. I'm a Glock fan and I'll definitely use this video tutorial when I do my mags. Yours look awesome good job.

you should color code according to cal.
wildcat19671 that would be cool. Id do that but all my glocks are 9mm

Fuckk Face to my knowledge, a duty gun is one thats too big to conceal so it has to be carried exposed in an external holster.

I use yellow for my Glock 19 and white for my Glock 30 guns and magazines. I still get confused as to which ammo goes to which gun, so I color coat the bullet stamps on each casing. Now it's all fool-proof!

A faster way to get the numbers painted use a rubber squeegee right after you put the paint in and it makes for a way easier clean up
The plasic coating is very forgiving, a small knick from the knife won't even be noticeable. You could leave out that step, but It would probably take you 2x-3x longer to remove all the extra paint.
With the 3 different calibers; since you are filling them in; might as well use 3 different colors so you get an additional advantage in sorting..

I haven't painted my brand new glock 43x yet It looks awesome but I think I'll keep mine plane Jane with a solid black slide
My M&P shoots .40 & .357-sig from the same gun. M&P and flock are good ass guns
ya i really love my Flock 19
Flock
how long does it last, maybe a update video?
Dark, black and inconspicuous... Not easily identifiable at a quick glance and not for everyone's eyes.
BikerBry that’s what the American police force say
I know this video is old but that’s actually 🔥
Couldn't you just use a paint pen, place alot of color onto the surface then wipe it while it's wet so the paint gets stuck in the cracks. If it smears a little use acetone. On the numbers above the dimples use a qtip. Maybe im being stupid idk.
How does it hold up to solvents during cleaning? Same procedure for the slide?
any weatherproof fingernail polish works long as you use "non-acetone" remover..I did my G27 in off orange.
Looking at comments, I can see that many of you are complaining about the time spent on such a small thing, but, considering that this takes like 10 minutes per mag(and less, if you do many of them at the same time), well, I think you must have a really shitty life....or waaay too many mags.
How do you get rid of the white smear that is left on the mag.?
Or do you just leave it there and pretend you don't see it?
Cool beans, yeah I live in Phoenix, AZ myself. I bet that 9mm "fun stick" was a pain to do!! haha Looks sharp though.
