- In this tutorial we make a dog leash using a knitting spool. The result is a simple, functional dog leash that is quite comfortable.

Do yourself a favor and get a crochet hook to knit. Also, run a different color cord down the center for an accent and to give it a fuller feel.
Thank you for the comment!
Being a bit of a brute, I find it easier to work with my hands :).
I'll definitely try the accent cord!

Not a crochet hook. A looming hook would be perfect. Also why didn't you tie the knot up over both layers of the handle? It would have given it a sturdy more attached finished look. Thank you for all you do I LOVE your work!!
As a dog parent, I know most dog leashes are 6ft long, so for me, 6 ft. long, plus the handle. For me personally, I like an extra large handle ,as I need to wear heavy mittens during winter.. From personal experience, the clasp hook you are showing is perfect. The ring needs to have the piece that spins,or else it constantly kinks and is uncomfortable for the dog and owner.
Nicely done. Thank you for sharing. Wish you well.
made several using 2 pegs, 4 pegs and 8 pegs on my homemade DIY spool, one with a cueball monkey fist to keep other dogs from attacking my wife while walking the neighborhood, enjoyed watching another gr8 upload from you, thanks.
Interesting… there is some wasted length in that big loop you made for the handle though… I would make a handle half that size and probably increase the size of the Turks head knot to cove the end of the handle as well as the joined area…
Very cool
The work is very easy
Just getting started in paracord. What size knitting spool is best for this and future projects?
Thank you for sharing. It is beautiful. When you show the second method of adding cord, it is called the Many Method, in loving memories of our brother Manuel Zambrano who passed on years ago. One of the nicest guy we ever know. The community mourned his passing. Many lives were touched by his kindness. Thank you for keeping his memories alive through his method of connecting cords.🙏
This is very cool
Love this, thanks Marko :-)
