Man, this is one of the most enjoyable videos for learning Arabic I've watched in a while. I really appreciate the casual (realistic) rhythm and style -- it's the opposite of lots of content I find that is basically just reading a script. I have a couple podcasts in Levantine dialect that I listen to which are basically just conversations, but they're usual a little too far above my comprehension level to enjoy too much. This is perfect though! I like that you find simple ways to say some things in different ways to help with understanding more intermediate words. Thanks for this!

I understood the main points of the story and picked up on the meaning of vocab I haven’t heard before. But having subtitles in Arabic would be helpful to see how these words are written. So then I can note down new vocab accurately.

English speaker here: I am trying to work on distinguishing my Arabic consonants (well, and vowels). I found it helpful to repeat after you! look I couldn't understand the story, but the 3's (reyens) 8's (achks), and K's (*coff*s) really came across to me this time.

MarHaba! I guess I would be considered a "late beginner". I've studied MSA irregularly for over a decade and recently finished two units (or 60 lessons; 1,800 minutes) of Levantine Arabic with Pimsleur. I understood many things in fragments from your story and I'm pretty sure I understood the overall gist but would you be able to share with us, in English, what you said so we can check our comprehension? Shukran jazeelan. This was really helpful.

I just started an Arabic 101 class at a college. These videos where I can listen to the sound and speech are very helpful to me. This presentation was very good for understanding the flow of the speech. I recognized about 10 words from rhe whole thing!😅 I have an idea. Can you do one where you tell a story that we already know. Like some common children's story or tale, and tell us what the story will be, but speak the whole story in Arabic? Then we have an idea of what you are talking about but still only hearing Arabic. Shukran!

Could you please enable or add the subtitles to this video. I kinda see where you coming from with “just listen approach”, but in fact if we want to repeat after you or learn some parts of your stories and actually gain the new words, we need to somehow see the script and the translation to it. Or at least enable subtitles please 🙏
I think it’s a made up concern that people will switch on subtitles and will loose their portion of the experience as a consequence. If they don’t need the subtitles, they will not switch them on. Instead, if u add the subs u could really help pre-intermediate students.
