Yea T6 is customization peak. You had four parts of the body to alter; upper body (top), waist (bottom), feet (shoes), arms (gloves) plus somewhere around 4-6 unique costumes per character that you could mix n match. Even the silly and wacky customs were also less generic and fit more to the specific character or body type. Since TT2 its been a downgrade. We lost two areas to customize (feet, arms), everything got more generic and boiled down to female vs male, and we basically are lucky to get more than 2 costumes per character. Hopefully T8 does better but honestly I don't think it's a priority for them. Or at least, what they think is good is drastically different than what fans think.

@Nædrin Alisa and Lars were added in the "Blood Revolution" arcade update of T6 before console release and thus had less costumes. Almost everyone else had more costumes and customization choices then them. For example, Nina for comparison she had her two defaults, a nurse outfit (though this one counted as both a top and bottom), her Death by Degrees outfit, a motorcycle outfit, and outfit that alternated between a design her of T3 top and a nobles outfit (so 5-6). Another example Julia had her two defaults, an additional native american outfit, a cowgirl look, a button up and/or vest look, and a traditional kenpo outfit (5-6). This the case for 90% of the roster and unlike T7s generic costumes, they were accurately fitted to the model so they didn't look awkward af. T7 for comparison has 1 default, a usually classic outfit that used to be the standard 2P, and maaaybe two unique costum outfits. So you are getting at least 2 less ouftis, not even taking into account the loss of two custom sections (foot, arm). Everything else in there is generic t-shirts and badly fitted outfits. And yea, I meant peak for Tekken customization not fighting games in general. I think Soul Calibur does better currently and so did Virtua Fighter when it was around. I'd still take more options than less, I don't care about inconsistent when you keep losing additional options in the same mode every game. The only redeeming part of T7s customization is that the PC version has mods.
Oh but at least some of the "new" characters are returned cut ones, like Lei, Anna, Julia, Armor King and Kunimitsu. Literally dropped the game cause they managed to cut my favs.
@Dante Ryujin Agreed, past Tekken games were absolutely fantastic as they had heaps of content especially in the home ports, Tekken 7 is absolutely starved of content for single player (No Survival, No Team Battle, No 9 Stage Arcade Mode, Ghost Battle Lite) but nooooooo, lets waste more development money trying to appeal to sweaty tryhards who cry to Harada on Twitter every time they can't get a cheap easy win because they can't do 8 DORYAHs in a row or they get upset because their opponent had the audacity to pick the character they don't like because they have to actually work for that win.
@Dante Ryujin Tekken Force in 7 would be absolutely fantastic, I mean they've already got the models for Tekken Force and G-Corp Soldiers as well as those soldiers that tried to attack Jin in Souq plus they could always through in a Generic Jack Unit too. eSport and Online Warriors have been spoilt rotten for the past 3 years with 4 seasons worth of updates and balancing patches to make their game the perfect competitive title, it's about time Namco Bandai should work on providing more single player content because right now I'm only playing Tekken 7 for whenever an enticing new mod shows up or they release a new character for me to try on Treasure Battle and then get bored.

That Tekken 6 Lili outfit, which I *really* wish was in Tekken 7, was designed by Oh! great, the lead artist of Tenjho Tenge which explains why it's so fanservice-y. I know Lars and Jin had Tekken 6 outfits designed by Masashi Kishimoto and CLAMP, respectively. Bamco had a thing for a couple of years when they'd have manga artists design a few outfits for characters in Tekken and Soul Calibur, or even design whole characters in the case of Soul Calibur 4, though I've no idea if they've done that in Tekken 7.
Honestly, regardless of the fanservice-y ness it has, I always loved that outfit so much. It just looked so aesthetically pleasing, and I thought it went really well with Lili’s beautiful and graceful style. That’s what I think at least.(And I’m female)

The whole video was nostalgic but when the song plays at 5:44 it hits you hard. Tekken has come a long way it's insane. These outfits, the songs, and the stages are only small parts of what made Tekken a game that we love and will remember till the end of time

Great mods! You missed Nina's T2 purple outfit with the yellow sash, the green camouflage jumpsuit in T2, the yellow jumpsuit from T5, her business suit from T6, and some more I think. I'm still waiting for Namco to give us the black cocktail dress from Death By Degrees or that other outfit she wore in BV.
Always liked the costume of T3 and T4 Jin. At first though, didn't like T4 Jin and even made fun of it like "Jin, they're still gonna recognize you with your moveset and bright red gloves" but then it fit with what happened to him in T4: supposedly changed his moveset and people are probably just, like in usual Japanese fictional stories, probably gonna brush off the gloves and say it's not Jin because he had different moveset. I mean, it worked for Lee Chaolan when he went in as Violet. LOL!

These are so cool! It's sad that we can't get a costume pack or something for Tekken 7! King randomly got his Tekken 2 look and Jin & Xiaoyu got their T4 look but that was it! Maybe if they do a Season 5 we could get costumes & Offline modes rather than just characters and stages? :O

Great mods! You missed Nina's T2 purple outfit with the yellow sash, the green camouflage jumpsuit in T2, the yellow jumpsuit from T5, her business suit from T6, and some more I think. I'm still waiting for Namco to give us the black cocktail dress from Death By Degrees or that other outfit she wore in BV.

Always liked the costume of T3 and T4 Jin. At first though, didn't like T4 Jin and even made fun of it like "Jin, they're still gonna recognize you with your moveset and bright red gloves" but then it fit with what happened to him in T4: supposedly changed his moveset and people are probably just, like in usual Japanese fictional stories, probably gonna brush off the gloves and say it's not Jin because he had different moveset. I mean, it worked for Lee Chaolan when he went in as Violet. LOL!
