Ram 2500 needed the spacer also. I used the screws that came with the speakers and it worked out great. The screws were angled a bit but they lined out once I tightened them. Tight fit once I put the door panel on but the tweeter has a guard and the woofer had more than enough clearance.
I always liked those speakers, they do sound good

In the front doors the teeters face different directions and I left the actuation switch at 0. I actually did another video and update I moved these speakers to the rear doors and installed infinity 9630cx in the front doors.
Just installed these myself. The angled tweeters face different directions on my install too because for some weird reason the connectors are on the top on one speaker with the the tweet facing in and the other it's on the bottom. Not sure if it makes a huge difference with lower door locations like this, but gotta think they angle them for a reason, right?
Also, did you push in the attenuation switch or leave it alone?
Have 4 pioneer 1675v2 in the door. Just received 2 reference 9633ix to add at the back. Can't wait. How that they blend together and give a nice sound quality.

Question are you using same amplifier that came with the truck ?
Yes! I Have the alpine sound system, witch is an optional upgrade from the base system. but yes the factory amp.
Better sound?
They do sound a lot better.
